Irene Liu is a gem! I was in Petco and the cashier had the perfect long layered cut so I asked for the name of her stylist and that's how I found Irene. I came in with a problem head of hair, so badly damaged I expected she was going to suggest I cut it short and start over. Instead she suggested a regimen of deep conditioning, give it more layers, color and see if we could strengthen my hair through products. This picture was taken at my second visit! So I've been following Shu Mei for YEARS and now she's at Salon by JC in her own private room - it's been so nice.Shu Mei is not your typical hairdresser and stylist!  Shu Mei truly understand what the latest trend is in color, cut and style.  She takes your request and will work with you to get the best look for you.  If you want something easy to take care of - or a way to look younger - she'll have the perfect answer AND know how to give it to you!!She knows how time consuming and costly hair coloring can be - and since I"m not completely grey or white - she gives me the perfect cut with the right highlights!  She's let me play around with colors - I've had red, purple, brown, brown with blond.... pretty much whatever I ask for she delivers and beautifully.I have to say also that she does SUCH an AWESOME job with my cut that there have been times I won't see for until 6 months later because it grew out so nicely - gave me a different look!  So it's not just a short term cut but a long term style!Shu Mei is so energetic, positive and fun to talk to - Love spending time with her and catching up with her like time hasn't passed.  This location is great as well since there's lots of parking and it's a nice clean environment.  Bathrooms are nice and clean and well kept.  And I can shop before or after at Nordstrom Rack - another huge plus! :)Just be sure to bring your checkbook or pay in cash - as Shu Mei doesn't take credit cards. For those who you who miss Whole Body Salon and their pedicure services, some good news - Thao (Tina) of the Whole Body Salon has a station here and she replicates the services to a T. Happy to discover that I can still get my Tangerine hops organic pedicure. It's very easy to make appointments. Just go online to the San Jose Salons by JC website. I'm a curly hair gal and I love Rose, Jenn and Maria!  They are a team of hair stylists at "Salons by JC" (near Westgate Mall) and they are all "Deva" certified which means they understand our unique "curly hair"needs.  The atmosphere is always professional and welcoming.  Rose takes the time to get to know her clients.  She is a master technician, especially when cutting curly hair.  She's even taught me how to work with my own hair to get the specific results I'm after.  No frizz or fuzzy ends.  Just beautiful, shiny, healthy hair!  Rose is not only a stylist but an excellent colorist as well.  Just down the hall I also see Milana, a fabulous aesthetician loosely affiliated with this same great team of women! One of the most important things to feel good about yourself is your hair. Truly.I was searching for my perfect hair stylist for a long time. I had one who did a  wonderful haircuts but was not so good with hair color, and another  who did highlights OK but I never was able to make her do what I want for a haircut and styling.  Now I am a happy woman. I accidentally  found this place, Salons by JC (near Westgate Mall), which has multiple independent suites where stylists/owners run their business. I just came in and spent some time walking between suites and looking for a different styles. Funny that I found my stylist on the way out, in the first suite. When I came back for my appointment, she was finishing another client and I really like what I saw. I explained what I want and she made a few suggestions. Result was wonderful - complete makeover!
