I went in for a pedicure and decided I wanted to get a manicure done as well, if they had the time. They said yes but failed to mention that they would be doing the manicure during my pedicure. Because they don't have the proper set up to give mani/pedis at the same time, they did a horrible job. They pretty much missed all of my cuticles and the nail polish job was horrendous, as she had my hands in the air trying to paint them. I called in about 5 days later to notify the owner. She was unapologetic and blamed me for having cuticles that grow too fast. Lavender is a pretty expensive nail salon so I was very upset at this unprofessional behavior. I have not gone back since. Carol is a doll, the salon is so cozy and yes, they are busy. They may not be able to accept you as a walk-in but they were able to accommodate me the same day. I was on vacation and in desperate need of some nail attention- enter Lavender Nail Salon. It's location is central to "downtown" Yountville, and it's beautifully decorated, albeit quite humid inside. I was easily slid into their schedule and never made to feel rushed. Sara was my attendant, and she was meticulous in her attention to my manicure. As other women were coming in for their appointments, it was clear they were regulars, as everyone working there greeted them with a warm smile and knew their name. I can't speak to the quality of their services because when I walked in and asked for a pedicure they simply said "Sorry, we don't have any". Don't have any what? Appointments? Available nail techs? There was no indication that they were by appointment only. There were only 2 people in the salon getting their nails done by 3 people. Surely one of those could have helped me? I'm giving one star only because you have to give a star. I am beyond disappointed and shocked at the horrible and unprofessional experience I had trying to make an appointment. I'm staying at a nearby hotel which recommended this place because their spa was booked for nail appointments. In front of two hotel spa staff members and my friend as witnesses, I called and made a reservation for the next day (today) for 230. Today (the day of the appointment) I called to see if I could come in earlier.  Not only did the lady who answered rudely tell me that I did not have an appointment at 230 (mind you, without even asking my name), she was completely unaccommodating in trying to schedule me in earlier. After reiterating that I had an appointment scheduled at 230, she again refused and said she never made an appointment for me.  I asked if someone else could have taken the reservation. Again, she did not even ask my name. I tried to remind her that I was referred by a particular hotel and that I made the appointment in front of their spa staff. I told her I didn't think the hotel would appreciate her treating their guests this way and she didn't care. I asked her name and she hung up on me. Class act. I've never been treated that way and rarely complain about anything. This was beyond unprofessional, rude, and offensive. Do not give this place your business. Read Less

Was hoping for great service and a good nail job, but was very disappointed. Sara did my nails and was not very friendly. Carol finished the other half of my nail after Sara had taken off the polish and Carol fixed my cracked nail with bond. Sara also did my boyfriends manicure and it was sub par. I will say though it was clean. The next time we will go out of our way to find another salon even if we have to drive. Read Less

I love this salon! I'm so sorry to see a previous poster who had a bad experience, but I guess every business has an off day? I know now, to make an appt if I want a fill, b/c only Carol does them, but since I have rotating week days off, it hasn't been a problem at all. The place is pretty, immaculate and serene. They do an amazing job; I had a regular pedicure that the polish didnt fade or chip for, I kid you not, 6 weeks! That's what made me go back, but I always know what they're using on me are quality products, and they really are a notch above most nail salons. I also appreciate the time and care they take so that they're not running over my cuticles, which HURTS, or creating hot spots when they're using the grinding tool. Soooo we had to get our nails done for a wedding, and I called to make appointments for three people. I was told to come at 1130am and we arrived and was then told she never spoke to me in a really rude tone of voice. I pulled up my call log to prove I had called the right number and suddenly she remembered speaking with me but said I only made one appointment... Obviously that was a lie. I had an hour to kill before meeting my friend and stopped in here on a whim.  After giving up a search for a coffee shop with wifi to get some work done in Yountville, I stopped in here and was able to charge up my cell phone (which was almost dead).I opted for the Express Manicure by Sara and cost $20.  It was so amazing!  The express version isn't super pampering or anything like that, but it's now Day #12 and my polish is just starting to peel.  And unlike manicures in the past, when I say "peel" I only meet the polish is fading at the end...no giant chips/flakes.  From what I've experienced in the past, this is the true sign of a manicure gone well.  So glad I spent my free hour this way! I cannot speak for the manicures here, however, I can speak to the rudeness of the staff.I attempted to get a manicure here recently.  There were two customers in the shop.  One tech did not have a client.  One of the techs told me that an appointment was coming in soon but I could wait to see if she did not show up.  The appointment time rolled around and I sat waiting quietly.  All of a sudden the the tech said "well, do you want to wait or not?". I responded that either I would wait or I asked if someone could simply remove my polish.  She said absolutely not and that they were way too busy for me to have any services done.  I have never had such encountered a nail salon where the staff was so flagrantly impolite and willing to push away eager business.  I'm not sure why they were being particularly nasty with me.  I definitely would not recommend this place to someone looking for a nice manicure and that's saying a lot coming from someone who enjoys manicures very frequently. After moving away from San Francisco, my bi-weekly manicure pedicure habit came to an abrupt end as I struggled to find a salon that could compare to my beloved Silk Nail Salon. I think my dry spell has come to an end.Lavender Nail Salon is a small salon tucked away in King Edward James Court. Four table and Three pedicure stations, it's charming and chic. The nail technicians are professional, very friendly and most importantly, they take their time and do a spectacular job! Seats are lines with big fluffy pillows, you are offered water upon arrival and the salon is filled with every womens magazine imaginable. The pedicure took roughly an hour, so be sure to go with plenty of time, you wouldn't want to miss out on that foot massage, would you? Read Less
