Even though I didn't pay for my mani/ pedi, (I received a gift certificate) I still feel ripped off.My experience started off great- they were able to get me an appointment same-day.  They even called me after making my appointment to let me know they had a cancellation and could fit me in earlier in the day!  The shop has a nice atmosphere when you walk in.  Very clean and calm.  Not the hugest selection of nail polish- but good enough and refreshingly not overwhelming.  And they also have these precious smaller-sized chairs with butterfly wings on the backs for little girls- so cute for a mommy and me manicure day!  And that is where all the good ends.  The actual service stinks. After I realized that my manicurist intended to only file and not cut my nails, I asked her to cut them as I prefer short nails.  She acknowledged my request, and promised to do so later during the course of the service, but never delivered on her promise.  The lady who was doing my pedicure at least asked if I wanted my toenails cut.  And I responded that I like them short.  But she cut them so little that she may as well have just filed them slightly just like her coworker did with my fingernails.  In fact, aside from my cuticles, which were done pretty well, you can't even tell that I've had a manicure.  My nails are as long as they were when I arrived, my fingernails have crud under them and even though I watched her buff my nails for a good period of time, they honestly look no shinier than before I walked through the door.  They call this a waterless manicure, but they should really call it a manicureless manicure.  I'm basically going to have to  just redo this myself or even go somewhere else within the week because my toenails are still so freaking long!  And at $51, which is what I would have had to pay if not for the gift certificate, I think they can do a lot better.  Bad enough that my time is wasted first here and then again having to go somewhere else for a do-over!  BBecause I'm a softie, I was actually still going to leave a tip.  I'm a sucker, but I often still leave a tip for subpar service because I feel guilty otherwise.  And then it came time for them to assist me with putting my sandals back on.  The lady decided they were too hard to put on my feet without ruining the polish (after barely trying), so she whipped out the standard "I forgot my sandals" paper flip-flops and told me to wait an hour before switching to my flip flops.  Anyone who has forgotten to bring their sandals to the nail shop knows that these paper ones are impossible to walk in without getting your feet absolutely filthy, as they don't really fit.  At least part of your foot ends up touching the ground with each step no matter how you try to walk in them.  Had I worn sneakers or come barefoot, that would be one thing- but I didn't.  She should have either a) put my flip-flops on BEFORE applying the polish or b) risked it and just touched up my polish if smudged.  Because I didn't want to immediately ruin the one good thing about my pedicure- my freshly scrubbed soles- I just ended up putting on my sandals by myself.  (Not one smudge, either!)I wouldn't come back here, even if someone else paid.
