Not impressed.  I called ahead of time toschedule a full pink and white fill and when I got there I said I wanted a full fill, not a back fill. Instead Tom  (who I was told was the best) decided to take off all of the acrylics for absolutely no reason, put tips on because now the length of my nails are gone and I would up with a full new set that I did not need and the shape looks like crap and several of my nail beds are bruised.   I won't be back. My appointment for a pedicure was with the owner. Another person came into the shop as a walk-in. He stopped doing my pedicure to attend to her manicure and left me sitting there. About 15 minutes later, I had to ask another employee if he was coming back to finish and she told me my pedicure was done, which it wasn't. I paid my bill, no tip, and left. For the following month my large toe hurt and appeared to be getting infected. Turned out to be an ingrown toenail caused by improper trimming. So, no, I will not be returning. Read Less

Went in for 3 pedi's, dried nails for 20 minutes each, nail polish smudged within 15. Went to see if they could do just a partial refund because we didn't have time to have it fixed then dry for another 20 minutes each. They refused to work with us, including the boss. Very unhappy. Oh they also only had 3 people doing pedi's when I had an appointment for 3, so we had to wait while other people were helped/finished. Read Less

I had  a spa pedicure today  at TJ nails.   The lady who did it was bothered when I asked her what kind of oil she was doing massaging my legs with.  I asked her what the other products were that she was using - I was genuinely curious, just simply wanted to know.  The second time I made an inquiry she was even more upset.  My questions were never answered. The way she treated me was humiliating .However she did do a good job technically.  Quiet good.   The nail polish was low quality and took a very long time to dry (not OPI).  I  had planned to tip her generously - but changed my mind in the end.  I would not return for another  unkind experience like that.  I noticed that everyone who worked there NEVER smiled !  Unfriendly place. Today my daughter had her nails painted for winter ball first of all, she had an appointment at 4:30and they didn't start her until 5:30ish then when she asked for a gold with glitter, apparently that color cost $8 more which they didn't tell her. Her toes and nails just to be polished cost $55! It looked terrible and they were so rude! I will never come back! I used to come here all the time when Juana and Roy worked here but never again!!! This is the second time I've been to tj's and they misunderstood what I wanted for my pedicure. The first time was Valentine's Day and I wanted a simple heart on my big toe and it came out looking like a funky guitar pick. This time I wanted two colors mixed in order to have a nice fall color going on, and the dude forgot to put the second color on. After asking for the second color, he put it on ONE toe. The very first time I went, I loved it. They did I good job. There was a Mexican girl working named Diana, she was awesome. After that, the times I've gone back, horrible. I've gone back to see if maybe it was just me. Nope, horrible job. And I haven't seen Diana there anymore either. I hate this place and their second place. I came here with my mother in law who lives locally. Within 2 days my nails were chipping and my gel manicure was lifting. Within 5 days the light pink was discolored. I payed more here than I would pay in SF and the quality was incredibly poor. They were very friendly, but that doesn't make up for the fact that I paid to have my nails look beautiful and last me 2 weeks for my vacation and it didn't even last enough time for me to leave on my vacation. Whenever I visit my family in Ukiah, we always go out to get our nails done. And this is the place to go!! I love how friendly they are and how nice the place is. I usually request for Jack but I still enjoy my time with anyone else. Read Less

I came in for a quick pedi because my toes were looking super jacked. My technician was super thorough and meticulous about cleaning, clipping and filing. Her paint job was on point and there isn't any polish "ring" around the toenails. I'm quite satisfied with the job she did. If I'm in the area again, I'd return. Read Less

I've been getting pedicures here at TJ's from different nail techs over the last 4 years.  It's an hour & a half drive from were I live, so it's always a great treat to have an excellent pedicure after my long day of errands. The massage chairs & friendly staff are fabulous too! Read Less

Ooo boy.. Im so sad I need to b the one to write this review but PLEASE DO NOT GO IN TO DO PEDICURE THER! THIS PLACE WILL GIVE U FUNGUS ! The minuet u get fungus is the hardest thing to get read off!! Do your self a favor and check in another place!! I never never had fungus in my life and after taking off my polish they do i notice the fungus :(( i cant even explain how sad and embarrassed i am. Do your self and dont get in there :(!!! Stevie Wonder could have done better job (and probably been nicer too)I walked in, asked for a manicure, they looked shocked. LiKe I had 3 eyes.Finally sat down and the workers laughed and chuckled and spoke in Vietnamese and looked at me. And then the routine repeated. The search continues...I had a decent pedicure. The gal was very friendly. We didn't chat much because her English was limited but she had a sweet disposition, although a somewhat ubrupt way about her movements. The place was packed. It seemed like they overbooked because they were accepting walk-in's while ladies with appointments were made to wait. Their polish selection was on the weak side but I managed to find one of my favorite OPI colors.Even though the ceilings are high and the door was open, the place had a very strong chemical smell.When I used the lady's room I noticed it wasn't very clean at all.The massage chairs are nice and new which was my favorite part about this place, other than the easy-going locals who are quick to start up a conversation. $30 for a pedi. I must admit I thought it was a little steep for Ukiah. I noticed a place of Ford Rd. today which I plan on trying next time. Read Less

My mom and I looked forward to our day in Ukiah while visiting over the holidays and getting mani/pedis was a special treat--something we don't get to do very often. Being from out of town we didn't know where to go but wanted to support a downtown business rather than a mini-mall operation at settled on Today's Nails since it was right in the heart of Ukiah. Our experience, sadly, is not one I would recommend to anyone who wants even a basic nail service. There was no visible spa menu so prices were vague until we asked. The bathroom was in a sorry state and reminiscent of a truck stop. Because there was no sign-in procedure we ended up waiting more than we might have if they had had a system to organize all of the walk-ins. The nail drying area was dusty and unpleasant, though we did finally find the magazine which were, sadly, not apparent during our initial wait. The woman who did my mani was pleasant and polite but the polish job could have been more thorough. I especially disappointed to discover that when my mom went to pay for her services they added some charges beyond what she had asked for "the essential mani/pedi" for 35.00 so by the time she left she was paying 45.00, apparently having received other upgrades, even though she had been clear that all she wanted was the basic package, nothing extra. She left feeling as though they had taken advantage of her and worse, when she looked at her toe nails, the filing was uneven (as was the polish for my mani). These kinds of let-downs would be easier to live with if the place had been clean, there had been someone to greet us and explain the waiting procedure and offer us a magazine to read. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this place unless you have a particular nail tech you can trust and bring your own polish since their supply seemed like it was rather old, although they do carry a selection of OPI colors.
