I have been coming to Nail Bar of Laurel Square since they opened. Best in Whittier! Everyone is great, but Julie is my favorite! She's very talented and always nails (pun intended) whatever weird design I ask her to replicate! Thank you, Julie! XO!Try to make an appointment, because they are busy! Place is aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful pedicure chairs, and clean interior; hence giving it 2 stars. I called ahead of time and was given a 'fill' price. Once the gentleman started his work he stated it would be $10 more due to the length of my nails and a repair on one. Ok, I'm already there... agree to new price. He didn't say much, other than telling me to go wash my hands and put my hands under UV dryer. If I may, I'll attach pictures to support my disappointment in quality of work. The tips are uneven, my natural nails underneath acrylic were not filed evenly alongside acrylic edges, he didn't turn my hands over and clean/sand down underneath my acrylic nail where fingertips collect gunk(my normal lady does), the worst part is that the acrylic/gel on my nail bed is so uneven. Some parts of acrylic is thick, bumpy, and I have air bubbles throughout my gel color. I can fix/file some things myself to make it look better but the latter items, I can't. I came here based on reviews I read. I will not be returning and next time my nail lady is on vacation (different salon), I'll wait for her to return. Maybe others have had better service and quality work. I only got my gel-fill, no pedicure... so can't comment on that service. SIDE NOTE: BRING CASH for tips!!! This is my daughter's 2nd trip. Princess COMBO $17; pls tell me why they charged me $27 because she requested design on each nail. Didn't mention final price until after the fact, I m disappointed. I was going to try this place out since my regular nail place is located in Eagle Rock; I should've known better. I walked out spending less than a hundred, not coming back I'm afraid. They do have a great selection of colors and wanted chrome. When I finally picked which chrome color, she tells me they don't have it. SMH why show me the other palettes if you do not have it. It gets better...then right before she's ready to do my nails, she informs me the package combo I got was $40, $15 additional for gel & they charge a separate fee for chrome. Total including my daughter's combo was $101. WOW! I decided to back out & got regular gel with design. There must've been a language barrier because I made sure she knew I only had $2 cash on hand & she said it was ok for me to add on tip as they charge $1 extra for using card. I left paying $93...it would be a different story if I got the full spa experience, but this wasn't the case. They provide a good job, just make sure you have cash in hand. I'm so grateful for this gem! I have been wanting to go get my nails done for a while.  I moved to Whittier a couple of months back and even heard of some patients at my optical office talk about how they went there to get there nails! So this last Sunday and I came in and I was totally that person that came in fifteen minutes before they closed (oops) and even though I told them I could come another day, they gladly took me in and took their time with me! Cute modern shop! And they offer you free water bottles haha. I got French tip on my toes with a full pedicure and gel on my nails and it was $45! THEY ONLY TAKE TIP IN CASH!!! try it out! Never going back again. I was a walk in and expected the wait. But they're super slow and eventually forget who walked in before who, then you end up waiting even longer for a seat. Got a pedi and waited almost an hour for someone to give me a fill. Mind you, the "walk-ins" that came in behind me were all about done. Couldn't take it any longer and eventually left. Today was my first time going to Nail Bar. I was referred by my friend Tiffany. Right when I walked in I was greated by Kevin. He was very pleasant and had me sit in a pedicure chair to start my pedicure while he finished his customers.I was very impressed with how clean everything was. The nail polish display behind the nail technicians is so beautiful. You get flower petals, orange slices and cucumber slices in your pedicure water. The pedicure chairs and the foot bowls are so nice. Kevin was very patient as I was very precise how I wanted my nails and he had horrible nails to work with. Kevin paid so much attention to detail and didn't rush even though they were very busy because they were short handed which so appreciated!They are a little pricier than I am use to BUT I will take a pricier clean location over a cheap dirty location any time!!I was very happy with my nails and will be back! The place is clean, the people are kind and the service is great. It was my first time at the nail bar, however my three star rating pertains to the request of tip. This was my first time visit and i did not know that cash tips were only accepted. I apologized to the lady that i was unable to give a cash tip but if she can just add it to my payment on my card, i promise to have cash next time. She was cool with it and asked how much to add and i told her to add $8. Four dollars for my pedi and four for my mother's pedi who i was paying for. She must have not been satisfied with the tip because as she is about to enter the amount, she pauses, turns back around and says, "how about $10, thats the minimum." Mind you there is no sign in the business that says minimum $10 tip. I was upset, but did not cause a scene. Instead cancelled my tip all together. The salon offers great service and a relaxing environment, but bad customer etiquette can easily overshadow a great job. Read Less

I will not recommend this place to anyone the worst salon ever. Horrible service, and workers who feel entitled to a tip. I'm so disgusted how one of the tec's named Jenny, gave my mom a hard time about her tip. (Shouting!! Why did she get a tip, where's mine?)  She was going to give it to her, but after being hassled for it! I don't think so. The older lady that did my pedicure, did such a bad job my nails weren't properly cut and the nail polish is so clumpy (nail polish was old, I guess). I suggest you stay clear from here. Read Less

I hate big thick nails and always ask for thin narrow ones but never get them.....until NOW! I didn't have high expectations but Nick did a great job and gave me exactly what I asked for! Not that I have a lot of experience with nail salons, but this is my "go to" place. They treat you well and do a great job. The fancy seats for pedi's are comfortable! It's maybe a bit pricey, however this is the place to go if you want to spoil yourself. I spent $25 on my pedi. Read Less

Terrible gel nails. Unclean edges, I can already tell these won't last me a week. Some nails are bumpy and the girl said that it was my nail!! LOL my gel nails have NEVER looked bumpy. Maybe it was the girl that serviced me but this was definitely one of the WORST gel manicures I've ever had. Read Less

This place is great! I have been in California now for 4 months, and tried several nail salons. This is the first one that I was truly happy with. It was a very nice place, friendly people, and I can now say I have found a nail salon I will go back to. I love my nails and Julie did a great job!
