I decided to go to this salon because it was my only choice. I needed to get my nails done before I left for a trip the morning after. At first sight I thought the place was gorgeous. I asked for a mani-pedi sat down and had 2 ladies working in my nails.I felt uncomfortable right away because the girl who did my toes started asking questions about where I went to get my nails done before and continued to talked smack about them. I don't know too much about nails so when I couldn't answer her questions she looked angry and spoke in a tone like I was lying to her. The lady who did my fingers cut my skin so much that it continued to bleed for a day. After a week my toes started to get a bacterial infection. Unsanitary! I went to another nail salon in the area to help with clean it off and I was so glad I did because she explained what I can do to treat the bacteria and how many nail salons do now clean their equipment! Every time I come here, I am always pleased with the end result. My favorite manicurist is HANA. She is AMAZING! She's funny, sweet and very caring, I cannot say enough about her. She always takes her time and never makes you feel rushed even when they're busy. I'll never forget my first experience here, I came after another nail salon did so much damage to my nails, Sugar Nail was going to close in about 25 minutes and she spent time to give my nails the attention they needed. Not recommending this place to anyone! I was at the mall for the Black Friday sale yesterday and went to get my nails done to rest for a bit. They had the 1-day promo of $35 for regular mani-pedi (didn't check how much the regular price is). I paid extra $5 bucks for french tip. And oh boy, it was a disappointment! Seems like I went to a very cheap place with the kind of results I got! The nails had the feather-like marks from the cuticle pusher and there were white marks by the cuticle area when the polish dried-up. I only saw that outside under the natural lights. BEWARE! Stay far away if you like to keep your blood count high. My left pinky, left thumb and right middle finger were all cut. 4 hours later and my thumb is still bleeding! The manicurist was so apologetic and I know she didn't intentionally mean to hurt me, but LADY THIS IS YOUR JOB! You should know when you're digging too far into the cuticle! I didn't get her name, but she was an older woman. When I checked-out I asked the front desk for a discount. They said they needed permission from my manicurist - which leads me to believe she was the owner/manager. For a $60 total (gel mani + reg pedi) she would only give me $5 off. I took a band-aid and paid before leaving only to have to return 3 minutes later to get a second band-aid from them when my thumb continued to gush. This led to them giving me another $5. How generous. And now I'm angry for not reading Yelp sooner since other reviewers said they were cut too! I walked into sugar nail one day and was introduced to my favorite girl HANA! She is the best! She will make sure you are happy with your nails!! I've been coming into sugar nail for her for months now, each time with different unique designs and she ALWAYS GETS ME 100%! I've been impressed with the eyelash service I've received from Sherry. I've been getting my lashes done here for several months and I'm very happy with them especially since they have been using a better grade of adhesive which makes a huge difference. Read Less

I came in today (7/7/16) and although I really like how my nails and toes came out I felt the need to leave a review. On the topic of the nails themselves I'd give it a 5 stars. However I was injured TWICE during my mani pedi. Once when my middle finger's cuticle  was cut, this I would have let slide. But the other cut was on my toe and it hurt so bad! The pedicurist, Hana, told me my toenails were starting to become ingrown. She mentioned it casually so I thought she was just letting me know. A few moments later I felt a pain in my toe and she told me she was trying to fix the ingrown. I wished she'd let me know before hand so I could tell her to leave it alone, when she told me she'd cut my skin she was very nonchalant and not at all apologetic. I've tried this place out about 3-4 times each time hoping to like it better the next time. But I'm going to be real, the service is not great and it's pricey. Every time I get a spa pedi and each and every time not only are they too rough but they don't take there time and the polish job is horrid. I actually polish my own nails better. I literally almost didn't pay, that's how horrible my nails & feet are! I got a gel polish & "French tip pedicure" for $45 not that bad, but for the work they did it is! Seriously there is white gel polish ALL over my nails, and my toes look worse