One star because they got me an appointment within an hour, but that's the only thing they did well. It's my fault really for deciding to get a last minute wax on a Monday when the reputable places are closed. When I arrived (first time to this place) I checked in and she said "ok go sit there". Where I asked? (Seeing only pedicure chairs). She rolled her eyes and escorted me to the waxing room. She pulled the paper on the table Dow about 6 inches and told me to lay down while she went to was her hands.  Ummm no, the sheet was dirty from someone's shoes and the paper still had wrinkles and stains from the previous customer(s). I pulled the paper down until it was clean then lay down only to an extremely bright light shine directly into my eyes. I was forced to close my eyes the entire time. She was rough and the wax was way too hot. I told her and she said "oh sorry" but did nothing to alter the temp. She told me "it's good wax, you're not red".  When she finished she handed me a mirror and I had to point out places she'd missed. When I got up she said "use cold water tonight". Not only was the lady who helped me extremely rude but she did a terrible job. Btw i think she might have been the owner? The other girls were very sweet! I asked her for a gel manicure and i wanted just a thin layer of acrylic. She ended up put on a thick layer of gel. For starters the gel burned my nail! And every time i would tell her she would just yell at me for taking my hand out the led light. I was charged $85 for a pedicure & the gel manicure she did. I always get this done and never get charged more than $60. Not even a week went by when my nail came flying off. And my other nail is cracked. Praying it will stay on till tomorrow morning. Pretty bummed out by my experience here! Went with my mom for mani/pedis. For her they cut her nails too short -all the way down to the nail beds!- and she REPEATEDLY said she didn't want her nails cut, that they were hurting her. At one point she specifically said do not cut, nail tech said ok, and then next think she cut it! For my pedicure, my toes were filed unevenly (i.e. Half of a nail was long and the other half short- like diagonal?!) and the nail polish was lumpy. Positives about the place tho- the ambiance is really nice, they have a tea bar set up, and when I voiced the fact that my toe nails were uneven, a different nail tech came back and evened them out- she was super sweet! I would much rather go to any another nail salon. It wasn't very clean here, there was hair and dust in the corners and all over the floor. The girl that did my pedicure did an okay job but used a different color than i had asked her to so the color was slightly off. The lady who did my nails didn't listen to what I wanted AT ALL. She did whatever shape she wanted and even though I had asked for a full set of acrylic, I got shellac. She didn't brush off the dust when she was finished filling so i got flakes of it through out the polish. Disappointed and wouldn't go back. I came here today with a girl friend of mine to get pedis. They rushed us to sit down after looking for a polish in their unorganized polish area. We sat down and waited for them to fill up the bowls, which was nice to have them lined. My lady wouldn't talk she just pointed for me to do things. I put my feet in and it was kind of cold. Right when I put my feet in she asked me to take them out. Didn't even have them in for 30 seconds. She started to clip my nails right away and cut the cuticles. So I am catching up with my friend the whole time which was fun. Then when it comes to the hot stones she just put them straight onto my leg and scared me and asked if it was to hot, which it was. By the end of the pedi I look at my toes, and she cut them extremely short. My big toe she cut it so crooked and the polish was all goopy. She left and didn't come back. After 10 minutes another tech saw I was trying to get someone's attention to come back to try and fix my toe. Once they came back she added more polish on top and tried to file my nail straight... I asked to have them just redo the nail because adding another layer made it worse. I felt like they were super annoyed with me for asking. I was polite about it. All the techs were all speaking to each other. They tried to fix it, not much they can do except make my nail short, which I didn't want to happen. They had us sit with the leg rest up for another 10 minutes. I think the owner came back to let us out and then was like go up front to pay. Not very friendly and didn't seem like they wanted us there. I didn't want to leave a tip but left one anyways. I don't think I'll be back. I'm sure there are other salons that are much better. I recently gave this nail spa a second chance from an old old previous visit about 7 years ago! I've been hearing good things about them and they're conveniently downtown where my business is ($26 for regular pedicure). I do like the decor and it was where my girlfriend was going so I tagged along. While the older woman whom gave me my pedicure did a great job, there was zero communication. And I tried, but to no avail. I asked for a mani as well on just my plain old nails. Heck, I didn't even want paint. While the nice woman was working away at my toes there were 2 women working on my friends pedi and gel manicure. We chatted away and after our nails were all painted we thought to each other, "I guess I'm not getting my manicure?"  Then a few moments later one of the girls returned with a bowl of water as we sat there air drying.The bowl of water was for my manicure. Believe it or not, this is the exact reason I never returned to this place from 7 years ago. I kindly let her know I would no longer be needing the manicure as every other service was done and I did not want to sit there and make my friend wait. Plus I felt as if I was done, then starting over. Why won't they just say, they don't have time to do all of the requests. They just say yes and they could avoid the inconvenience to everyone by being honest. Forgive me if the ONLY reason for this is the language barrier. I come here all the time for pedicures. Their pedicure service is great, however I cannot say the same about their acrylics. I came here about 2 weeks ago for pink and whites for my graduation. Gina did my nails and it seemed like she was in a bad mood. I had to call her out for being too sassy. When I asked for pink and whites she seemed like it was an inconvenience. The color was extremely uneven and there were little bits of fuzz stuck under the nail and tons of air bubbles. The nails did not last long whatsoever. The day of my graduation, which was 5 days after I got my nails done, one popped off during the ceremony. Soon after all of them started to lift. They were frustrating me so much that I started to rip them all off (I know that this is extremely bad for your nails but I couldn't help it). The nails lasted about a week and a half. It would be really nice to go into a nail salon and not be bullied about how my nails look. I'm used to nail techs telling me I need extra treatment for my cuticles or whatever, but they took it too far. They bullied me the entire time I was there and how my feet needed treatment. If I decline it the first time, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th times are going to get declined as well, not to mention, each time they got more rude about it. I wish I could have just walked out. It was this Thursday, June 8th I went here with my mom for my nails and toes to be done for my graduation. At first I loved the way the atmosphere felt in the nail salon, they give good pedicures. But when we started to do our nails it definitely wasn't to satisfactory level. When I was getting my pedicure done the woman started to prepare my nails for the acrylic and gel, she had seen another customers child and started to play with him. I then looked at her and she said to me wait a minute please. She then proceeded to play a video for the child on her phone for the next 10 minutes of our time. In my experience I came out with crooked, thin nails with very uneven shapes. I asked for the almond tipped nail and she just rounded the sides. When we were shaving down the acrylic to shape she then saw customers come in and she left for another good ten minutes of our time. After I got home, I was trying to open a drawer and the nail on my right pointer finger cracked. I then thought I would go back and get it fixed but I really wasn't satisfied the first time so I dont think I'll be coming back. Read Less

