This place isn't super fancy so my 5 star rating doesn't reflect that aspect but I must say that for the price I received an amazing pedicure and Anita was SO SWEET to me.  She took a ton of time and gave me some advice on how to head off a nail problem that was worsening.  She did a great job and was super personable and lovely.  I am so excited that I can walk here from home; they will become my new go-to nail place.  I really enjoyed her; a lovely woman and of course she did a great job. I would have to give this a 0 out of 5! The worst place in santa barbara. I went to creative nails because they were the only nail salon that wasnt busy, and my regular salon had a really long wait. When i walked they seemed annoyed that i wanted acrylics done. Anita was nice enough to service me. I have been getting my nails done since i was 13,(now 19) so ive seen plenty of times how they apply acrylics. when she started on my nails. She really thinned out my real nails. I had to tell her to stop because they were thin enoughand it was starting to hurt. Then she started with the acrylics, when she was applying it on i noticed how the acrylic its self was on my skin and it was also really bumpy on my nail.I thought she would clean it off and even it out but she just took some of it off and just went over with the buffer. One of my nails came out very crooked and i had asked her to fix it. She seemed very annoyed that i had pointed this out.This had already taken over 1 hour!! When i go get my nails done at my regular place i would have been drying my nail polish by now. When she was done she started on my nail polish. when applying my nail polish she applied it very thick, she had also missed some spots and when i asked if she could go over it she just sighed very annoyingly and did it. I was getting very annoyed my self because i did not expect it to take this long. When she was finally i done after 2 hours! I just paid her and left. I though that was the end of it. Later that night was sitting on my couch and when i got a pillow to move it nail just popped off!! I was really annoyed. I had decided i was going to go back in the morning to get my money back. 3 more nails came off during the night. When i walked in the salon again i showed Anita what had happened and she said she would only give me back half of my money and it was my fault the nails came off, i said i wasnt leaving without a full refund because i didnt spend the money i did to just have my nails come off a couple of hours later. Well I'll never forget this strenuous day.So I start by calling a bunch of nail salons in this area to see who has the best rates for a gel manicure.  It ranges 30-45 dollars, most places being $35 and this was the only place I could find to get a gel manicure for $30.  I have had many manicures in my lifetime and this one was by far the worst manicure I have ever gotten.  First the preparation wasn't bad with filing my nails and cutting the cuticles, although it took forever. I wasn't sure if the lady was just trying to be thorough or just couldn't see what she was doing.  When she started to paint my nails it was as if she was trying to save the nail polish and barley putting any color on my nail. I had to ask for three coats because the color was so light.  She also kept hitting my nails when she was working on them causing the color to get all over her hands and then all over mine. It was very sloppy and I had to show her to take off the color on my skin.  She also wouldn't paint my nails all the way, she would leave the inner parts close to the nail bed with no color on them until I pointed it out. The end result was not nice at all it was blotchy and not even.  You can see the ridges and creases in my nails from when she would touch them and then not redo it but just paint over it.  When I pulled out my credit card to pay they said they didn't take cash. There is no sign clearly marked that says cash or check only and I didn't have any on me. They then advised me to go to trader joes (across the street) to get cash back on my card.When I left for trader joes I left my backpack as insurance so they knew I wouldn't just run off with my terribly painted nails.  I couldn't get cash back on my card because it was a credit card so when I walked out of trader joes and look across the street to see cop car siting outside the nail salon.  I talked to the cop and explained what happened and he told me to go to the chase bank 5 blocks away and left. I went to chase and ended up getting the money back to them but I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I have never been in trouble with the law and it was very traumatizing seeing the cop car. I left my backpack as collateral and I really don't seem like a thief. This place is super cute and very cost effective. I have been going to them for a year now and they always treat me like a princess, engage me in conversation, and give me long leg and arm rub downs when getting my mani pedi. This is the cheapest place in Santa Barbara that I have found so far and they are still quality. I love their gel nails. Read Less
