Wow I am not really sure what to say here but I feel I must. My daughter was getting married this weekend made arrangements for four of us to come and get mani pedis done. I was a little reluctant since I saw the reviews but one of my daughters convinced me to go, so I went. We got in there and from the minute we walked through the door we were shuffled like cattle to the massage chairs. There were no pleasantries or welcoming feeling when we got there. I felt it to be very chaotic. While we were sitting their each of us were assigned a foot person and a hand person, which in my case neither spoke any English. So if I wanted to discuss something I had to talk over the others and have it translated. They brought over what should have been clean towels which other people’s long dark hair on it. I told her I wanted another towel because there was hair, she proceeded to turn it over. Trying not to make a huge fuss I conceded. So cutting to the chase of the review... we had our services but when mine was done I noticed the five out of the 10 nails were not done, they were missing polish all together. But since my nail person left me without a word I had to find someone to tell. Well while doing that I had my UGG boots beside the chair and needed to put them on however noticed that there was wax all over my boots, wax on leather not good! So I found someone to get me a wet towel and I scrubbed off the wax. Then finally a man which I assumed to be the manager/owner said “sit she will fix”. So I sat down and I told him that I didn’t have time, mind you we had a wedding to attend in 1 1/2hours, so the girl , same girl that did my nails, sat down and I told her to just take everything off, he proceeded to tell me she will fix, then to top things off he started to accuse me that I caused the issue by putting my shirt back on. This was not the case I noticed this BEFORE my shirt went back on. One of my daughters chimed in and told him that was not the case. Finally I convinced them to just take off the polish that was there. I went up to pay and he charged me full price, which whatever I did get a manicure just no polish. So I told him that there was wax all over my leather boots and he kind of raised his voice and said “WANT DO YOU WANT” I told him nothing just thought he should know that’s all. He stopped what he was doing then proceeded to stop all operations, keep in mind that at this time the shop was full, and he shouted to his entire staff, what I thought was notice but not being able to understand he very well could have been talking about me. I told him that was not necessary to do it right then. All of a sudden another worker comes and tries to brush my boot off I told him I took care of it. It was all so VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I don’t get humiliated very easily but I was from his behavior. I have read all of the reviews, and they all bear true...  I have been looking for a nail salon in Tahoe for a long time.  I went to the one at the "Y" and got a bad skin infection on my foot.  I needed multiple rounds of antibiotics because the infection went up my leg.  I wrote them and they didn't care.  Here, I think the issue is part language.  Things appear chaotic.  The place could be cleaner on the floor.  It is a nice space.  I went here before, under different ownership and left because the owner complained about the high rent all the time.  This time, there was an obnoxious local woman on her cell phone, with her friend, exposing all of her confidential business in the salon...  people should know better.  She was clueless and loud.  OK - so my biggest issue is that I want nice nails and I don't want to be cut and I want the place to be clean.  I got nice nails- a really good pedicure.  The massage is different - as described by others - more like a massage at a massage parlor.  I had an appointment and there was confusion.  After greeting me and going over what I wanted, I sat and waited for 45 minutes, then, they asked me if they could help me.  ??? In part, this is language, as I saw it happen again.  I don't think they really record appointments anywhere.  I will try it again because I liked the pedicure and I saw him clean the bowl.  $30 pedicure.  "Cash preferred sign." I came here two weeks ago with a bridal party. We had about 14 people getting pedicures and/or manicures. When I first walked in I thought the place looked really nice and clean. The massage chairs are about the only thing I like now about the entire salon.    Me and my friend sat down next to each other for pedicures. The guy who did mine was nice enough but the younger man (fohawk style haircut) who did my friends pedicure was absolutely inappropriate. He was very flirtatious had no personal space while talking. Even before the pedicure started. And when it did start I felt uncomfortable just watching. He would grab and massage her leg while making faces maintaining eye contact and asking her if she likes it. I literally couldn't believe how unprofessional and inappropriate. You had to see it to understand. But He was pretty much making love to her leg. Disgusting.     During my pedicure I asked to Add a sea salt scrub. The ones I'm used to getting make your legs and feet extremely soft and is like an added massage. The guy told me it was going to be 8 dollars extra. Making my total 38 dollars. I should I just got the delux pedicure for 45 but that was my fault. Anywho my scrub was a waste of money. It literally felt like liquid soap and didn't make my feet soft or feel even nice.   When I went to pay I gave the guy who did my pedicure cash tip ( he was working in someone new) and brought my card up to the counter. They lady asked what I had done I said a pedicure and added sea salt scrub. The lady charged me $37. (A dollar less than the guy told me). as I went to walk away from the counter the pervert guy who did my friends started hasseling me that I owe 8 dollars more, that I only paid 30. I literally still had my card and receipt in my hand. Once he saw my receipt and left 2 more women came up and said I owed more money. They were saying it very loud and in front of a fully packed nail salon.I couldn't believe how unprofessional and rude they were. I pointed to the lady who took my money and she informed them that I already paid. This place is obviously not organized. The nails were mediocre. And the staff needs to check them selfs before yelling about being shorted money. Especially bc I hadn't even had time to put my card away. I came here to get gel and pedicure. Honestly so chaotic from the start. So disorganized as people came in, colors for nails were just not in order so you had to dig through it. The lady who did my pedicure started to massage my leg, and she starts hitting my leg! I mean i know you do that for massage but this was more forceful than a massage which hurt a LOT. After this, she brings hot towel and its BURNING hot. Later for my arms, she did the same thing and i had my blood vessel pop on my arm. I had gel already on my hand, she took forever taking them ofd, about 30 min plus, and when she went on to doing my nails, she didnt even ask if i wanted it filed or anything she just did her thing. She also made me bleed when cutting my cuticles and i was like ow! But she ignored and just went on. What made me really upset was the pricing. Gel manicure and reg pedicure was 75bucks. With 5 dollars on taking off gel. I got burned from towel, got hit on my leg and arm, and paid DOUBLE for the service i usually get for 40-45.Never coming back Read Less