Had a very mediocre experience at Blue Polish yesterday.  My wonderful sister treated me and my daughter to mani pedis and my sister and I decided to get acrylics put on.  Gina who did mine did a awful job, they are very thick and not shaped well.  On top of that I think that Gina initiated derogatory comments back and forth between the girls that worked on my daughter and sister.  At one point during my daughters pedicure her technician grabbed her foot as if she was showing it to the other girls.  My sister's nails turned out beautifully and I wish that I knew the name of the girl that did her set.  Bottom line, there are nicer places to go if you want to pamper yourself and friends. Second time here today,and I was disappointed. The first time that I went my friend needed another top coat and they told her to wait for the layer to dry and they never came back to put the layer on or the top coat. And my gels only last 1 week which they always last 2 or more.Today however I was there for nearly 3 HOURS!I absolutely love the pedis they are the BEST. But I got a acrylics put on and she didn't know how to do the French ombré which kinda sucked but I told her to do a basic nude REGULAR nail polish (I made sure to say regular). She brought a color over and kept apologizing for the wait and proceeded to put the polish on and then I noticed it was gel when she pulled the machine out but I thought maybe because she had taken so long she was doing gel to be nice which my mistake but nope she changed me $10 extra dollars for it and it looks lumpy. Not happy because I asked her if it would only be $35 and she said yes and slapped on another $10 for the gel I NEVER ASKED FOR. Read Less

I was really impressed by the salon and here is why! 1) Super sanitary equipment. The copper basin was lined with a single use liner. Everything was autoclaved. 2) Friendly and meticulous staff. The English language skills weren't the best but they were super friendly, paid careful attention to my mani/pedi and had big smiles. 3) Huge selection of gel colors. I will come back again! We came here the day before my wedding with my bridesmaids, officiant, flower girls, their moms, and my brother's girlfriend.  I had set up an appointment for noon, and afraid we wouldn't be able to get everyone's nails done, I asked them if we could push it back to 11 and they kindly accommodated.  The nail salon is huge, definitely big enough for a party of our size; and they opened new sanitized tools in front of each of us (huge plus for me).  We all chose our colors and spread out at the various chair in the salon.  They quite efficiently got through all our pedicures, and half of us had manicures, too!  They were friendly, organized, and did a great job.  My toe nail polish chipped after the first day, which was a bummer--but my shellac manicure is still going strong a week and a half later (which is RARE for me, with my oily nails!).  I will definitely be back. I went here for the first time just a few minutes ago, and it is definitely my new spot. Well decorated, posh interior. Manicure was $16, totally inline with downtown prices with above and beyond services. Best manicure I have received locally. I had the pleasure of meeting Be, who was incredibly nice and we had a pleasant conversation, with no language barrier. Sorry to bring that up too but it's a reality of nail salons. Read Less

This was the worst leg wax I have ever had in my life. They were extremely rude the minute I arrived. The girl who waxed me had obviously never (a) waxed anyone before or (b) even been for a wax herself. She got wax everywhere except my legs (including my tshirt, even though it was a half leg wax); she missed whole swathes of hair so that I basically need another wax and she burnt me. Nails came out ok. Costumer service sucks. SLOW SLOW SLOW. Made an appt. they didn't start for 15 minutes. The nail tech kept getting up and walking away to assist other nail techs or to ring up clients. I was there for almost two hours for a basic pedi (which I skipped the massage because of time) and full set. Wtf? I also hate when the nail techs don't really talk to me and talk to each other in their language.Oh yeah... And the nail tech didn't soak my hands and clean up my cuticles. Gina and her staff are amazing! I've been coming here since they've first opened, and I've never been disappointed with their work. They're always so careful and gentle with your nails/fingers/toes. Manicures and pedicures always comes with a mini massage. They have multiple pedicure and manicure stations, and a large selection of colors, both regular and gel. They recently got colored changing gel polish that I absolutely love! The only thing I think they can improve on is their reservation system. Before, I would call a couple of days before to make a appointment. However, whenever I would arrive, I would have to wait at least 20 minutes or more if they are busy. I've noticed this for other people to. They basically take anyone that would walk in, regardless of if they have an upcoming appointment. So I've just learned that I would have to wait a while even if I did call in, so keep in mind that they don't really have a "traditional" appointment system. But, I do call in and let them know I'm coming. Gina does keep track of who is coming and at what time, so it's not like the appointments are completely useless....Otherwise, I really love this place! Everyone is really nice and friendly, and they talk to you and try to get to know you. This place is clean and has classy decor. They also have complementary water and hot water/tea. Price is comparable to other nail shops. Parking could be hard to find since they are located on a busy downtown street. Read Less
