I rarely get my nails done, but when I do, I always take the time to book an appointment with Avatar Nails & Spa! My first visit with them was a super last minute walk-in around 6:00 for a fill. The ladies were kind enough to let me in for an appointment. After the fill, I was 100% satisfied- the manicurist, Jen- she was completely gentle with my nails as well being such a sweet lady to talk to!  Months later, I came back for a new set with them ($40 for acrylic gel set), and once more, they did NOT disappoint! I requested for Jen again and right when I got there, she took care of me! She really took the time and delicately shaped/perfected my nails! Super sweet and was very kind to my boyfriend and I! The ambience inside the room is so peaceful, I love the amenities they carry like tea and coffee. The music is peaceful as well as the noise level. Very spacious. Last but not least, the ladies are welcoming right when you come in and are nice ladies to talk. Happened to stumble upon this place because the usual nail salon that I got to was too busy to take me in. But I'm so glad for it. This is my new fave nail place and it's so close to home! All the girls are super nice and they try to be delicate with your nails.I have yet to get my nails done by Benny. Perhaps I'll schedule an appointment with her next. She's such a doll though. My trusty coworker recommended this place, I knew I had to try it out. I'm a clean and neat freak and very detail oriented. The salon is clean, well kept and I had Bennie do my nails.. she is AMAZING! So sweet, and she did a fabulous job on my coffin nails. I've been having Bennie do my acrylics for over 2 years.  She was recently at Ken Nails in Dublin, but now owns Avatar.  She is a perfectionist (very important) and also very fast (in and out within a hour (equally important).  I am very picky, but have never had a bad fill with Bennie.  In fact, I've recommended Bennie to at least 4-5 friends AND my three adult daughters are loyal customers to Bennie also.  She is an in-demand nail technician, so call ahead.  She will work hard to fit you in too if she's booked!! I'm always skeptical about trying a new nail salon because I'm super picky about my nails. But I got tired of traveling all the way to the city just for my nails so I decided to try a place closer to my house. To be honest, I chose to try a different place but when they didn't have availability to take me they referred me to Avatar nails and I couldn't be happier. I called before I went in and they were able to get me in within the hour. I wanted a pedicure and full set. Bennie did my hands while Minnie did my toes and they worked on me at the same time. Love this place! Bennie and her staff are SUPER friendly and knowledgable. The place is very clean and i like how they use disposable plastics for the foot spa. Located on San Ramon Valley blvd, it's a small little plaza next to the Chevron gas station. I followed Benny here, which is now under new management as of July 1st! I couldn't be any more happy for her and this place. It's real big and sanitary. I mean as always, Benny is my go to and does an amazing job everytime. Today was my first time visiting Avatar Nails & Spa and my experience was amazing. Bennie is amazing! She is patient and cares about the work she does. My nails look great. I loved my pedicure! The woman who did my pedi was so good, she gave me the most relaxing massage. It was nice that they have a TV and had it on HGTV. For a gel fill and a pedicure it came out to $60 which is not bad considering the great service and quality work. I will be back and I will be bringing my mom and friends too! Read Less

Avatar Nails is the BEST.  Not only is it clean and inviting, but their hospitality is also top notch. They have a variety of hot/cold drinks available for their clients from coffee, assortment of teas, bottled water, etc. They also have candy or cough drops for you!  I request Kathy every time I call but honestly every one there is great! Kathy is patient and informative in helping me manage my calluses and tired feet. She is also the best at waxing/sculpting my eyebrows as well. I miss the old management, this place sucks now! I was really hesitant to come here after Holly sold the business. I made two appointments for mani/pedis for myself and my daughter. I ended up bringing my little one and my niece and they accommodated all of us! They were all awesome! My daughter got gel for the first time and was so happy. DID NOT CLEAN FOOT TUB BETWEEN CUSTOMERS!?!! I was there for the last time when I witnessed one customer leave and all the lady did was rinse the tub. No chemicals poured in, no scrubbing, nothing. Was in the area so I stopped here for a quick mani pedi. Kathy, my nail specialist was awesome! She did a great job on both my fingers and toes. I left feeling fully satisfied. They have a pretty large variety of colors here, so whatever you're in the mood for, I'm sure they have a color that will fit you perfect. The salon itself was very neat and clean. This place was great. My regular nail place was packed across the street so I called in for two pedicures. The employee was friendly and forward. As we arrived, we were seated in our massage pedicure chairs within 5 minutes. This was nice especially since I went in without an appointment. They also had mainly OPI nail, as their brand for color selection. OPI is ony of my favorites, since it doesn't chip easily. The place was simple and pretty clean. The chairs were great and had the massage remote built into them, easier since the remote usually gets lost or dirty. Anyway, the standard $20 came with a solid leg massage and of course, polish. I appreciated that during the pedi the employees were really friendly and did NOT talk to each other in their foreign language (because that can get awkward). My first and only visit to Avatar nails was this past Sunday. I am not from the area, but was in town to visit family and was looking for a place I could stop for a gel manicure. I came here based on the reviews, but was extremely disappointed. When I walked in, I asked if they had time for a gel manicure. The women just looked at each other, then the clock, then with a big sigh one woman who did my manicure said "sit." That should have been my first clue to leave. I had no idea what time they closed, as the sign on their door for the hours they close on Sundays was not there. If they didn't have time or desire to do my nails, I would have totally understood. The woman who ended up doing my nails was nice and talkative, which is the only reason I didn't give one star. She rushed through my gel manicure, leaving all the ends of the polish around my cuticles jagged and not smooth. This resulted in two of the nails lifting within two days, and now all are lifting after one week. I've had gel manicures done more times than I can count, and I almost always get 2 weeks of wear out of them before they start peeling or lifting. For spending $30 at this place, having to get a replacement set at my normal salon a week later is really frustrating. Its so frustrating when people don't take pride in their work and feel that this insufficient job was acceptable. Read Less
