Very bad service. Do not go here. Paid $60 1 week ago for a fill and gel. My nail started to lift and I came to get it fixed. They didn't tell me how much it would cost. At the end of the job it was $8 to fix one nail. Extortionate considering I just got my nails done a week ago. I said I would pay a fare price and gave him $5- which is still a lot to fix 1 nail. I left as my uber was waiting and he came running out knocking on my window saying we don't want you $5. Nice customer service. I spend $120 on my nails every week. Will be finding someone else to take my money.In response to whoever replied to my review - here are some points;1. Your staff kept saying 'it's not out fault'. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I proceeded to explain that whoever did the fill did not do a good job as the nails started to lift shortly after. But neither one of your employees could understand me or communicate 2. I paid over $60 9 days ago. Problems occurred on day 5 I just haven't had a chance to come in3. I didn't throw money on the counter. I placed it there and said I will pay what fair. Since a full set costs $40 how can you charge 8 for 1 finger? And why would it take 30 mins? A fill or full set doesn't take 30 mins per finger4. Your employee came running out and slamming on the uber door. Very aggressive and unprofessional 5. No trouble maker here. I'm a professional who spends a lot of money on her nails but will not be ripped off6. Why didn't your employee state how much it would cost at start of job so there were no surprises. I was expecting $3 for a fix like a normal store. I still  ended up paying more. Feel free to donate $5 to someone homeless who understands the value of money and not yourselves who obviously don't7. And I complimented your employee that they did a good job on my nails because I felt sorry for them. Your store was empty when I visited last week and empty today. Makes absolute sense why no one was there on peak hour on sat after visiting the hostile environment 8. I won't be returning and will not be recommending to my friends9. Good service. They took me in at 6:30 on Sunday night, half before closing, and I didn't feel like my nail technicians were rushing to get out the door. Super comfy chairs and nice ambiance. Love the color palettes from which to choose while in one's chair (vs going to the wall and choosing the actual bottle of polish). Basic pedicure from the service menu was very basic but I ended up with beautiful toes that so far have withstood major beach sand abuse well. I was sold as soon as I learned that BonLierre has a corgi as a shop dog, and I was even greeted by her as I walked in the door! The salon was very clean and modern. I loved the plant wall and the organic bar. The chairs were big and comfortable with pillows making it easy to relax. I didn't feel rushed when I was there and was able to take my time looking through the menu of services. I was offered water or tea and I opted for the water. I love the little touch of fresh having a fresh orange slice in the water cup. One thing I really like is that you don't have to go up and stare at a wall of polish to pick your color; they go to you with the color selections.  The appointment process is easy and I was able to make a same day appointment. I've passed by this place a few times and finally went in today. This is by far the best manicure pedicure I've gotten in LA, not to mention it feeling like an actual spa experience. Oooohhhh Bonlierre how I so wanted to give you 5 Stars. I came here today for the 2nd time with my mother in law and the first time I came by myself everything was wonderful. The salon is much much nicer than most for not being a full on luxe day spa. I felt like I got that level of service but with a moderate price. Total win for me. I love that you use organic scrubs and we can customize our service from scrub to mask and moisturizer.The massage was even great the first time. Great pressure in the correct places and for at least ten minutes.But today. From the pushiness of the owner, or young man at the desk who appears to be the owner, to my nail Technitian another young man who was rushed and possibly nervous? I'm not sure maybe he was new which is fine, but when I pointed out that the underside of my nails had areas that were rough hanging out and still needed to be filed/fixed he said sure sure before the clear coat and didn't do it. His massage was 3minutes long even though I got a manicure package that was almost double the package as the first time. And I believe he thought the massage was only for my forearms, not to touch my hands at all. My hands literally were left hardly coated by lotion because he didn't massage them for even a moment. Then he used a spray bottle to spray alcohol ( I know to dry the nail so the polish adheres.) but it got all the way up to my wrists- further drying out my hands that weren't moisturized lol wouldn't a cotton ball be better? My Color was ok but for my mother in law they tried to use a bottle of polish that was way past it's usage. The color was of course streaky and clumpy. She asked for a new color and of course they changed it but I asked to see the bottle of polish and it was clear they were scooping the bottom of the barrel here... you can't do that when charging 50$ for a manicure... just no.Finally, the nail Technitian flossing while walking around on the salon...I thought I found my new spot since I moved to the west side but now ‍ Read Less

