Just left Cabana Nails. This was my second visit. The first time was courtesy of a gift card from my sister for my bday a few months ago. First visit, I got a pedicure and was very happy with the results. I liked the ambiance and friendly reception. Today, my Mani/Pedi experience left much to be desired. They were running a tropical themed mani/pedi special for $52 which the front desk person sold me on. I paid a few extra dollars to get a gel manicure. When I sat down, the friendly pedicurist greeted me, brought hot water in bronze-colored tin asked me if the temp was ok. Manicurist wasn't as personable, but I was reserving judgement til her work was done. Don't know about you, but a little divadom is acceptable as long as you're good at what you do.Any who, soon after we started, Tracy, the manicurist, stopped to take a phone call. A few minutes later, after 1st & 2nd coat and few rounds of hokiepokie in and out of the nail dryer, she was done. I looked down at my hands and saw a poorly done 3-week old manicure complete with polish splatterings, blotches and nails that were not fully polished. I pointed it all out to her. She used her file to try and correct some things. I asked if she could use alcohol to clean up further. She did so hurriedly. I tired of the back and forth. And didn't have the time or energy to coach her through a satisfactory manicure, so I let it go (kinda).(Though strangely, I found time to write this loooong review but I digress)As I waited for the pedicurist to finish, I carefully inspected my hands. The pedicurist stopped to look at them, shook her and commented that my cuticles were not cut down well enough. When the pedicurist finished up, I gave her her tip and headed to the front to pay. Before paying, I showed the cashier (who likely doubles as the shop owner) my nails and expressed that I was really unhappy with my manicure. She made some comment about my nails being short and that's why the manicure came out the way it did. She was completely unbothered and made no attempt at providing good customer service to an unsatisfied customer -- mainly ME. She was obviously just hoping to fast forward to the part where I hand her some form of payment. And I did. But not before I tried to give her another chance to make it right, by letting her know that this was my 2nd visit, and that I had returned because my 1st experience was so great...but still -- Nothing. Blank stare. So I paid. Asked if they had Yelp and proceeded to walk out. Never to return again. And this, my friends is how my very 1st Yelp review was born. I hope you enjoyed the read. And while I have 10 million other things to do, I was inspired by this grave injustice to write this bit of prose. Welp, i won't get back the time and the money is spent, but at least we have the prose.* Fin * Read Less
