First set was good, second time around 3 Nails came off within day's called them and they got them fix right away no charge. 3rd time around I went to a new girl my Nails didn't last and when they came off I had fugus on my Nail, new girl didn't put them on correctly. Knock is incredible. My second time getting hard gel by her. She takes her time, is precise, checks each nail and compares them. My last set looked perfect the whole two and a half weeks i had them. I would never go back to acrylic, the hard gel is amazing, it is pricey. However, i am getting what i pay for- incredible service and precision AND they last so long. I'm officially a client at Top Coat Nails, it's been almost 2 months and I love this place! Pink does my nails and haven't had any issues, my nails always look fabulous. I was going to another nail place for 4yrs or so but had a horrible experience the last 3 months after my nail lady left, the salon didn't stick by there appointments and for a busy women I have no time to waste. Went there for quite a while until one of the managers verbally abused me for not liking the way something was on my fingernails they were doing. I asked him to fix something and she blew a fuse and yelled at me and humiliated me to the point of Tears in front of other customers and then told me never to come back. Appointment only. When you call, they ask what service you have in mind (i.e. acrylics, gel manicure, how many nails with designs, etc.) I usually call about a week in advance. I've gone in twice and my appointments have lasted between 1 hr 15 minutes - 1 hr 30 minutes. I had an appointment at 5:30 but was 30 minutes late due to traffic after work (Ugh never drive to SJ during rush hour) and they were very understanding when I called. The woman who did my nails didn't rush me and still took her time to make sure my nails were the shape and design I wanted. I've been to other salons that rush you in and out when it was an hour before closing time (I've gotten cuts from people who were in a rush and not careful) - yet Top Coat did an amazing job on my nails. I've been very happy with both my visits and will be coming back again! (They also offer a stamp card; one stamp for every $20 spent, fill 10 stamps and you get a $5 discount)It's located in a small corner with 2-3 other shops, and has a small parking lot. Read Less

Super late review!! I went in without an appointment and was seen pretty quickly since there wasn't many people in the store.I wanted an acrylic full set and asked for a marble design. The lady shaped my nails into a coffin shape but it wasn't what I expected. I wanted the edges and sides to be more clean without curves. When it came to the design, the marble was applied with a cotton ball. It was my first time getting marble so I'm unsure if this is how it's done. I didn't like how some of the cotton balls got stuck on my nail.I also got their $25 pedicure. It was alright, I liked the lavender part but aside from this it wasn't anything special.The entire service was $70, $5 for design. I'm not sure if I will be going back. Read Less

YES, finally found a good spot in San Jose. I called and asked if they had time for my gel mani/pedi and she was able to work with me. I'm very particular once it comes to nails, considering i'm a nail technician myself.. However, T and Hannah took good care of me and did an amazing job. T made sure to ask how my nail shape before continuing onto the next step. She did a great job painting as well. My pedicure was great. The ladies we're extremely sweet and nice and not too rough. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that they reuse the popsicle stick in the sea salt exfoliating scrub for feet. In other words, they take the stick, wipe it on your feet, and put it back in there. This is unsanitary. Perhaps, you can change this by using one-time individual sauce cups.They don't carry OPI or Shellac brand for gel nails. They only use cheap products - DND and other unheard brands.