then when I came in! She didn't even clean my feet, probably the fastest pedicure I've gotten in my entire life.. I have yet to find a good nail salon around here and I swear my experience just keeps getting worse! I've been here three times and twice I walked out because the wait was 1-1.5 hours. They didn't have many technicians that could wax eyebrows so being a walk-in isn't the best. I feel if you're at the mall you should probably be more prepared for walk ins. When I did get my eyebrows done they were great! I just haven't been able to get in since! I made an appointment to come back the second time but they called me well past the two mark and I had left the mall. Appears to be a clean place, everyone I've experienced seems to be nice... heck, I appreciate her saying she didn't have anyone to do eyebrows instead of giving me someone who messed them all up but again, I think they should be better prepared for walk-ins. Came in for just a regular mani pedi.  When I asked how much the gel was for hands and feet,  they said $45 for feet and $35 for hands.  I was like What!!!!  That is too pricey.  I just stuck with the regular mani pedi for $35 bucks.  They were quick, didn't talk to me much, and the girl that did my nails  didn't even smile.  My massage chair was not turned on and I didn't realize it until I was almost done.  Other than that,  I like the fast service.  But I think it is still too overly priced for gel mani pedi. I usually go to the nail salons near by my house, but since Sugar Nail closes at 9:00pm on weekdays, which works with my schedule better. I give 4 stars because the detailed attention they paid to every corner of my nail, even thought I came in at 8:20pm. The selections of colors are much more than other salons which I've been to, especially the nude color selection. All staffs are super friendly, we had a good chat. HORRIBLE! Sugar Nail was recommended by one of my friends, so I reluctantly decided to give the place a  try despite the poor Yelp reviews. I made an appointment on Saturday at 10am to get a full set of acrylic nails for prom. I wanted Bee to be my nail technician, as that is who my friend recommended. However, the receptionist on the phone told me that Bee does not work Saturdays. I arrived for my appointment at 9:50. I picked out my color and waited 10 minutes until 10:00. I ended up waiting an extra thirty minutes until 10:30 because my technician, Sherry, was late. While I was waiting, Bee walked in, despite the receptionist telling me that Bee does not work on Saturdays. Even before my appointment began, I felt lied to. Once Sherry arrived, she began to do my nails. She filed my bare nails with the file machine and nearly took off all the layers of my nails. She grabbed my hands so hard that I felt I was going to have bruises because of her. In addition, she kept pulling my arm violently towards her and told me to stop being so stiff. I was being cautious because she kept filing my skin with the machine. It hurt and burned. One occasion she filed so rough, her hand slipped and the drill filed my bare skin on my knuckle. Throughout the entire appointment, Sherry seemed disconnected from her work and distracted. Sherry constantly complained about how hungry she was and let out loud sighs whenever another customer walked in the door. As my nails were for prom, I wanted to get a design with several gems. I expected Sherry to use fake gems that were relatively inexpensive. Half way through doing the gem designs, Sherry told me that she was using Swarovski Crystals. Never at any point during my appointment was I informed of the extra charge because Sherry chose to use these crystals. These crystals ended up costing me an extra $65. This was a complete waste of my money as I would have told Sherry not to use such expensive crystals. However, I was never even given an option to choose which type of crystals. Even when Sherry began using the expensive gems, I was never told the price.Two days after my appointment, on Monday, I noticed while sitting in class that my cuticles were bleeding. My nails in general are very painful because Sherry filed them so thin. THIS WAS THE MANICURE FROM HELL. SUGAR NAILS IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!! Read Less

