I used to be a fan of this place. I liked the selection of SNS colors. However, after 3 or 4 visits (I have been about 10 times total); my nails are inconsistent. Regularly, my SNS cracks or breaks within the first week. Most recently this cracking lead to my actual nail breaking in multiple places. I have given the salon a chance to redeem themselves but I'm constantly disappointed in the results. I will not return for SNS. I can't stand the inconsistency. I may pop in for a manicure or pedicure randomly but they are not worth my regular business because they have proven that quality is not consistent or a priority. Read Less

I came in at exactly 9am, and there were already a couple people in here. I was still helped pretty quickly. I use SNS / dip gel / powder gel on my nails, and have been for three years. I'm very particular about how my nails are done, and how they look, and I was not disappointed. I believe Justin is the name of the guy who did my nails, and they were perfection! They were thin, smooth, and even (which apparently is difficult to accomplish with SNS in Ventura County). They had a decent selection of colors to choose from, which is also really nice. I've waited to post a review until I could see how they stood the test of time, and boy golly - it does! It'll be FOUR WEEKS (in two days) that I've had them, and they're still almost as strong. They're lifting a little from the nail (just a tiny bit though), and the new growth is prominent, BUT it's been FOUR WEEKS YALL. Lastly, their prices were amazing. A shop Thousand Oaks charged me $65 for SNS (for shoddy work, too!). Whaaaat!? Ain't nobody got time for that!! I think they charged me $35 here. So much better!! I've been here a handful of times for SNS manicure and regular pedicure. If you get SNS Emma is the best but you have to have an appointment. I tried another women (I didn't catch her name) one time and she butchered my nails. She didn't make the lengths of all my finger nails even, she cut me multiple times, and the finished job looked sloppy. Read Less

Justin did my SNS manicure, and it was impeccable!! Trust me, I’m very particular about how my nails get done, and have walked out of places before if they don’t do it correctly, especially with the SNS. They have a pretty good selection for colors, which is excellent, and their works stands the test of time. It’s been just over two weeks, and my nails aren’t cracked, chipping, or anything. If you're looking for a GREAT nail salon in Newbury Park, then this is IT. This salon is under new ownership (as of 2-3 weeks ago), and I had the pleasure of receiving a gel mani/pedi from one of the new owners herself named Jenny. I must admit that I am somewhat of a nail salon "snob" - I always pay extra attention to cleanliness, quality of work and professionalism. Right from the start, Jenny was courteous, professional and very friendly. I appreciated her attention to detail and had such a wonderful experience! MOST importantly, they open their business ON TIME. I had to stop going to two different nail salons in NP (won't mention any names), because I would book 9 am appointments, only to arrive and find that the employees didn't arrive to the shop until 9:15. Today I was incredibly disappointed.  Brought my mom here from out of town and she was given the WORST pedicure.  No hot towel, no massage or pumace stone treatment.  Didn't cut her cuticles.  She did the bare minimum which was just a trim of nails and polish.  She didn't help my mother put her flip flops back on or check back in with her after pedicure was complete.  She was awful.  On the other hand Emma is amazing!  Super kind and always professional but unfortunately we didn't have her this time.  The gentleman that did my pedicure did a great job and was professional. I walked in a year ago to get my nails done and had no idea what I was going to do, my nails were in bad shape, I didn't want acrylics and I did not want gel...Emma introduced me to SNS, not only is the product amazing but Emma is unbelievable! I've been going to her religiously for the last year and I've sent her over 30 people who continue to go to her. Today there was a very rude woman who completely took advantage of them, they all spent two hours of their time trying to make her happy and when it was clear that they couldn't make her happy they finally asked her to leave, she was awful, and it made me really sad and disappointed that someone like this lives in our community. If she tries to write a bad review I have proof with my receipt that I was there today and so to several other people that were there. Everyone in the salon goes out of their way to make our experience amazing!! Came to this place by accident and not glad I found this place. Staff were unfriendly and disappointing. Even though they could speak English their skills were just sad.I wanted to try this place since the place I usually go to was booked out of the wazoo. It looked like everyone in the family was there, more of a hangout on a Saturday than a business. When I got there place was empty with only the "fam". The technician I had was very technical and failed at his job. I asked to get a design and the way he did it made it look like graffiti art. NO thank you.He asked for consultant from the head tech and was informed that they could not do it. All I was seeking was 4 numbers. Not that hard. This is a couple days later and the polish that was applied has been well spotty, uneven spots and other portions peeling.Gross. I know its not on my end due to getting mine taken care of twice a month and this has never HAppend to me in the past 3 years of getting my nails done. So overall be careful when you get here. All I hear is that the SNS treatment is all they are good at. If not looking for this specialty be warned. Read Less

Came to this place by accident and I am glad I found this place. Staff were friendly and helpful. Most importantly, they were able to communicate with English without any issues. They introduced me to SNS manicure, which is very similar to gel manicure but without UV lights and damage to real nails. It was a very interesting procedure. SNS manicure uses a brush-on gel base (clear) on the nail, then dips nails in a powder of your choice. The powder comes in a range of colors. It's been 2 weeks now and my nails still look great! I've been going to Blown Away for almost 6 years now. Lynette was a lifesaver from the first time I met her. I'd just moved to the central valley and had gotten a haircut that the stylist had just butchered (not at Blown Away). I had long hair & all of a sudden I had short hair. I freaked out. I talked to about 10 salons before choosing Blown Away. Lynette did a masterful job of doing a huge amnt of extensions for me. I haven't gone anywhere else since. My whole family gets their cuts, styles & colours done by Lynette. She's a master of colour & I adore my hair! The salon itself is clean & inviting. But the real draw to Blown Away is the wonderful service/amazing stylists and of course the consistently outstanding results. I had come to Pampered Nails because  the place i had been going for over 5 years had started to have bad service. I saw Emma  for my nails and eventually was talked into SNS by the manager. After the second time I was  not happy, she tried adjusting but they were  too thick, then too thin and broke constantly.  On my last trip i explained  to the manager that i was not happy and she  had  guaranteed  my satisfaction.  She agreed to do a gel mani and regular pedi for the  difference. I picked what she said was matching gel and regular polish. They didn't  cut my cuticles and when i walked out i was shocked how off the  colors were.  I walked back in and she laughed,  i said they didn't  match. She said  " what do you want from me? Ive been more than fair to you ". I said i asked for matching colors and they dont mat h. She said they were close enough. I asked if she was the owner and she said " WHAT!" And screamed at me but wouldn't  answer. I asked again and she got physically upset yelling "WHAT! " again until Emma answered  and  said "No, she  is just the manager". I said i was shocked at how i was treated once i mentioned  i was dissatisfied.  I would  never go back there! For a business that rarely has more than  2 people  in it at any time should  not be shouting at their customers  and telling them "maybe you should  find another nail salon" prior to the big blow  up! I happened in on a Friday afternoon in a hurry to get a mani/pedi for an upcoming event and decided to give Pampered Nail a try.  Sure glad I did!  The owner and the other girls in the salon were so very nice.  I tried their new SNS gel nail alternative, it's all the strength and look of the gels without the UV lights and I love it!  Definitely will be referring and will be going back!
