I was expecting a "solidly good " experience for my first facial at Yoso Wellness, and was pleasantly surprised to have a "superb" one. I was introduced to Yoso because it is located in the same building as my family doctor. When I discovered that Yoso carried the same line of skincare and makeup products that I had been using for the past year or so, it was a no brainer to purchase my replacement and new skincare products (Eminence and Jane Iredale) at Yoso rather than online. I tend to not want to spend discretionary dollars on what I categorize as indulgences (like skin care), but with quickly aging and thinning skin, my thinking has changed. Last week, I received my first facial in probably a decade. I had a 90 minute "skin to soul" with JennaLee thanks to my Sweetheart for getting me a gift certificate. I did not know what to expect, in fact, I thought perhaps 90 minutes seemed too long. Although, JennaLee does a great job of providing a relaxing atmosphere, engaging in conversation all the while the facial and/or massage(s) are being provided. When we were done, I felt like a new person. I have been afforded go...od skin - but can always be better. I had a facial with Melanie and I want to tell everyone how wonderful my experience has been, during and since then. I opted for an organic Skin to Soul facial ($135 for 90 glorious minutes). The staff there was very welcoming and friendly. Melanie herself is very approachable and warm, and had a soothing manner that made me relax instantly. The facial experience was sublime, partly her skill and demeanor, and partly the Eminence skin care products. Wow! I had been referred by my stylist because I've had such skin issues. I am a fair-skinned redhead and have very sensitive and dry skin. Most products have things I'm allergic to. On top of that, I have asthma so I have to be very careful with scented products and chemicals. The final kicker is that my skin has been so dry and flaky that I have trouble wearing sunscreen and makeup together. Melanie listened to all my explanation and asked for details, and then designed my facial specifically to target my concerns while supporting my specific requirements. She gave me the full treatment with some amazing Eminence products, and the additional hand, shoulder, foot and leg massage was just an added piece of wonderful. She also discussed skin care with me. She didn't suggest any products to me until I asked for her recommendations. It was clear she was there to care for my skin and provide a great experience, not to make me buy their products. With her recommendations and guidance, I decided to get the Bright Skin starter kit which contains cleanser, mask, booster-serum and sunscreen, targeted to lighten and brighten skin. I also got their strawberry-rhubarb exfoliant. And I couldn't be happier! My skin has been so soft, supple and conditioned that I can actually walk out of the house with just sunscreen and feel confident. People have mentioned how great my skin looks and it's not just me fishing for feedback; my skin has noticeably improved in just 10 days. And I am super excited to report I didn't break out nor did I have asthma problems. Woo hoo! That is really the clincher for me. Our daughters skin has improved dramatically after only 5 treatments. On her last appointment Jamie thought she had makeup on; nope it was bare. The organic makeup, skin care products, loving advice/ guidance and, amazing woman ( Jennalee & Jamie)are a very special addition. Jennalee is always mindful of how important our daughters overall well being is for her and, will give her a little foot massage or put sunscrean on her face as she is leaving that makes her face look so ...good! I had a 90 minute facial with Chrissy. Unbelievable. Not only was Chrissy very warm and kind but her expertise and knowledge was evident throughout the process. I have been dealing with very problematic skin after chemotherapy and Chrissy was so helpful in developing an appropriate plan to address the damage done by treatment. The Eminence line she used was incredibly impressive. I am very picky when it comes to chemicals and additives in skincare. Ive been getting facials from Melanie Kay for at least 2 years, mostly the 90 minute treatment. I get the aging skin treatments and enjoy all of the product used. But product isn't everything. Melanie is very conscious about her approach in both the facial and massage. My skin is radiant after a treatment and Im pretty blissed out (yep, Melanie gets you into the zone!). Even as I age, I find my skin is looking better. Melanie is supportive of my quirks in taking care of my skin (sometimes I want do, sometimes I dont) and there is never any judgement.
