I LOVE Platinum Nail Lounge. I was in Santa Rosa for work and had some time to kill so naturally, I got a manicure! ....and it was INCREDIBLE. The lounge is clean, cute, and trendy. I am so psycho particular in what I want and expect from a nail salon and I'm learning I'll probably never get exactly what I'm looking for which means I must lower my expectations. Shame. Oh well....so ventured into Platinum and my first visit was with Chop. Funny guy, speaks fluent English and is into construction so we had lots of things to talk about .... I get acrylic overlay since my nails are perpetually thin and was happy with my fill and gel manicure. Today I was looking forward to seeing Chop again to ask for a couple minor changes (less side filing and not too thick) and learned he'd called in sick. I would have appreciated a call to have the option to reschedule but was willing to try someone else. Emma is young and adorable and speaks very little English. (although it seems like her chronic giggling is maybe an anxious thing ;) I LOVE my nails. Perfect C-curve, nice and thin yet thick enough that they won't snap off. The Earth Blue gel with a sparkly top coat is amazing. Sooooo, the BIG issue for me is how the next visit to Emma will be. I look for consistency consistency consistency. It seems that most of the salons everywhere see so many clients and it's super easy to forget one clients preferences to the next. I get it. But I'm paying for a personalized service (akin to your skincare or hair stylist) and I expect the ability to communicate effectively what I want and get it. Chop did great job but so did Emma. Best pedicure I have ever had, and I have had a lot!! I chose the Gold package, because I hadn't had a pedi in over 6 months (had a baby and had zero time for myself), my feet are no longer cracked and gross! They are soft and ready for summer and sandals. I was shocked, I thought I needed at least 3 or 4 pedicures before I would see results like that. I got a full set of acrylics and Crome polish as well, love them! My nails aren't too thick and shaped perfectly. The salon is really nice, clean, great customer service. I'm torn, My nails don't look horrible, but they're also not what I wanted.I asked for a pink & white ombre/fade. And instead of saying they haven't done one before or they don't know how. They said they messed up when they were using the dremel. (I had assumed that they had experience-picture on yelp) They used glitter gel to help cover, but they also used 2 shades of pink (I don't like the brighter/darker one). And I later noticed that my nails weren't all the same length. And even my husband noticed that my nails had waves in the gel.So I'm already mad that my nails are messed up, but don't have time 2 just walk out and get them fixed somewhere else at another time (I got my nails done for a bachlorette party). They said they'd just charge me for a standard full set $35 instead of for white & pink.Now, I'm sure I'd be ok with my nails if I liked the brighter (not natural looking) pink or if the way they turned out is what I asked for. But, I'm very particular about how I like things and after reading all the reviews, I was very disappointed. Read Less

The environment is very fresh and vibrant. The fact that you can have spa services and beverages to sip on while you relax i.e., wine, champagne, coffee, and tea, just fits the mood after a day at work or simply having "Me" time. All staff are attentive and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Some friends and I had gone camping nearby, and due to some extenuating circumanstances involving lost keys, we had about 4 hours to kill in the area. What better way than to relax at a nail salon? After a quick yelp search, we saw that Athena had good reviews and seemed reliable. We called and were able to get three mani-pedi appointments within an hours time-- not bad! When we arrived, all of the ladies working were extremely warm and attentive. The salon chairs were comfortable and the pedicure was amazing. They took their time to pamper us and make us feel completely comfortable. It's been almost a week since we went, and there is still no sign of chipping on fingernails or toenails. Thanks Athena! I came here with a group and we made reservations for three pedicures and three manicures. While the manicures got started on time, two of the pedicures in our party started over 30 minutes late.
