Some of you have quite an imagination. I have been using this nail salon for more than a year and never experienced half of the lies I'm reading in these so called reviews. Google is not meant to deliberately tarnish a business without proper justification for doing so. I strongly suggest that some of you remember that you can be sued for defamation. Since some of you are complaining about a $20 nail job, I'm going to assume that you can not afford proper legal representation. The salon is not dirty, chairs don't blow up and they offer competitive rates. I highly recommend their business for non ignorant individuals who seek a pleasant experience and a job well done. They did an amazing job on my manicure and pedicure . Exactly what i wanted & they also waxed my eyebrows . Which I don't let just anybody do because I am very picky about my eyebrows . But I would definitely go here again Read Less

The only good thing about this place is Joy. Other than that I am very disappointed. I have been coming here for a few weeks because it's convenient but they are so rude and LIARS! I broke a nail and live 2 min away. Lisa answered the phone and told me Joy was not there and they were closed and leaving already. I pulled up and not only were they open, they had several people in there. Including Joy! And when I walked in they started laughing. Joy wasn't aware and was yelling at them when I told her. I've been going to this place for my manicures off and on over the past two years and I have to say, this place does such an amazing job! I had my first gel mani and pedi with them and, of course, I was more than happy with their work .. I hadn't expected for the women here to be so consistent over the years! Worst place to go!! I took my cousin, my daughter & I to this location & they weren't even done when I new there work was the worst I've seen. This was my daughters first time & I wanted it to be special for her but her nails lasted 3 days and the nail polish they used looked like clumps of nail polish(uneven). They finished my toes and nails in 15 min tops my nails were uneven The color was in clumps they were so bad they finished them & I told them this are the ugliest nails I've ever gotten, they tried to do them again but they started being so harsh with my nails I told them I can do a better job by myself. I told them my daughters nails were so ugly I wanted to cry just to see how bad they looked. I do nails, all I wanted that nice girls quality time and nice simple one color nails. Came in here about a week ago. I came to do my nails early in the morning when i had the day off. I came with my best friend because she's been going here for years and wanted to give it a shot. Walking out i was unhappy for 1. The lady was rushing to get them done. 2. After she finished she put every tool in the box without cleaning or sanitizing them. 3. She didn't clean up my nails Anyways 2 days in my acrylic nails started lifting. 4 days later 3 fell off and i noticed that there was sort if a dent in my nail. I walked in around 1pm today and only one customer in there. 2 girls working. Really really nice and welcomed me in immediately. I'm rating two stars for the pricing and lack of time spent on me-especially when there was only one other customer who finished 5 min into my service. The woman doing my gel pedicure was really sweet and I informed her my big toenail on my right foot was broken she said no problem we will put powder on it. I asked the price for a gel pedicure BEFORE she started and she said $30.00. That's REALLY expensive especially for the area-I don't even pay that much in HB for a gel pedicure. I had a $25.00 gift card & figured I would only have to pay the tip. For $30.00 they didn't even do callous removal. That's highway robbery. I used to go to 2 nail spas in cypress and for $30.00 you got the works and gel polish and the previous color removed. This is in a strip mall where nothing exciting happens-sorry star nails. No star for you. LOL. I asked again as she put the acrylic on my toenail to ensure the price didn't go up. Still $30.00. She began using a dremel(sp?) on my toenails and I said I don't have gel on so she began using regular cotton and acetone to remove what little color I had left of regular polish. She spent literally 20 min on the whole start to end process and spent about 30 seconds on each foot with the scrubber thing(weak) and then at the end said $33.00. I said you quoted me $30.00 she said oh $3.00 for the acrylic on broken toenail. I said ok sure whatever and then her tip suffered a) for lying and b) for lack of time spent on me. My leg and foot massage was about 3 min total. No joke. I see why this place has NUMEROUS bad reviews. It is sad-super nice employees but they lack in common sense and service and they also lie. Went in for a manicure. Being that there was no wait should of been a red flag. The salon had no nail color options only gel. No one was waiting yet my lady still rushed. I was not impressed with the finished product. Will not go back. Read Less

i was a walk in which i didnt expect to be taken 1st or in a hurry...but i asked how long the wait would be i was told 15 mins....i sat there for almost 30 mins...just be honest if its going to be an hour or so let me know and ill come back...lying isnt a way to start off any business deal!!!!!! I've been coming here for many years and I am satisfied overall with their service, however, over the summer, I have noticed that the place is disgustingly dirty and there were  roaches and bugs crawling on the floor this past visit.  I couldn't wait to get out of there.  I have reported them to the Health Department.  They need to clean and spray and maybe get inspected for other health issues. NO STARS if it was up to me. Came here and was rushed for a simple manicure. Vu was rough with my nails and cuticles, nearly cutting my skin. I don't understand why she rushed when the place was empty. Tools were used and placed back into their supply box without being sterile. Removal of gel was rushed and not taken off completely. I'm so disappointed with my nails...Got a full set and not even 2 days later they are lifting and the corners of my Polish is already coming off.. I've never had an issue like this before... I don't even want to waste my time going back in there to complain and have them fixed...Definitely will NOT be returning here.The only reason I'm okay with even leaving 1 star is because the girl doing my nails was very nice, and made sure to keep a conversation with me. Do you want to know the proper way to take off you acrylics? well, let me tell you this is not the place. I'm a cosmetologist and I just don't have the time to do my own nails anymore but I can tell you it requires soaking your nail in acetone!If the person doing your nails don't know this, you should! I just wrapped up my most recent visit to Star Nails and I feel the need to write about two things that impressed me. Let me start out by saying that Star Nails is not a luxury salon. If you're anything like me and you don't particularly care for "salon ambiance" and you just want a fast manicure/pedicure for a cheap price, this is the place for you. It's fast, it's cheap, and the girls are INCREDIBLY sweet. The first thing that impressed me was that they remembered me. The last time they saw me was 10 years ago. In Jr.High my mother and I would get our nails done every two weeks, but once I got into high school our financial situation didn't allow us small luxuries. I was incredibly impressed that these girls remembered who I was as well as remembering members of my family all these years later. The second thing I was very impressed with was how they treated a customer who wasn't what you want to deal with at work. He was making very inappropriate jokes, and in response they didn't yell at him nor encourage him. They politely laughed it off, and maintained a professional atmosphere. I was incredibly impressed with how they handled this client. The girls there are wonderful to see. They engage you in conversation, they do fast work, and it's at a good price. Lisa gets a full set acrylic with gel on top faster than anyone ive been to and it lasts the longest !!! She is a Miracle and makes my experience amazing !!! I Highly suggest booking an appointment with her..she's really talented at what she does ..and always keeps her own nails beautiful as well which is a skill !!! I HATE THIS PLACE! last time i went the spa chair broke and started to blow out smoke while i was still sitting. it started to burn me. after i got my work done the lady still had the guts to charge me for everything i got done $47!! never going back again and they are so pushy on trying to get you to get more stuff done.
