Ive been here twice, once for eyebrows and once for nails. Ill give them 2 stars for the eyebrows, they did ok for what I had to work with. As for the nails I give them 1 star. I went in with my sister and we both got manicures, first nobody in their had any idea what a REAL gel nail is. They continued to try and convince me that acrylic nails covered in gel polish is the same, sorry but no its not. The woman who did my nails was not focused at all, she rushed through the whole thing and was constantly getting up and answering the phone. The nails came out ok, a few uneven thicknesses/crooked. Way overpriced for that service. Also they all live in sacramento so they arent even local. I dont recommend this place, im going to look for somewhere that keeps tahoe local. Read Less

Went while on a weekend get away for pedi's with the girls. I waited over an hour with my feet in cold water while my friends all got their pedis. The lady that finally did my pedi didn't say a work to me. She was so hard on my feet. She clipped around my toes until I was bleeding and when I pulled away and yelled she was annoyed. My toe was bleeding. She took the pumas to my feet and again I pulled away and screamed in pain. She just stared at me. I get pedicures every 4 weeks at home and have never been cut or scrubbed so hard that I screamed. Tonight my toes are raw and red and it is painful to walk.  I would avoid this place completely. I just had a terrible humiliating experience with this nail salon.  I want to bring it to the attention of other people that may consider coming to this nail salon.  Yesterday I made an appointment with a gentleman who answered the phone.  I indicated I needed a fill using gel and shellac as the polish, he said no problem they can do it for $35.  I made an appointment for the next day.  I walked in and saw the person I talked to over the phone.  I showed him my nails and he said go sit down and pick out the nail color.  I reiterated the service I wanted and confirmed that the price was $35.  Again I indicated I wanted the fill.  I sat down down at the   manicure station and the manicurist began tearing at my nails trying to lift and remove them.  She was using clippers and a artificial nail to remove the nail.  This was causing me a great deal of pain.  Three times I said ouch and asked her to be more careful she never apologized.   I also said I would be in a lot less pain if she could soak the nail off .  She let me soak several nails this way but not the others. The pain continued due to the fact she was poking and prodding my nail bed.  I asked her several times why she was removing my artificial nail rather than doing the agreed upon fill.  She never answered.  Her command of the English language was very poor.  She attempted to tell me something however I asked her multiple times to repeat it due to the fact that I could not understand what she was saying.  Finally another manicurist translated it and said I needed to pay a extra $5 on top of the $35.  I indicated that I asked the man I talked to at the salon several times for the price and he said $35.  The manicurist said he doesn't know since he doesn't do the gel nails.  Finally they agreed not to charge me extra.  I should mention that during this process I googled nail salons and what things to be aware of.  It indicated if a salon attempts to remove the artificial nail instead of a fill its a red flag.  It's a red flag because a fill provides strength to the nail.  If the nail is removed there is not any protection since the nail underneath does not have the protection of the extra layers that the artificial nails offer.The manicurist started applying gel over my bare nail I indicated that I had never seen it applied like that.  At this point the man that quoted me $35 asked me to leave because I was not being nice. My nails were half done. I provided pictures to show what the manicurist  did.  The nails were different lengths and were not filed down before the gel was applied. She left the nails jagged and uneven.  I walked out the door and I was followed by one of the manicurists who said I owed $10.  I said to her the nail removal procedure was extremely painful.  She looked at my nails and said there's not any blood.  My reply was that a person can feel pain without involving blood.  I gave her the $10 and was never offered a apology.  