I really liked this place until yesterday 😞 It was about the 5th time there to get the "dip powder". All the times I had gone it the cost was $40, which is 60% higher than doing gel polish. I didn't like the higher price but the product worked great for me, and I was very happy with the results. Well yesterday when I went in and after the girl was finished and handed me the slip to Kay; she had charged me $50! I asked when did the price go up? Her response was two weeks ago. I spoke with Helen, the owner and said I felt I should have been informed prior so I could have decided if I wanted to pay that much...her response "the price went up, it takes longer to do dip powder" I told her I felt it wasn't very professional and she had no response. I stated I was very disappointed and that I had really liked it there, but felt this was a bad business practice, and said I wouldn't be back, her response was kinda "oh well"
I felt like it was a "bait n switch" the dip powder isn't even listed in their price list. Bad business, I will tell my friends not to go here.

Great people work here! Service is fast and professional. Great massage chairs for pedicures, great circulation system so no bad smells. It is a relaxing experience.

If I could give a less than zero rating, I would. I came in to have a gel mani and the place was busy, but since I had an appointment, I expected to be the next person served. This was not the case. I was given the nail cards, and then completely ignored as others who arrived after me were seated and checked out. Then when the woman at the front desk realized that she had ignored me, and given someone else my appointment, she tried to argue that it was my fault!!! The problem here is all European Americans were given deference while I was completely ignored. Yes, it's still happening people. Institutional racism rears its ugly head again, and even among people of color dealing with other people of color!!!!!! I will never come to this shop again.

I used to visit Zen frequently when I lived in SR. I loved it at that time. Went back on Saturday for a super basic service and it was really bad. The women who waxed my brows did literally NOTHING. I was so surprised when she said she was finished. They looked exactly the same as when I came in. When I asked a few friends who used to go there, they all said it's "hit or miss". I am amending my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. I left her a tip for good measure and will not return to Zen. Sad it's gotten much bigger and much worse.

I am writing this review because it seems that those of us who are very happy with our experiences do not take the time to say thank you! It seems that the only people who write reviews have not had their expectations met, for whatever reason. I have been going to Zen Nails for several years and have always received the best experience in a very professional, clean and peaceful environment. Because of Helen & Han, I have beautiful nails for the first time in my life! Enjoy!

I love the atmosphere and the friendly staff. They have a variety of nail polish colors and the girls do a very nice job taking all the cuticles and making sure the nail polish gets on the whole nail without missing the edges. This place is always busy so for sure having an appointment is a must.

I've been been a repeat customer for about a year and a half and I think the service is good. Front desk lady has an attitude with my mom sometimes while she's trying to pay. But overall for the busy place that they are they are pretty nice. The only thing I have a problem with is that after about a week my nails will break and I can see through the polish right away. So basically I think they have very low quality cheap gel polish. Probably why they have over 50 colors to chose from. The only reason I go back is because my mom loves this place. If it was up to me I would go to any other place.

There are an ample # of pedicure chairs and staff to accommodate here. Each foot tub is individually lined for sanitation. All tools are sanitized and packaged per client. Nothing is re-used from person to person. There is a huge wall of polish choices accessible. There are also hundreds of gel choices. Drinks are served as a compliment to your service. The owner Helen takes pride in her business and wants everyone here to be happy. Because of all this they can get busy, so I recommend an appointment even though walk ins are welcome.

The front desk staff (women) are RUDE BITCHES!!!! Do NOT give this business your hard earned money!!!! I've been going there for 2 1/2 years and today was 6 minutes late for my appointment. When I got there I was directed to my chair without being asked to pick my polish. When I started to walk towards the polish the young (20's) biaatch ordered me to stay in my chair (in front of 6 or so other customers). I told her I was picking out my polish and she said "if you pick out your polish we will not have time to do your mani/pedi". The place was EMPTY!!!! In shock I gave her a piece of my mind (in front of all the customers) and let them ALL know I would NEVER go back and left. Sad because Kayla and a few other people that work there are so great and do quality work. Treating paying customers like shit is only gonna backfire!!

I came here with a group of 5 people for an appointment for pedicures. The appointment was made a month prior with Anthony. This was for a special event the next day so we were really needed the appointment for the date and time that we made it. Well what do you know, we walk in and speak to Anthony at the front desk who emphatically denies that we had an appointment at all! He said it couldn't possibly have been him that we had talked to, and that he would never have made such an appointment. Through the discussion, however, he started to remember the details and then began to apologize. Unfortunately for us they couldn't accommodate our party so we ended up just leaving. Never coming back here again and I do NOT recommend it!

I've been a repeat customer at Zen Nails for a number of years, and it's always been a good experience. While I do understand some of the reviews for disgruntled management, it has never caused my experience to be unpleasant. The technicians have always been friendly and I trust them to do a good job with my manicure/pedicure. They often do get busy so drop-ins are hard to come by, so make sure to call ahead of time. Zen Nails is efficient, clean and not over-thought (my kinda place).

I've been here three times for a pedicure and each time a different girl. All the three girls were excellent. I was extremely satisfied with everything they did for my pedicure. I especially liked the 15 minute massage on my legs and feet.This place is extremely clean. All the tools they use come in a sterilize package. When they use the nail file it goes into the garbage afterwords. The pedicure chair, where the water goes in is covered with plastic. This is a very clean place.

I don't need to go to a dysfunctional salon...I go to a salon to relax and get my nails done not to feel stressed out. Never again!!

The worst service I have had at a nail salon. Walked into a near empty salon at 1 pm on a Thursday and was told I could not get service until 6 pm even though 7 or8 staff were standing waiting. Then as we began to walk out they suddenly had someone to gekp us. Then they cut my mother's nails off !!! The quality of the polish ...who knows? It came off in two days...I also left some blood when they cut my toe. Reportable I am sure.Never again

I went into Zen nails last weekend, the day before I was leaving for Disneyland. I went in with a picture of a simple Disney design that I wanted. It was a French with red/white polka dot tips and Minnie decal for the ring finger. They told me they did not "have time". So I left with boring French with red tips. I immediately went to Magnolia salon where they added the white polka dots and she freehanded Minnie on ring fingers. I will never go to Zen again. Magnolia nails is my new place!

We called ahead for 5 people... They told us come on in, and as soon as we walked in 3 other people arrived saying they had appointments. (Only 2 people available to do pedicure) We sat with feet in water for almost 2 hours. They did not have clean utensils, they did not clean the basin, and witnessed an employee use a cuticle tool to pry the jet off of the foot basin. Most chairs did not work. And then they bartered with me on how much to tip! Very disappointed with the service and cleanliness.

Needed to find a new place, loved the place due to it looking clean and fresh. Everyone was so nice. Tools were packaged and saw the sanitizer being used! Very important! I will come back again.

I really liked this place until yesterday 😞 It was about the 5th time there to get the "dip powder". All the times I had gone it the cost was $40, which is 60% higher than doing gel polish. I didn't like the higher price but the product worked great for me, and I was very happy with the results. Well yesterday when I went in and after the girl was finished and handed me the slip to Kay; she had charged me $50! I asked when did the price go up? Her response was two weeks ago.