New nail salon inside Del Amo mall near Nordstrom. Cute, clean and chic nail salon. The first time I went was with my friend and was a bit confused as to why they didn't have matching gel polish and regular nail polish. I chose a Tiffany blue gel for my manicure and had to choose the best match for my pedicure. The person who did my manicure was okay..she was constantly checking her cellphone...BIG NO NO! Hello..client over here paying for undivided services. Annoyed. My manicure was messy and started to turn brown a week later. Second visit was much better....yes I returned. I asked the owner if somebody can do a French manicure design (showed a Pinterest image) and she had Rayna (not sure of spelling) do it. She was very patient and attentive. Very articulate and made sure the design was exactly what I expected yes. ON POINT! Spent a bit more, $20 extra for the design plus $3 for my pedicure polish that was supposedly shinier and lasts longer?!?! Ohhhhkay. Why the 3 stars? No matching polish, technicians gloves seems over used and ripped and still not sure about the additional $3 charge because of polish quality?!? I expect quality nail polish if I'm paying the price regardless....I understand the design but longer lasting polish charge?!?Down to 2 stars!!! If I could give negative stars I would.  Least relaxing mani pedi I have ever had. I called and made reservations for my friend and myself for both of us to have pedicures, acrylic nail fill and gel on our hands. We got there, and had no such appointment and waited 30 minutes to be seen. At which point there was only someone to do our manicures and not our pedicures.  Needless to say the girl who did my nails should not be doing acrylic nails. None of my nails match and they are lumpy and sharp.After they finished our manicures/fill we asked for our pedicures and the girls complained that they did not know we wanted pedicures (even though I had made an appointment and told them when we arrived.. I even gave them the gel color for my hands and the nail polish for my toes) While our pedicures were being done I noticed the girl had been wearing the same gloves the entire time while doing my manicure, cleaning her work station and she was now starting my pedicure.  I didn't question her at first because I did not want to be rude and thought there was no way she walked around the salon touching random things to clean and then continued my pedicure. However a few minutes into the pedicure she walked away and washed her hands (while still wearing the same pair of gloves) and then walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later she emerged still wearing the same gloves walked over and sat down to finish my pedicure. At this moment I asked her to wash her hands without the gloves and to put on a new pair ofGloves since that was so disgusting and unhygienic!! I went in for lash extensions yesterday and they're already falling out and starting to "droop" on their own. I was already feeling upset because they were uneven but just to top it off I now have a bump in my eye and my eyes burn. Do NOT get eyelash extensions here! Came here with my bestie on a trip to see our kids and pick up a mattress. We are from here and after moving, used to practically live 50% here and 50% in Paso when I was buying in LA but now the time of getting to catch up and see my baby who lives in LA and our bffs are way  too few and far between. But when I know I'm coming, I try to save my mani and pedi appointments for down there for bonding time with my loved ones and because the prices are (usually)  much better. I guess cuz they have to be more competitive because of the competition. But not here. It is the same as Paso+. We loved B. She was doing the nails next to us and actually carried on a very helpful & informative conversation with us.The chairs were fancy but tired, at least the mechanics were. It is hard to get a really good massage chair. My pedicure was great. They put a plastic bag inside the basin to sanitize. And so I have no complaints. The gal wasn't unfriendly, she just barely said two words. The manicurist was nice and the manicure it'self was fine. The paint job was just really disappointing. She put so many coats on all at once that there was no way that my nails were dry until about four hours later and by then it was too late. But Good times for me and my bestie. I'd go back but it wouldn't be my first choice. And I'd ask for B! She was friendly and looked as if she did a good job on the gal's nails beside us! Read Less

The lady that did my pedicure was really bad, really bad attitude she was hurting me, when we asked if we can a manicure she hestied and said she can't do because they were "closeing" soon we cane at 4 and they did not close until 7. Second time to go here because its conveniently sitting by the mall. The first time was OK. But the second not so much.I guess depending on the person, but the one doing my hands murdered my manicure. Got nipped on 2 fingers. One left ring finger, one right ring finger (which bleed furiously). I can't even wash my hands without cringing from pain. Bad application of Polish too. It's just the second day and it's peeling off on the sides. My pedicure was awesome though. I have second thoughts if I will go again.