I wanted to like this salon. I've tried it about 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months and I'm done trying to give them a chance.  Pros: - they're insanely nice and friendly- they're open really late everyday - never had a problem getting a last minute appointment - they have a cute dog which runs around the salonCons:- the salon is very hot (no AC maybe)- the manis + pedis don't last. They only look nice for about a day or two. - they're not very attentive to the gel manis so they sometimes look sloppy - the pedicures never look great. They do the absolutely bare minimum on your feet. - they're very expensive, considering that they don't do a good job. - almost every time, I've had to go to another salon to fix what BonLierre did or didn't do. - right at this very second, 3 days later - I'm sitting at another salon fixing their sloppiness. It's unfortunate because the salon is nice and the people that work there are probably well-intentioned, but not worth the effort or money. They have done figuring stuff out to do. Read Less

The only reason this review is getting a star is because of Ivy. She is the only reason anyone should ever go to this nail salon.My sister and I had been looking for our go to nail place and stumbled upon this place a few months ago. The first time we went the gel manicures were so so, my sister was unhappy with the way her nails were done, Ivy had to fix them before we left.Last week, my sister and I made an appointment and requested Ivy do one of us, and asked to be set up with someone as great as her. Well this wasn't the case when we got there. First, we were told Ivy would be there in 30-40 min after our appointment time. My sister waited a bit and then realized that she would have been in the salon 2 hours by the time her nails were complete. I was set up with a guy for my gel manicure and a nice lady for my pedicure. The pedicure was ok, nothing extra ordinary. The guy who did my gel manicure, was AWFUL. His hands were clammy and he has a bad attitude. He didn't even file my nails evenly, i had to fix them myself before he applied the gel. I should have just walked out when we realized Ivy wasn't there. Before applying any of the gel polish, he asks me how many coats I would like, I said 2, because thats the number of polish coats I typically get. well after he applied the second coat he tells me he needs to do a third coat... well yeah, because it was uneven and looked terrible, applying the third coat was the only way to make the manicure look decent. He argued with me and tried to tell me that 3 coats is normal. ok buddy, if thats what you say. One of my nails wasn't even completely painted. 3 coats and he managed to miss some of the nail??? he insisted on fixing it, which left the nail bubbled, a darker color and just overall looking bad. By the end of the manicure, I had gel polish all over my fingers. I asked him to remove the now hard gell from my skin he proceeded to use the cuticle nippers to snip the paint from my skin, going through the motions and not paying attention he nipped my skin pretty well that i had to pull my hand away. what normally takes 1 hour, is now running into an hour and a half. I told him at that point I had enough and needed to leave, he then poured a ton of cuticle oil on my hands to try to help remove the excess gel polish.At the end of the service while checking out the owner of the salon asks how everything was, I explained the situation to him and he just looked at me with a blank stare and said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do for me. However, Ivy was still not at the salon, and the owner offered my sister 10% off of her next service for the inconvenience. How about keep the customers you have in the store happy before you try getting them to come back? He then told me to come back in an hour and someone could fix it. Come back in an hour?!? I've already spend 1.5 hours here, I'm not coming back. The owner was clearly trying to train a new receptionist, and she couldn't wait to swipe my credit card for the $70 pedi/gel mani that I was so dissatisfied with. Ivy is the only asset to that salon, and the quiet atmosphere. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place if they are looking for somewhere that has customer service. Read Less

