Super disappointed with this nail salon. I keep trying to give it a chance, and keep getting disappointed. Upon sitting down to get a pedicure, i noticed the water was extremely hot. Left my feet out & mentioned, "its too hot" (like scalding) the woman forcefully was trying to put my foot in. I kept telling her it was too hot. Apprently that was frustrating to her and it was extremely visible. She finally fixed the water temp. Second, i was grossed out by the fact that the tubs did not have a plastic filter on them. What if the person before me had fungus on their feet? I dont want that. She finally started doing my nails. My nails were were filed down and going in all types of diections (meaning she did not file them to look the same all across) she started painting my nails and wasnt fully covering the nails w polish. I pointed it out on a few of the toes and she VERY forcefully literally SHOVED my hand out of the way. It was SO rude. She still didnt fully cover the nails. I pointed a few nails out a few mins later and asked, "can you please fullyget polish on the nail bed? Only about half of this nail is painted" and AGAIN, she forecfully pushed my hand off my own foot. I was not happy about that. It almost felt like i was a kid getting a slap on the wrist. In total she probably spent 20 mins on my pedicure and didnt get rid of cuticles. OH, and one of my nails isnt fully covered w polish. Another thing, she didnt offer me sandals after. Just left. I had to ask someone else for sandals. Extremely unpleasant experience. She didnt bother to ring me up and i was left to wait at the front til someone took my card to charge me. NOT TIL AFTER the other woman charged my card did she mention that i was charged $26 and not $25 because there's apparently $1 fee for charging cards. Im sorry. Thats bull. And i wasnt even using an AMEX. I was so frustrated at this point that i said, "you should probably mention that $1 before you charge people" she ignored me. I still left a tip, but i DEFINITELY will NEVER be back. Do yourself a favor. Go elsewhere. The 2 women i dealt with were rude and careless. Ps. If u look at the photo of my pinky toe, u can see she did not take care of the cuticles and did not fully paint the nail even after i asked her about that TWICE. Read Less

I came here in need of a basic gel mani since it was late in the evening and my regular place was closed. My gel mani peeled off within days. It was almost like the manicurist knew it was going to happen. She warned me "if they start peeling, don't pull them off, it's bad for your nails" .... umm? .... my manicure wasn't great. Nails were not properly filed and the nail polish coats looked uneven. While I was there I witness a poor girl whose nails were ruined twice, once by the UV light and once by their quick dry spray. They painted her nails 3 different times. The staff looked annoyed with her when really she should've been annoyed at them. I don't see myself coming back. Read Less

The 3 star review is a combo of the 5 star I would give to my nail agent Ngan and the 1-2 stars I would give for the actual manicure. She was such a gem, and so nice and funny!The nail polish was not distributed evenly on the nails and the clear coat on top was done a little messy, so it made the final product look like they had NOT been done by a professional. However, I totally loved my nail agent and I would go back to see her and just tell her what I disliked about it. My nails are starting to chip after only 4 days, and the color has changed from a nude to an awkward orange. However, I do want to note that there was a pretty weird circumstance happening that day. They had an uncooperative customer who was refusing to pay and was causing a commotion that began before we got there and ended after we left. This customer even ended up hitting and kicking one of the other nail agents (poor girl!). I thought Nu-Image handled it very professionally, and I truly think any mistake on my manicure was due to the distractions this lady was causing. It was quite a scene, so everyone was truly involved in the situation. I would definitely go back and give them another shot to see if it turns out better when not distracted.Helpful tip: the basic manicure is $15 if you pay cash, $16 if you use card. Read Less

Would not recommend. I would definitely not return. The lady who did my manicure was extremely slow and barely touched my cuticles. It was clear that she didn't know how to remove gel polish and then charged $5 for it. She didn't even get it all off. She also didn't file my nails. See below the "finished"product.Read Less