Came here on a whim with my cousin. Our family has a home in Tahoe, so while we were here we figured we would go get our nails done. I got a mani and she got a pedi...kind of. My mani was great, simple just got my nails painted, nothing fancy, and the lady who helped me was wonderful! My cousin was getting her pedi and noticed that they were using dirty towels, sharing brushes right after someone else would use them, the tools weren't sterilized, and they were reusing the things they put between your toes to make sure the polish doesn't get ruined. The other customers sitting by her also realized what was going on. The guy helping her basically only got her old polish off before she realized how unclean everything was. I've never been shamed in a store before. I went to get my nails done. I had my 10 month old with me, She is a really well behaved baby. I work a lot, go to school and mom hard, but this afternoon I felt like giving my self a treat.. I decided to get a manicure. Got an appointment got there in time, 30minutes later they decided to get me started. I sit down, the lady starts working on my nails. Baby starts moving just a little bit... this is were it gets ugly. The guy doing the lady's nails next to me stands up and tells me to leave come back some other day with no baby. My lady never said a word, it was this old guy just standing there staring and repeating over and over that I should leave.I left in tears... never going to that place again. Kind of ridiculous... 4 of us came in for the top of the line pedicure... two of us  wanted jewels in our toes they said it was $10 each.  Always is $5... asked if we pay 10 for both of us they said no??? Place was quite, not busy... will not be back they lost many future pedicures over $5 Read Less

Not worth coming here- they did an average job for absurdly high prices, with poor customer service. A large group of us all paying 60$ for pedicures and there was very little and very poor service- will definitely NOT be coming back here. Read Less

Happy with VIP nails. I recently moved from a bigger city to South Lake and called around looking to get a pedicure. When two places (closer to my house near Sierra) failed to call me back, I continued my search online and decided to give this place a try. I walked in on a Saturday and waited about 15 min. I got the $30 pedicure and Julie took her time caring for my cuticles. She did a very thorough job-I'm really big on pedis not being rushed and this place didn't cut any corners in my opinion. I finally tried VIP nails after my hair stylist suggested them for pedicures. It had been September since I last treated myself to a pedicure, although I had attempted a few quick fixes at home. The nail tech had her work cut out for her as my nails have always been thin and break easily. I also work 12 1/2 + hours at my job and my feet and legs needed a little pampering. I was greeted immediately and they were able to seat me right away. I had the deluxe pedicure with gel nail color. I was surprised at how many gel colors they had, it was nice to have such a variety to select from. I was offered something to drink and the massage chair worked well (a necessity for me). Julie worked away as I read, although I'd peek over my device every now and then to check on the progress. I received a nice leg/foot massage which I would have loved for the entire hour! It wasn't lengthy, but she managed to focus on some of my aches and pains. The end result was wonderful, my feet and legs felt revitalized and my nails looked fantastic. I would recommend this salon and I will definitely be returning in the near future.Pricing was a bit higher than I normally pay: $65 for deluxe pedi (and there is a sign that says they prefer cash), however, it is a convenient location off of Ski Run and Tahoe Blvd, Parking was right out front with easy access in and out. Stuck in Tahoe due to snow storm....why not get a pedicure? Searched local salons. Landed at VIP. Awesome service! Got me in right away, offered me green tea while getting pedi.