But this time i just decided to change the shape of my nails:) so my Friend Janney  recommended me to visit his beautiful place!The girl who did manicure is Sindy and i recommend her if you decide to visit this salon. She is attentive,very gentle,helpful. My Almond shape nails goal was reached! She did it perfectly! BonLierre is a lovely, quiet, and inviting space in Santa Monica. The living wall sets a certain tone you can't deny. And my favorite part was the owners' Corgi walking about. This all contributed to a peaceful retreat experience. Aesthetics and serenity.Don't expect to be yelled at to pick a color immediately upon walking in. You're seated, and the color samples are brought to you. How civilized! The chrome colors are absolutely stunning! Expect an add-on of $15 for chrome, and $25 for gel. Skin polisher mani/pedi $70 + $40 add-on for chrome gel mani = $110.Once you're done choosing your colors and services, sit back and enjoy a hot artichoke tea and your relaxing me time at BonLierre. The male owner (Bon?) was very attentive, and customer-oriented. He seemed very passionate about his business, and it showed in all of his actions: from the way he chops up and presents all the "food" ingredients on a charcuterie type board for your foot bath like a chef to the way he monitors to ensure your comfort. It's so refreshing to see a business run this way. He seemed to sincerely care about each client's experience.Making an appointment is a bit clunky, and could use some improvement:- As a walk-in, I requested a mani/pedi. She said that she didn't have time at the moment for both services, but she will if I came back in an hour. I asked if she had time for one service right now. Yes, she did. Can I just get started on one right now then? I figured by the time I was done with my pedi, about an hour would've gone by anyway, right?? Um anyway, that's what we did. - When I tried to call for an appointment ahead of time (to avoid a similar situation), the phone would ring, then hang up on me. This happened over and over several times. I sent a message via Yelp. As it turns out, their "system" doesn't take blocked calls. But there's no message that tells you anything to that effect. It just disconnects you. Seems like an odd way to run a service-oriented business to not take all types of incoming phone calls?Parking is metered street parking.P.S. I don't know how this place got 4.5 stars.AVOID!!! I messaged the owner on here weeks prior to making this appointment. I have nexgen on my nails which is all powder. I asked specifically if they carry the powder. I was informed they do its called a different name.So I don't make an appointment I walk over on a Thursday AM. Yelp says they open at 930. I wait until they finally show up at 1030 to find out they Have no room for me.  Ok understandable I comeback the next day for my appointment at 10 am.I have again the powder on. Sat in the chair looking through the nail colors. Bon the manager is standing near where I'm sitting and I asked do these nail colors come in the powder? He says yes. Great. I chose my color and she continues. She fills them then whips out the gel UV machine. I said I don't want gel. I made sure I called to ask if you carry powder colors and i was told yes 2 different occasions. Now my only option is gel or regular polish. At this point I'm exhausted worked a 17 hour overnight shift in the hospital the last thing I want to do is wait for polish to dry.She does the gel puts the top coat and I'm done. No hand massage and no cuticle trimming nothing!!! It's $40 to fill with powder Then $ 20 to put gel on!'WHAT!!! SERIOUSLY for $60 for my nails you don't massage my hands or trim my cuticles. I'm beyond upset with the service this place has. If I'm getting a fill on my nails and say Mani/pedi I just don't get what the 4.5 stars is for. I have never been to a salon that doesn't do the cuticles or even says hey it's not included it's xyz cost. Bon at check out I expressed and he saw how upset I was. He wanted to charge me $10 more dollars to go back and do my cuticles. Now the pedicure was good. She wasn't very personable but it's ok I had one ear bud of my headphone in and was listening to something. She said maybe three words to me "Hi" "what color" and "bye" she yawned a lot the whole time maybe she went out and had a late night. Idk she did a good job on my toes so I was happy. Only complaint I have is that you place your legs on this bar that is attached to a bench your nail woman is sitting on and it's not comfortable bc your holding your legs up this entire time. You can't relax otherwise I would push her away bc her bench is on wheels and feel times I was cramping and I ended up rolling her a little. So seating like this was a first for me. I travel east to west coast monthly so I get my nails done wherever I am and when I'm due so I go to a lot of places. This was an unfortunate upset by yelp.Overall for $85 for fill ONLY and regular pedicure is ridiculous. I would pay that if it came with the normal manicure process as everywhere else does so when I'm done my nails actually look like I just got them done and not nasty over grown cuticles with pretty shiny nails and dry skin from all the nail scrapping that was done to get the color off from the beginning. The CUTEST salon. It's bright and airy with comfortable big chairs you can sink into. Everything is top of the line and super sterile.  They use orange wood sticks to push back your cuticles as opposed to reusable metal, everything smells fresh and divine, like a nice spa, and the ingredients they use are top notch. Their color selection is very good and they have all of their colors in both gel and regular so that you can mix and match to your hearts content. $45 for gel mani. $25 for regular pedi. I'm looking forward to trying a design out for the holidays. The price is very good for the quality of product and service you get. I'm so excited this place is around the corner from my bf's place.
