Small older woman was yelling at me come in and they could do my mani and pedicure.  She was so anxious and kept yelling at me hurry get color and hurry sit down.   They didn't work on me for 15 minutes and only 1 thing at a time.  Use dirty files that are so old with nothing left on them.  Will not be returning. Never again will I come here! First and LAST time! First of all, I was bounced around 3 times, from one chair to another. 3 different people worked on my nails. Had to explain everytime what I wanted. While getting my nails, done the man nail "specialist" cut my finger with his own nail! What the Heck?! I was so upset! We found Nail Expo on a fluke .it was getting late on a Saturday evening and I wanted my nails done for church on Sunday.Lynn, the owner and her staff welcomed us in and took great care of us that was six years ago and I still continue to come here even though I moved to Garden Grove. I have met soooo many great people there who are long time Customers.They take walk ins, but if there are more then 2 in your party for Manis and pedis I'd get an appt even though you may still have to wait a few minutes. Had gone to this place many years ago.  Decided to try it again because my regular pedicurist was not doing a good job anymore.   When I arrived, they were very friendly.  The manicurist was very nice and friendly UNTIL she handed me the "menu" and I said that I just wanted a basic pedicure. Her attitude totally changed.  She did a mediocre job and left out steps that I had to remind her of.  Also, she stopped mid-massage to jump up and do something else and never resumed the massage.  I was hoping to go back to this place and make it my regular pedicure place, but I doubt I will be returning.  All of these places are getting carried away with this "MENU THING" and it is getting ridiculous!  They charge you more money for the same inadequate services!! Omg seriously whenever I'm in town and in need of a pedicure I come here! They have super reasonable prices and a lot cheaper than my nail salons in south county. They always do such an amazing job! I only got a pedicure today but I should have taken a before and after, they made my toesies look great, now I can wear sandals for Mother's Day! Walked in last night, only two women were getting their nails done, but there was three women working.  I was asked what I wanted and I said a fill. One of the women without a work coat told me to sit down, I sat there for about 5 min without knowing what was going on. The lady that Sat me down started sweeping. Then the other lady finished with her customer and came over to me and told me sorry. She proceeded to start my nails. I chose a gel polish. I started to notice that I didn't like how narrow she was filing a few of my nails, she said it was ok, but I told her that it needed to be wider. The gel polish wasn't going on well, and she told me it was new and that it was very difficult for her and that she liked another gel polish. The lady that was sweeping asked if i wanted a pedicure, i yold her no. The two lady's that worked there ended up leaving, and she made sure to tell me that she didn't like that she was being left alone before closing, that those two women come in late and leave her there alone, and that she ends uo doing everything for them. She applied three coats, it was a mess! My nails are lumpy and I was VERY disappointed but I paid the $26 and gave her a $5 tip, I kind of felt bad for her, she was upset about being left alone.  I waited for her at the door as she closed up. I've been coming for 8 years the service hasn't changed as much I only come here because it is 5 minutes away from home. Each time I request a gel color they seem to mess it up with a different color this has happened twice. I'd like to receive what I am paying for. I've been going to this place for weeks and today just made me think twice. This place is like shit!!! Just got done talking to a rude man who did not know what I was talking about. I asked him about some of the facials they do and he said don't ask me right now. I'm too busy. I asked him if I can speak to someone else. He said no. "You're taking up time and I'm busy". I've been coming to Jerry, the owner (I think that's his name) for many years I've lost count and no one else. He usually does a good job. My nails don't lift he doesn't leave glue all over the place. However, I was just very disappointed this last time I came in for a fill. He did a very sloppy job :(. My almond-shape nails were uneven, some almond some oval- shaped. The nail polish was messy and it wasn't even busy at all. . I had to file the sides myself to fix the acrylic on the edges of my nails. Again, very dissapointed but I will still give them a 4 star review rating as this was my worst experience yet. This place is a hole in the wall, the service is below average and the decorating is super hodgepodge! When I walked in I said I just needed a manicure and no lie the ladies asked me 3 more times if I wanted a pedicure!!! I said "no thanks just hands".Any Who they tried to sell me on a paraffin hand dip and when I declined the worker didn't seem that happy with me. Either way the manicure was all of 20 minutes long and consisted of the worst hand massage. The girl never went passed my wrist! Came in last Thursday at 6:15 pm with no appointment and they took me in even though they close at 7pm. I  got  a full acrylic set for $18! Kathy was the manicurist who did my nails. She was very politely and as we got to talking she informed me she has been doing nails for 15 years!  She didn't rush me at all and took her time to get my nails just right! I am very particular about my nails because I need to have them short for work, like really short! Usually, at other locations I feel like they get mad at me for wasting the plastic nails since I have them cut off more than half the length. But Kathy was great she cut them exactly like I liked and when painting them she was super kind and did an extra top coat that made my nails look extremely shiny. The place looked fairly clean and organized. However, my one pet peeve is hearing the employees constantly speak Vietnamese when customers are present. You don't have to speak the language to know that are talking smack about other customers. I just went to this nail salon last weekend for the first time for a gel manicure. Even though my nails look fine, I don't think I'll be going back. I went with a friend, and she wanted a gold accent on one of her fingers. The manicurist told her that the color she wanted wasn't going to look good, and they went back and forth. She gave in and went with the lady's recommendation, but she really didn't like the result. They don't look good at all. Just got my lashes filled by the lovely Anna at nail expo! I was in a rush and desperate to find a place local to give me a eye lash extension fill. Anna wasnt even working this sunday but she came in anyway to see me. I was in and out within an hour. The last few times ive had fills, they took almost 2 hours and they still didnt look as great as i wanted them to be. She made the lashes lay perfectly with the way my eye shape is, they look extremly natural! I booked my next appointment before i even payed. This is my friend's go to place and in a bind I decided to stop in.First off, they left me soaking in the chair for 10 minutes while I was waiting...which isn't a big deal since I got to enjoy the massage.However the girl kept trying to push products and services on me.  Just give me a pedicure!!At the end when I asked for change, she said she only had 2 $5s - which is impossible because nail salons always have singles.  She bamboozled another $1 out of me. I've been a loyal customer for the past year!This place is very convenient for me since it is very close to my job and their prices are very affordable.You pay $15 for a basic spa pedicure and you certainly get your money's worth. The pedicure included like a two minute massage for each foot. This is heaven when you walk in heels 5 out of 7 days of the week. (not recommended for the foot squeamish). Cathy is my go-to gal! She does my pedicure, eye brows, and nails. I have referred a few people here so she always goes the extra mile. I find myself struggling with how to rate Nail Expo.I've been coming here on-and-off since the middle of my college years... so roughly 2005. Every time I came, I was greeted by the same ladies and received top notch, dedicated service. Even when I moved away to the U.K. and came here on visits home, the ladies were wonderful and even remembered me. I felt special. It's hard to feel 'special' at a nail salon, that gets... how many patrons?Anyway, I came this past Sunday, as I knew I was going to be in the Tustin area. Nail Expo has expanded to a larger location just a few doors down from where they were previously. Good for them!I was told about a 10 - 15 minute wait. 45 minutes later... I was finally seen. That aside, the whole time my nails were being done, it felt like a complete rush. Everyone was running around- busy, busy, busy. There wasn't that 'dedication' that I used to love about this place.They seem to have brought on a semi-receptionist, who's just responsible for asking what you want done. (This used to be done by one of the technicians.) She just seems to wander around, and I'm not yet sure of her purpose, 'cos she certainly can't predict wait time.Nevertheless, I left with absolutely flawless french manicured nails - so I'm happy.Based on my last experience - I would have given this place two stars.
