I was really really really hoping this relationship would work out! I was specific about the nails I was requesting and with hesitation the technician agreed to do the "coffin cut". I have short nails, I bite them when I'm stressed...but she agreed to do the nails I was asking for! And then it happened...she cut them so short that they were not appealing at all! She never asked how short I wanted them, just did it! I simply said "I'm a little concerned with how short these are." Her response was that I have short nails and she doesn't think she can make me happy and that she would just cut them off and I could go somewhere else! I moved to this area a year ago and haven't been able to find anywhere to do my nails!!! I left wanting to cry today as now my short nails are sanded down and have the end of the starting base acrylics still on! Great staff, friendly owner.  Open on Sundays, which is hard to find in Marin; however, they're closed on Mondays instead.  Always a stellar job on my mani/pedi.  They don't try to upsell with rose petals in bath salt, etc.  Most places do that and before you know it, you're spending over $80-$100 for something that's plain, and you're definitely not leaving smelling like roses.  I like to pamper myself every now and then ~ treat yo self!  Comfy massage chairs, simple ambiance, nothing fancy.  They do a great job every time. FINALLY IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME! These women are simply customer service superstars****!It seemed nearly impossible to find someone good and people that take extra care to pay attention to the comfort of their customers.  These ladies clearly have thought of everything  from cheap flip flops, to special protective UV gloves while curing gel nails, all the new colors of OPI, lotion on the tips of your fingers do the glue won't stick, and they are friendly.Not superficially friendly but genuine people who welcome you into their place of business and client care is number one.My frustration with other salons has been their annoyed reactions if you're a few minutes late when you sit there waiting for them over 15 minutes and then they rush your job to catch up and huff when you have a request to trim an extra cuticle.Above all, they are so reasonably priced.  I would gladly pay more for what they offer and price is never the only concern, it always how well you're treated and LaRose treated us very well!!!While we were in there, 4 different regulars of ten years or more came in and everyone's nails and toes looked amazing!Highly highly recommend.They are located on Miracle Mile just next to TJ's crossfit.My daughter loves her nails she is more than obsessed they cleaned it up really Nicely I want to come here all the time says my daughter. i have gone to La Rose on and off for about eight years or more  and i have to say Tiffany and her "sisters" do a good job.  My complaint is about the owner's attitude and the way she has treated me over the years.   She is rude and humiliated me in front of the other customers.I have always complimented La Rose's work in front of other customers. I live in Novato and the few times that i came in without an appointment the owner yelled at me in front of everyone (customers and employees) for not having made an appointment.When i had made an appointment with her specifically - i like the way she shapes my nails; she has taken other customers in front of me. The other peculiar thing is that I get better treatment when I ask for a mani-pedi over a simple manicure.  She is more willing to give me an appointment for the mani-pedi.  Please stay away from this place, this owner likes her regulars because she is just interested in their money and not good service.  I have given her more than a few chances but if you are an infrequent customer don't expect to be treated well.  i gave her one star but she gets no stars from me but that isn't an option on Yelp. The first time I went there I got acrylic nails and filling and the next day when one of them broke I got my nail fixed for free. The third time today when I went wit my mom  and we aren't appreciated there at all! Call before going in or they will just say they can't do anything for you! Hard to rate because your experience will vary depending on who does your nails. I've had a great manicure from here and one of my absolute worst. The best was from the owner. Perfectly shaped, perfectly polished and the manicure lasted two weeks without a chip. (I always wear gloves and try to never submerge my hands in water.)  Good, firm massage. The worst was where the manicurist absolutely butchered my nails and I wanted to cry afterwards. Awful filing, crooked nails, bloody cuticles, rough cutting of cuticles, the polish around the nail bed started to lift after a few hours, nail polish was applied unevenly and not on the entire nail bed.  Rushed, lame massage.  My 8 year old daughter probably could have done a better job. So there you have it. I will probably continue to come here occasionally because it is conveniently located and the pricing is reasonable but I am always on the lookout for a better place. Read Less

This is a great little place! The woman at the front who handles scheduling gives an amazing pedicure. However, the woman I got a manicure from didn't do the most amazing job. She made it feel rushed and like she wanted to get it over with when there were no other people waiting to get their nails done.In terms of cleanliness I came in after another woman who was receiving a mani/pedi as well. They used an electric foot file to get rid of her caluses on her feet. It was plugged in to the wall across from the pedicure chairs. After they used it they left it sitting there on the ground for almost 20 minutes. Also, after she left the woman who did my manicure went to clean the woman's foot bath. She didn't use any disinfectant or let it soak for any amount of time, which is state board regulated. She simply took a scrub brush with soap and did a light scrub, washed it off with water, then put the scrub brush back in the washing sink.Over all, my nails look good, but it wasn't my favorite experience. Plus, it was dead silent except for the radio going in the background. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to anyone unless it was just for the woman at the front to do your nails. Read Less

Came to this place based on the yelp reviews.Its so hard to find a good mani/pedi place in San Rafael! I didn't think it would be so hard...this is Marin we're talking about....Its kind of rinky-dink looking from the front but it seems pretty clean on the inside. I never really understood the use of the neon signs outside, they remind me of cheap strip clubs. Anyway, the ladies were nice enough, they got me in with only an hour's notice. They have massage chairs and an ok selection of magazines. I didn't feel overly welcome, but I guess thats ok because I don't really like to talk while I am getting my mani/pedi anyway. The foot and arm massage was not long enough even though I was they ONLY one in the shop. But, they didn't get mad at me when I ruined my thumb nail right after they finished, opps! But the polish is already chipping and I was just there 2 days ago! Ugh. Good price though, only $30 for mani/pedi combo. Read Less

The treatments are wonderful, and they respect appointments. If they are busy they tell you, and never make yuo wait when you do have an appointment.
