I love the relaxed quiet atmosphere, and back/arm/leg message. They have the timing down so your nails are almost dry when you are ready to go. They are a little more expensive then do of the local places and it is highly recommended to have an appointment, but it is worth it. Read Less

I feel compelled to write a review for Polish Nail Spa because this is definitely one of the best nail salons in the Bay Area. They were able to squeeze me in last minute on a Saturday afternoon, and were really nice and accommodating when I let them know I needed to be done within an hour.My regular, non-gel mani lasted a week and a half with no chips which was amazing!!! They also had these electric heel buffers for pedicures that were way more efficient and effective than regular buffers. The leather chairs were incredibly comfortable and the space was clean, hygienic, and peaceful. Recommend making an appointment here if you're in the area! Read Less

I have tried nails salons in Berkeley, Oakland and SF. I finally found what has prooved to be the best lasting mani pedi in the bay area. My gel nails 9 days later are flawless and most incredibly my pedicure which was not gel is still in mint condition. I work in a kitchen so I put both my feet and hands in constant heat, sharp tools etc.... They look just as perfect as they did 9 days ago. Not to mention it was significantly cheaper and they spent an extra hour then I am used to. Neck, leg and foot massage! I will never stray from them. A two-hour appt that was a total spa feel. I love Polish more for what it isn't than anything else. Firstly, they use the gentlest, least toxic chemicals so the place smells nice, not like acetone. Secondly, there is a no-cell-phone policy so you can have peace and quiet (and hear your own thoughts) instead of having to listen to some obnoxious idiot witter away about their life. Thirdly, the place is decorated in a sparse but pleasing minimal style, not like some salons which are uber-tacky and often have some horrid pictures on the walls. Last but not least, you get a great manicure and/or pedicure with quality materials (maybe not the biggest choice of polishes in the world but that's a small quibble.) The technicians also don't chatter away to one another unless they need to, which is polite for the customer and doesn't give you the "Seinfeld problem" either! One of the most important things for me is that the use of gentler chemicals is better for the health of the technicians. When I got a manicure in some other places all I could think of is how unhealthy exposure to that stuff is, day-in day-out, for the people who work there. By not using nasty products, I feel that Polish is a more respectful environment for their workers, and that matters to me. Read Less

Soon as I arrive they tell me I don't have an appointment, that I must be confused and made an appointment elsewhere. Only when they checked THEIR phone logs, did they believe me (even when I showed that I called on my own phone log!). I waited for 45 mts before I got into the pedicure chair. (BTW, it's not a massage chair). In addition, when I complained that my pink color choice was more clear than pink they said "no its pink". I should have pushed more for the pink color, bu  it was gel, and once you put gel on, it ain't coming off. I just paid $60 for a mani pedi that I could have done myself with glitter nail polish. I am SO happy with this place! It smells like massage oil and they use organic lotions etc. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuine. This place feels like a very relaxing spa. The music they play is so soothing and they speak to you in soft tones. They ended my gel mani with an amazing long arm and shoulder massage. I was so surprised at the quality of this place that I am now ruined for life and can't go anywhere else. I really hope they expand their services to include facials and massage rooms. My mani is going to take two weeks to grow out but I already want to go back. I will be telling all my friends about this place. Read Less
