This has to be by far the worst experience I've EVER had. I went in for a manicure, and as soon as we got started, the lady began using a machine nail filer on my natural nails. I am no nail expert, but I'm pretty sure that's one thing you DONT do. After I told her the pain she was giving me, she went on with the manicure and let me just say the work was terrible. It was very bumpy, and there was polish all over my fingers. I told her to remove everything. I no longer wanted this sitting on my nails, and she began blaming me? After what was little left of my nail, she says it wasn't her fault and that I should just get acrylics. UM NO WAY. And to top it all off, she still wanted me to pay her for the damage she did. When I nicely asked for a refund, she threw the receipt book at me and was very rude. Ladies, please, don't waste your money here. My nails are in DEEP pain and now I have to get them treated. I don't even know why I come here.... she rushed to do a simple nail color. Wtf!!!! Yet charged  $25 should have just gotten to michelles nails for $15. We are from Sacramento and thought it would be fun to get pedicures. This place was horrible! Raced through the pedicures with no massage, only lotion applied. My boyfriends technician and mine talked to each other the entire time not even looking at our feet. That's when she cut his toe so bad it bled and she didn't even apologize. We will never return. This is the worst place there is do not go there! They don't care about giving you good quality nails just about the money! My nails are so horrible especially a certain one! It came out so wrong the acrylic is bumpy and thick! I just got them done yesterday and today in the morning my nail is bleeding and looks like it's getting an infection! Worst place ever!! I used to go here once in a while just  because it was convenient All of there nail utensils that they use look very dirty and are not sanitary. One of my fingers got very badly infected and i got a a staph infection and turned out to be very painful and took a couple weeks to heal!! Ive stopped going to this place and have been going to other places lately and have noticed they skip a lot of the steps when giving manicures and pedicures and just rush through everything. They are not friendly and have bad customer service, the last time I came in there I was not greated and then two other walk-in came in after me and we're taken before me! Not clean. They used a towel on me for my manicure that as she was working on me I realized was used and even had dried acrylic on it. This became clear when she tried to dry off my fingers and it scraped my skin so hard it bled. After she already had cut my cuticle which bled on the same towel. I would go to Santa Cruz before I ever go back even through I live down the street. Now I'm worried about infection. Nasty. Read Less

I was hoping this would be a good spot for an after-work manicure every couple of weeks since they're on the way from my work to home, but I didn't have a very good experience. My nail tech was very nice, but unfortunately the manicure was pretty bad. There is a black streak on one nail that looks like marker or something, but it's under a layer of paint, so I can't get rid of it. I didn't like the gel polish brand they used - it streaked a lot and needed 4-5 coats, and she did one extra coat of everything (base, color, topcoat) on my left hand, like she was forgetting which hand she started with. I went in 6 days ago and am thinking I'll go somewhere else for a polish change today, because it's not looking very good as it grows out. My nail tech took a lot of extra time telling me about her daughter and showing me pictures on her phone, which was sweet, but I was tired from being at work all day and pretty hungry, so I wasn't really excited to spend the extra time just chatting, mid-manicure at the nail salon. When she finished my nails, she put her hand on my face (without asking) to tilt my head up and look at me. She told me she can fix my eyebrows for me too, next time I came in, because they were uneven. (I have a scar on one eyebrow, so I know this already.) The attempt at up-selling was lost on me because it was unprompted and a little insulting. I tipped her well because she really did try to do a good job and had good intentions, but I was unhappy all around with the service, so I won't be going back. Read Less

I absolutely LOVE coming here to Tina's Nails & Hair. I've been to other nail salons and it doesn't compare to Tina's Nails & Hair. They have a variety of gel colors. I request diffirent tech each time and all of them did an amazing job! Can't wait to come back! Read Less

I may have found my new favorite nail place! I went in last week for a gel mani and reg pedi and was unbelievably happy with both techs and my gel mani stayed absolutely perfect! To top, the owner was so sweet and helpful through my entire visit. Can't wait to return to this place! Read Less

I went in on a whim today since I needed to get my nails redo before a party tonight. The place looked cleaned and there were several women working and a chair was free.  Jennifer S- the Vietnamese are known for working in nail salons... no clue why it works out that way, but they drive from San Jose every day in order to work here in the Santa Cruz area. That goes for everyone non- aveda/ expensive spa place I have gone here in Santa Cruz and the Silicon Valley. Get over it.  They told you needed a hair cut because they wanted you to spend as much money as possible.Anyways- for 15 dollars I got an average manicure. I would say their forte here is acrylics/ fake nails.. for 35 dollars I saw some gorgeous sets with cute designs. I like my nails done square tips..some of them were uneven as were the french manicures... considering I had to go to the dollar store after wards.. I would go here again if I had to. Kim, my manicurist was really sweet. She really cleaned up my cuticles well... no bleeding here or from the other ladies that were getting their nails done. Additionally they do hair cuts, waxing, eyelash extensions and tattoo make up... It is a one stop shop, however I have my own places were I get waxed and cut, and would not trust anyone else.  Walk-Ins are welcome.. and they take Visa and Mastercard. They also ask you pay before you get your stuff done.. if you want to argue that out fine, but be forwarned. I would suggest bringing cash. Read Less
