Wow! What can I say? I had heard so many great things about Olive & June that I had to see what all the hype was about. I traveled to Los Angeles in July to visit my daughter and we made appointments at O&J in Santa Monica. I was so happy with the overall experience that I went back the following month while visiting my sister. Both times I got a gel manicure that lasted more than two full weeks. I liked the ambiance and was pleasantly surprised when the receptionist asked my preferences beforehand regarding massage pressure, nail shape etc. Though the chairs were unconventional, I found them very comfortable.I really wanted the technicians to get in there and give me a pedicure I could not do myself, but I could tell by the way they held the cuticle cutters that was not going to happen. I would recommend if you want a dainty nail file, and barely there cuticle cut. If it weren't for the soak, I would feel like I had a simple polish change. Read Less

I just tried Olive & June for the first time due to their instagram. I was a little disappointed by the customer service. I felt like I was neglected by not being offered a drink, like everyone else was. Also my manicurist did not introduce herself or didn't want to start a conversation. I almost felt like a robot was doing my nails. For the price range here, I felt like I can go somewhere and receive better customer service. This was my first time coming here.  They certainly do everything to make you feel welcome.  There are little bottles of nail conditioner that you can take with you after your visit, they offer you water/tea, they even have you fill out a form so they can keep your preferences in mind at future visits.  The space is bright, clean, and comfortable and the tools are sterile.  I made an appointment for The Olive pedicure (nail shaping, cuticle trimming, exfoliation, massage, and polish) and my manicurist was super friendly.  She talked to me during the service to make sure that everything was done according to my liking.  It was a very relaxing experience.  Granted, I still had rough spots on my feet afterwards, but for the price you pay, it is still pretty reasonable.  The only thing I noted, though, is that this service is advertised as being 60 minutes long, but I clocked mine at 45-50 minutes. I came here with my friend who has been following them on instagram for a while. We both got gel manicures with floral nail art. I picked a design that was featured on their Instagram and it couldn't be more perfect. My manicurist, Gigi, helped me pick out the perfect colors to match a dress I'm wearing to a wedding this weekend. And she matched the nail design down the tiniest details! This was my first time here, and I really enjoyed it. My friend gave me a gift card for my birthday. I went with a pedi. Overall experience was wonderful. The lady took her time, she carefully scrubbed my feed (normally I'm really tickleish! Right away they offer you you water/hot tea. With a reservation they take you right in, unless you have never been then they will have you fill out a foru, maybe arrive 5 or 10 mins before.. the seating is really comfortable. They have a lot of cute color choices and great brands. My friends were in town for the weekend and I thought it would be fun to try Olive &June Santa Monica. For the astronomical prices they charge, I received a mediocre pedicure and I asked for gels on my nails with winking eyelashes that I had seen on their Instagram. Not only does my gel manicure look terrible, after two terrible attempts at the winking eyelashes, I finally had to ask them to remove it completely. I am so disappointed. What a waste of time and money! My friends nails looked so bad we had to go down to Artistic Nails to have them fixed. I will never come here again and will stick to going to Artistic Nails. Read Less
