Hi My family & I have been coming here for 17 years. She's a great hairdresser,#1 on Yelp for manicures & pedicures but in my book She's #1 for everything. I won't let anyone but her cut my hair but her. She also is a full beauty Salon, she does it all. Hair,Nails, Facials, Waxing, & permanent tattoos on eyebrows,eyeliner & lips. I have all of those. She cuts children's hair too & colors hair, She's a great hairdresser but also an awesome person. You have got to go to her shop but you must call ahead for an appointment. So happy with my cut done today!  May really knows her stuff.  She's experienced and knows how Asian hair works.  She has very loyal clients because they all know she can get the job done right.  She knew just by looking at my Grown out ombré that I've had some trouble with hair stylists in the past. (It was a previous hack job that I had to get fixed twice!)  I'll be coming back to have her do my bayalage as soon as I can get back to see her.Just make sure to call ahead to book an appointment because she books up quickly.  Well-deserved 5-stars. I stopped in to May's and was able to book an appointment for later the same afternoon.  I needed a corrective hair cut (from another stylist at a different salon), and I'm so pleased at how she explained what she was doing.  What impressed me is that she didn't slam the other stylist....she said my hair is a bit difficult to cut.  But she knew what to do, and I am very happy!  I booked another appointment before leaving, and I am confident May is my new hair cut specialist!  It's rewarding when you find someone who loves her craft and makes you feel special!  May is extremely friendly and exceptionally professional! I have been coming to May's for the last 8 years now (since 2007) and my mother the last 9 years (since 2006) and we have never been dissatisfied with her work. My mother has gotten dye-jobs, perms, trims, cuts, you name it, from May and they have always looked great. I have personally gone through 4 different hair-styles and she has made each and everyone look great! I have 3 cowlicks and she has always made great suggestions on cutting and styling to get the best out of my hair-style. I am usually in San Francisco nowadays and am only in Union City a few times a month, but I always make sure to be down here whenever I need a haircut because I do not trust anybody else with my hair other than May. She takes appointments and walk-ins, but I encourage making an appointment because she is usually booked!Recommend to men and women of all ages! Read Less

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE ASIAN LADY THAT OWNS THE SALON OR WHATEVER SHE IS! So I came today to get my eyebrows done and the Asian lady came out and started gettin mad at the lady that was doing my eyebrows saying that she didn't throw away her Taco Bell making a scene in front of customers. You should never cause a scene while customers are there. The Asian lady could have told her in private instead of yelling it to everyone in the salon. Can you say the WORST FIRST EXPRESSION EVER! I've been going to this salon since I was 11 years old, and now I'm 19! May treats me as if I'm her own daughter and I love it, she takes really good care of my hair and knows exactly what color to dye it even if I say I just want a light brown color. I don't really have to show her either because that's how much I trust her and know how great she is at what she is doing. She cuts exactly the way you want it, believe me ladies! It's always hard to trust someone new with your hair but May is the right person to go to. I've gotten layers from her, but still being able to keep my length and she even takes the time to style your hair after she's finished!Also, she has a mani and pedicure station in the back as well.Yesterday I went to get my brows waxed from her and a touch up on my roots. Brows are $10, but there's also threading available for only $5! Her name is Cony who threads brows and she also does henna :) how cool! although her pricing is $5 I did over hear her charge someone $3 because the person didn't have a lot of eyebrows to begin with (so it all depends). Also, before she threads your brows she asks you questions if you've ever tweezed them, what shape you're looking for (arched, medium, etc) which shows she knows exactly what she's doing. I've always wanted to try threading my eyebrows but never had the guts to walk in somewhere I'm unfamiliar too, so it's nice to know that May hired someone who knows how to thread eyebrows!Threading **cash only** !! May did permanent eyebrows for me five years ago and they still look great. She was able to fix the mistakes from the first artists attempt  and make them look more natural.  Came back to her name them a little thicker for me and do a deeper arch to fit my style now. This is the best place to get pampered all at once. I just dyed my hair and waxed my eyebrows and got a mani and pedi.They have sweet staff and ask for May when you stop by. She's a wonderful person. I'm sure you will love it as much ad I did. She even put cartoons for my son. Read Less

I've been going to May's for 3 years. Not only does she give me great haircuts all the time, but she has helped in removing a tattoo I no longer wanted. Also, my girlfriend loves the haircut and hair coloring she does. In fact all of my family goes there and is satisfied everytime. May is a great friend and person to talk to for advice and what not.
