I come here often to get my nails done and am never disappointed. However my first and last waxing experience was terrible. I was led to the waxing room and immediately knew I had made a mistake when I saw the dingy room not matching the normal salons interior. I laid down and could hear the esthetician nervously getting ready. Before she placed the wax on my side face I could hear her blowing on it... not a good sign. From then on I could tell she had not been professionally trained and I'm concerned she didn't even have a license to practice cosmetology. I left with two burns on my eyelids and completely misshapen brows. This Nail Salon is amazing and I feel like visiting a close friend's house every time I am there... I go every 2 weeks for my manicures and pedicures and usually get the "Classic Pedicure" with "Gel manicure..."  When I add French tips, it comes out to $65, before tips.  Here's why this place is so GREAAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!  An A+++++1)  Setting an appointment with Sunny is easy...2)  I am given a mini water bottle each visit...3)  The owner Sharon, is very beautiful and friendly...4)  It's a peaceful, professional, and elegant environment...5)  The workers do their best & take their time with you...6)  The spa chairs are new and electronic massager, great...7)  I love the giant, circular nail dryer in front of the salon...8)  Mai and Selena are definitely the best workers! This is always my go-to salon when I'm back home, but recently I've found that their gel manicures aren't always so consistent. Sometimes I'll have a manicure last 2-3 weeks before chipping. But this past visit, it's only been 2 days and the polish is already chipping on one of my nails. On another note, the manicurists are always patient, even though it usually takes me ages to choose a color! They take their time with doing the manicures to make sure the shape and color is how you'd like it, and never make it seem as if they're rushing through. Alice did my nail fill and she was very rough and made my cuticles bleed. She proceed to put some antiseptic on it, but it really hurt. I told her I wanted square nails and she made the width very thin with rounded tops. The gal that did my pedicure also did not follow my instuctions as I wanted a french pedicure with wide white lines. She did them very thin. Her name also started with an A. Here's the pro's of this place, it's clean and has a large selection of gel polishes..Now here's the cons: gel polish does not last. I have had 5 gel manicures done here & every single time the whole gel just comes off of my nails one by one at least a couple days after the manicure. I don't even see it happen. I just happen to look at my nail & see the gel came right on off. I've never had this happen to me before and I have been getting gel manicures continuously for at least the past 5 years.  So by 7 days after the manicure at least half of the gel polish's have came off. Also they can not seem to get the timing down. If I have an appointment for a mani & pedi I arrive on time. They will start the pedicure and by the time the pedicure is just about down they finally start the manicure. So an appointment that should have lasted about an hour ends up being at least 2 hours even thought I requested to have my mani & pedi done at the same time. Now I have came in a couple times without an appointment. Both times I asked how long was the wait time. both times the reply was "10 mins" I then asked are you sure of that? The reply "yes she is finishing up". Regardless both times my wait was 30 mins plus. Another thing I don't like about this salon is the overall atmosphere is very cold. The nail techs rarely speak, let alone smile or laugh. I just got an overall vibe of (slave driver) from the owner. She does not turn on the A/C in the summer even though it works so avoid going on hot days. I was visiting friends in South Pasadena and found myself with a free morning that was *well* spent getting a spa pedi and gel mani at the Nail Lounge.  Every part of the experience was clean, relaxing, and thorough - from the pleasant (but not insistent) conversation to the massage to to the nice pillows and blocks they have to prop up your legs and arms to the 80's deep cuts playing on the stereo (Neutron Dance anyone?) to the resulting pretty nails.  It's like the employees really care about doing a good job, which is so refreshing.I'm glad I stopped in! After several years of coming here I will be taking my business elsewhere. I went in for a spa pedicure and acrylics. I had a picture of exactly what I wanted and showed the owner and the woman who was going to be doing my acrylic nails. Both of them made it seem like it wouldn't be a problem and they could deliver on exactly what I asked.Wrong on both ends my acrylics ended up looking really uneven all were different sizes and shapes and I was there for two hours from 4 PM to 6 PM getting my nails done and paid $100 not including tip. I was so late for a dinner that I just left but the next day I had to go back because my nails were really embarrassing. Not only was the owner unapologetic but they filed my nails down which still weren't even and wanted me to just leave without reapplying nail polish to the filed down areas. The woman asked me what was wrong with my nails and I asked her if she could take a look because she was the expert anyone can clearly see what a terrible job was done on them. I was super disappointed with the owner and the customer service considering I have been going there for several years and paid a lot of money to get them done and spent altogether three hours on just one set of acrylics which shouldn't have been that big of a deal. I think it would've been a lot different if they could've just taking accountability and apologized for it and made sure that I left happy and that my nails actually looked good. Good place. Kinda pricey. I spent $60 + $10 tip for a regular pedi and a gel mani. (Gel usually runs about $30 and pedis around $20, so this was about $10 more.) Everything about this place is clean and organized.  They have several nail polish colors to choose from and they are displayed nicely on a shelf.  The massage chairs are in good condition and they give you a pillow to rest your hands on.  They offer different nail service packages and waxing is also available. :: Experience::Esther did my pedicure.  I liked how long she massaged my legs and the hot stones but the pressure of the massage was too light.  The bottom foot scrub was not long enough as well.   My daughter got a manicure with Alice.  In the process of removing her cuticles, it started to bleed.   Overall, we liked how our nails turned out.  :: Customer Service::~Esther was nice and didn't talk much which I appreciated because I wanted to relax.~Sharon who is the owner was polite and friendly from the second we walked it.  ::M's Notes::~Parking Lot ~Located in a plaza. I wouldn't say to completely avoid this place because they are decent and not that terrible. I've been here a few times just so I can see how the service really is. The first few times I came here I really enjoyed the customer service and the manager lady is always kind and very helpful. However, sometimes it looks like no one else knows what they are doing except her, which I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing. I came today to get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. For some odd reason, my pedicurist used the nail buffer and scraped the shit out of my big toe's cuticles. I was very confused as to why she did it so hard.. they were busy but it is no excuse to rush.. I didn't want to say anything at the moment because I didn't want to be rude but.... seriously, I was bleeding so much and I was in so much pain throughout the whole time after she did that. I know she saw it too because she kept trying to wipe away the blood.. but c'mon lady, you have to own up to what you did and apologize! She didn't even apologize.. just kept on going.. still bleeding..silence.. (her name was Kim) Overall, their quality of work is mediocre. Nothing special in my opinion. Michelle has been doing my nails for about 4 months now & definitely does the best gel nails in CA .Super clean shop, meticulous work-I routinely get 3+ weeks from the gels without chipping & I'm hard on my nails!Love that she uses the LED light, too.Nice people, great manicure. Read Less