I would hate anyone experiencing the negative service I received! I live in the cape for the summers. Found this place last year. So this past Saturday I decided to go again. I walked in, they asked me what I wanted. I said a gel manicure and pedicure. They said okay we can take you now. Told me to have a seat. A very short man did my nails, he seemed like he was in a bad mood. I thought it was weird he didn't soak my hands, or use cuticle gel. Oh well I was looking forward to my pedicure because I really needed one. As I sat there multiple... walk ins came in asking for pedicures. They took them right in. Just before my nails were done a women came in and said can I get a pedicure? The man doing my nails said yes, 10 minutes. He then gives me my total. I said oh I'm getting a pedicure too. He said no we don't have time. I said I asked for a pedicure an hour ago when I came in before all these ppl. He yelled no come back tomorrow! I was so shocked I said no thanks I won't be back! I have lived in Tahoe for 7 years and gone here a several times but usually go to Reno. This time, I was pleased with the overall experience at first. It has been three days since I got gel polish and it is already chipping. I have gotten my nails done for 10 years. More recently gel polish for over 2 years. Its never chipped in three days. I can usually go about 4 weeks! I returned three days later and requested a full refund. The gentleman was completely rude. He even stated "you probably just didnt like the color, so you picked." Its my real nail and I just paid $35.50 and its a color that I chose. I'm not going to ask for a refund over a color I chose. I highly recommend Happy Foot Nail and Spa in Reno. I've been coming here for the last 5 years and have yet to be disappointed. They are extremely nice and pay attention to detail of what you want. Ashley did a beautiful and awesome job. I would highly recommend to get both a pedicure and manicure done. Also if you get a full set, ask for a hand massage, it may cost a little extra but definitely worth it! I am always stoked on this place.Their chairs for pedicures are wonderful at any given time of day, and the place is really clean.Most of the time they can squeeze you in right away, but I always call to get an appointment just in case.I highly recommend if you are in the north Lake Tahoe area. I have been going to Sassy Nails for two years and have always been more than happy with my nails, the atmosphere, and staff. I used to see Mike for gel manicure and regular pedicure, until the last year when I switched to gel tips, which are AMAZING, and I now see Ashley (she specializes in gel tips). The people who work here are really kind. It is a real testament to them since some of them drive all of the way from Sac to work here (that would make me grumpy).One of the ladies who knew how to give Brazilian waxes stopped working there, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, but nobody else at this salon is very skilled at this.I'm sure every other service here is great as it's always busy, but go elsewhere for a Brazilian wax. So my friend is getting married and we want to go get our nails done before we head out to the venue that is in the middle of nowhere.  We end up here because this is "THE" place to go in Truckee.  Well, if that's the case, that is pretty sad.  We had a 10 AM appointment and were on a tight schedule so the time of our appointment was very important.  We show up at 10 and nobody is there.  We are thinking this can't be real, right? A woman was out front and said that 80 was closed and they were all running late, but they would call us to have us come in as soon as they arrived.  We left and knew we would be behind to load up our cars and leave for the venue, however, we didn't anticipate being over an hour behind.  Running late would have been forgivable, however, they came across inconvenienced and rude.  They did not apologize at all, the guy that did my nails did not apply the gel correctly (I do my own gel nails and he skipped the base and top coats) so my manicure starting to come off within a week  whereas my home applied gel manicure lasts 2-3 weeks.  He did not talk to me even once.  He just pointed and made odd noises.  I finally had to tell him he needed to communicate what he was saying correctly with words because grunting is not speaking.  I paid $75 for the bride's gel french tip and my basic gel manicure.  When you pay that much you expect quality and service.  We received neither.  NEVER AGAIN Read Less

ABSOLUTELY UNSANITARY!! This establishment reuses the same tools on customers over and over and over. My cousin and I got pedicures here while she was visiting and she contracted Gangrene in her foot and had to go to the hospital for 2 weeks!! Also, the lady that does eyelash extensions here, Trish, does a horrible job and uses way to much glue and also doesn't carry the remover solution! Worst pedicure ever for $35.  The middle age gentleman working this salon gave me a pedicure in 1/2 hour!!! and spent more time on my calf massage than anything else.  Nails were trimmed crooked and at various lengths, calluses remained rough, cuticles barely neatened, polish slopped outside the toe nail onto skin.Witnessed an frustrated client who waited 1/2 hour for her appointment and left.Word travels fast in Truckee, go somewhere else for a pedicure.
