I wish someone would call state board to give them a surprise visit. It is so unsanitary. The nail covers to take off my gels had some old used cotton in it and she just took it out and used it on my nails. She dremeled my natural nails which are usually very long and strong and are now so weak and thin. It was so terrible I asked her to stop and I left. Go somewhere else!! Read Less

I hate to give bad ratings but here it is. My experience itself was great and my manicure and pedicure looked just as I had hoped...but, once i removed the polish from my toes a few weeks later, I discovered an ugly toe nail infection/fungus on one of my toe nails, and i've been battling it for weeks since with an anti-fungal treatment. It's the only place i've been for a pedicure; I only went in to have my nails done before a wedding. I usually do them at home, myself. I think it comes with the territory and it's a risk you take at nail salons, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable. Unsanitary.  The woman giving my my manicure had a cold or the flu, and kept sneezing.  They don't swap out tubs in between customers, just swirl cleaner in the bath.  My girlfriend and I got pedicures there and both of us came away with athletes' foot.  I hesitated to write this, as it feels bad to tell a business this, but perhaps this is a chance to clean up their act. This is my go to nail salon. I work right down the block from Today's Nails and pop in when I find time to treat myself. They always find time to accommodate me, even when I don't have an appointment. I've had a few different people work on me and today I had Hugh and Yen. They are so great at giving me a thorough pedicure and always do a great job on my gels. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place! Read Less

This nail salon is by far the best in town. I've been their loyal customer long ago. They never let me down and always impress me with their great services. I got my $38 Spa Pedicure & Manicure with them today and as always i really loved the way my nails turned out. The ladies here were sweet and professional, they really took their time on customers. They cleaned up every tools that has been used for previous customers and that is a plus point from me. The price was just too reasonable for such a good works . This is a hit or miss place.  I had one person do my feet and another do my hands.  feet look great, hands look awful.  Also, everything's very outdated which always gives the impression of dirty.  I don't know, better places exist. Read Less

Incredible service! Ladies here are very nice and good at what they do. Their massage chairs not only does your back but calves as well!! I came in for a quick gel polish and the girl that did my nail was fast and accurate. No bubbles or paint around my fingers when I was done. They have basic drinks there which was nice! I just stopped hear on my way back from a music festival. My feet were so incredibly dirty and sore and I had toenail that was practically in half.  The place was clean and friendly and I walked right in and got an appt without calling ahead.  He must have massaged my legs and feet for at least 10 minutes and was very careful to avoid all the bumps bruises and cuts i had everywhere while still doing a nice job. This is the absolute worst place I have ever been. I asked for a spa pedicure and they were so busy they put me in a chair and dipped my feet in a plastic storage tub, covered in a trash bag, filled with hot water. There was NOTHING relaxing about this, more like work having to keep repositioning my feet on this tiny platform. I asked for a manicure pedicure, they pointed to a chair so I sat down. When it was over I got charged for a "Spa Manicure/Pedicure". I told them I only asked for a manicure/pedicure and I was told that I need to indicate Regular. So if you don't know better to say the word Regular, they are going to charge you for the Spa- which isn't even worth the $10 more. DO  NOT GO HERE FOR WAXING. They burned my face and I am now desperately trying to use ointments and cold compresses to mend what their horrible products and waxer did to my upper and lower lip area this past weekend. i wasnt expecting anything special when i went in here, but what i got was the best full set of acrylics i've had in years!  yen did a fantastic job, she really took her time.  i tipped 8 dollars because i was so happy.  plus it was really inexpensive.  27 bucks for a full set!  awesome! Read Less

Don't get me wrong, I think Today Nails is one of the better nail salons in Santa Barbara...which isn't saying much given the atrocious service elsewhere, especially on State St. They usually give speedy service with nice, firm massage pressure and expertly painted nails. However, I would say that simple manicures and pedicures are their strong suit, which I unfortunately found out when I got on of their more expensive "Royal" pedicures. This treatment included parrafin wax and 15 minutes of massage. The man who did my massage was looking at the clock constantly, which made me uncomfortable. Also, for the parrafin wax, he brought out the whole tray and had me awkwardly place my feet in it as he held it up, as wax splashed everywhere and on my legs. It also seemed kind of unsanitary. Bottom line: go here when you want a quality, simple manicure and pedicure. Go elsewhere when you want something special. Read Less

Good all around - reasonably priced.  Nice peaceful music, and the complete deluxe pedicure and manicure are a welcome indulgence.   Helen has worked fine, the owners are good - if one doesn't expect Bacara or Four Seasons environment and just a comforting good foot and nail care  - this place we recommend.  Parking next door is handy.   And the hair salon next door is cool too. I happen to be in the neighborhood and after a day of errands, dog cleaning and cleaning, I looked down and thought: I should probably also have clean nails.I walked in and it was a quarter to 6pm, the sign said they close at 5pm on Sat, so I was about to turn around but the gal inside asked what I wanted and then instructed me to sit in station 1.  I opted for the regular pedi $20.  Spa pedi I think is $27, maybe $25. The regular was just fine enough for me, I am not a fan of those "massage" chairs.  The pedi took about an hour and I didn't catch the woman's name that was working on me, but she was pretty thorough and nice.  I recommend for a quick and well done pedi. PS: As I was sitting there it was a quarter after 6, and another gal walked in and they took her too.  I though that was pretty nice of them, but considering that it's summer, they may want to do some summer hours.   And I parked on State, but I'm not sure if there are other lots, but the parking was sort of annoying.