I havent been here for a year and went in today for a pedi.  My sister was with me and she got a mani. It was calm in the beginning, then a bunch of people started coming in for pedis. The guy who was doing my pedis was great but did not offer those really thin flip flops. Im assuming he had forgotten because there was crowds coming in. Then i decided to get a mani and the lady was super nice and all until i got up to wash my hands to wash away all the acrylic dust on my nail. I had left my sisters debit card (i forgot my wallet in the car) and she charged me without my consent. I mean, in a way its fine because i wouldnt have to ruin my nails. Anyways, i see my total was 91.00 so kindly ask if she can please verify me my charges because theres no detail of it on the receipt. The lady gets out her pen abruptly while doing my nails and just yells at me "YOU AND HER FOR MANI BUT ONE FOR CUTICLE, EXTRA $5 FOR CUTICLE. SO $30 FOR YOU AND 35 FOR HER AND YOU GET PEDI SO $25 FOR YOU. SO WHAT IS THAT?!?" Geez lady, i just kindly asked the charges, i wasnt being skeptical, i just wanted to know! After that she just left and went on to another person without even a thank you or me saying thanks to her.Also if they ASK "cuticle?" when doing mani and Callous?" while getting a pedi. ASK IF ITS EXTRA CHARGE!!! They dont tell you its extra, but if you say yes its $5. Im glad i asked if it was extra because otherwise id get charged $5 extra. They also charge $1 for using debit/credit. In result, i plan to never come here. Youre better off at Perfect 10 Nail Salon on Milpas. I went in a few days ago and asked for Kim and they said Kim is not in yet, so I asked what time Kim would be there and the lady thought about it for a minute didn't even look at a schedule and then told me she wouldn't be in till 2. This was 10 min after they had opened so she probably thought I needed to get them done right away. I told her I would wait and asked if I could make an appointment. The lady hesitated for a moment and then said yes you can make an appointment for 2 pm. I looked at her and said yes 2 pm. With KIM. I went about my day, I was in goleta, left around 1:30 just in case there was traffic. I got there and the same lady was still there. She wanted to sit me down with another girl. I said no I made an appointment with Kim. She then said oh sorry Kim is on vacation.... not only did she waste my time and my gas. She lied. For that I will never go back and give them my business. Terrible! I made an appointment for myself and three friends. When we sat in our chairs we had soaked our feet for at least 30 minutes before anyone came to start the pedicure. Two of my friends got up and left it was taking so long. The water was cold , I think there was not enough employees to help 4 people at one time. The employees seemed very distracted as well with so much chaos going on. It was not relaxing at all. I actually felt stressed out!!! I would never go back and I do not recommend this salon at all!! I came in two days ago for a fill & had a wonderful experience. Vicky did my nails and she did a great job. Each nail looks the same and isn't crooked or messed up. Also she was very polite & friendly to chat with, without seeming "fake friendly" (which I can't stand). I had no wait time and she got finished in under an hour which was great. The interior of the salon was my favorite part, it's super cute with a dolphin mural and cathedral ceilings. Chairs were comfy, everything seemed clean and well kept. Definitely my new nail salon! This place is to be avoided ... The worst manicure I have ever had. Sitting here typing this eight hours after my so-called manicure my nails are still tacky and the finish is pitted and not at all shiny. I agreed to a $15 manicure which started well, but halfway through I was swapped to another manicurist. She was short-sighted and constantly had to correct the varnishing around my nails. I think she finished my manicure with the wrong top coat which should harden and protect ... But it didn't. I gave them $20, and was immediately asked how much change I wanted. I asked for $2 change, but it never arrived. I know I should have pursued but it seemed mean - but I wish I had. Not even worth $2, let alone $20. I have known the owners and been a loyal customer here for 20 years, and would not go anywhere else. The owners are the most gracious, hard working and honest people I know. Their customer service is always superior, services professional, and atmosphere relaxing and peaceful. They treat you like family and will go out of their way to be sure you are pleased and have a good experience. The store is always very clean and you can count on consistent service here. I always recommend them for large parties and weddings, as they will custom design any service package to accommodate the customer's needs. In today's world of dwindling attention to detail and truly authentic customer service, these folks still do it the right way by treating every customer as their #1 priority. Read Less

If you like your nails to look fabulous and you are into perfection, this is your place. I have been going here since it opened and find all the employees friendly and qualified. I have had pedicures, manicures and silk wraps. Each procedure has been done to perfection. This establishment is super clean, beautifully decorated and relaxing. Although I make an appointment, most people are walk-ins. It has many tables and eight spa chairs as well as many employees. It is the best place in Santa Barbara for nails and waxing and the prices are very reasonable. Read Less
