It's been a while since I've written a review but this is one that is worthy of my time.I've been getting gel manicures for several months at a location in South San Jose with a friend but it's too far from my house and I honestly wasn't thrilled with the treatment on m nails. Recently, July 3rd, I had to get them done b.c I looked a disaster. Per usual, I googled the usual "manicure willow glen" search and saw a great rating for this location which is 10 minutes from my house.I was greeted promptly (walk-ins welcome) and was asked to sit down for a pedi/mani at the same time. I had Tina do my manicure (I believe she is the owner) and she talked to me about how manicures aren't just to make your hands look good, it's to help you grow healthy nails. FINALLY! Someone gets it!  My nails were weak, cuticles not healthy and I needed to find an affordable place that will keep my nails healthy while also making them look good.The time I spent with Tina talking about nail care etc. made me feel much better about bringing my business here.A new client forever.. Thank you Tina and team for making my nails look amazing, the shape and everything. Also, knowing what it takes to keep nails looking healthy! This is my go to mani/pedi place because it's super close by, they always fit you in and it's a great deal for a basic pedicure--$25 includes a foot massage plus a hot stone and paraffin wax treatment. It's super clean and they use new plastic tubs in each of the foot baths for every customer. They have a great selection of colors and an extensive gel collection! Downside is that they're always busy so call ahead to ensure a spot without having to wait too long. Regular pedi lasts 2 weeks. Read Less

I went for a pedicure after breakfast in downtown willow glen. I've been to this salon many months prior however this visit there were no familiar faces (did the whole staff turn over?) and the pedicure I received was mediocre, at best. Pros: they accept call-ahead reservations! Place is big and clean. Good selection of colors. Cons (this visit): my pedicure was $25 plus tip and the outcome was disappointing. For me, I don't care too much about the foot massage or scrubbing; I just want my nails to be filed/cut well and painted! The scrubbing/massaging part of the service was fine. The cuticle trimming/painting was sub-par. Multiple times I had to tell the girl helping me to please stop because she was hurting me with whatever she was cutting/ trimming. I could have gotten past that if the paint job was well done, but it wasn't. She kept correcting herself with nail polish remover & a paint brush. I understand that's sometimes necessary but she did it excessively and the overall outcome reflects it. Not sure I would give this salon a return visit. Read Less

I have never been so pleased and impressed with a nail salon. This place is friendly, clean and welcoming. At most nail salons there can be a lot of chatter from the workers... NOT here. First timer at Nail Elegance this afternoon and I can't express how happy I am with how my nails turned out!  Ahn took the time to fix and fill my acrylic set from another nail salon and did so beautifully. I went with her suggestion of coffin shaped nails instead of square that I had wanted to do because, as she said, they would fit my hand shape better as well as lengthen and slim my fingers. She was right! I have a give a huge THANK YOU to Tina as well for finding gel polish that would closely match the polish I wanted on my toes. Ahn again did a fabulous pedicure for me. I don't think my poor feet have ever gotten such caring attention before. I will definitely be returning to Nail Elegance in the future. I have been coming to nail elegance regularly for over 6 years, and can't imagine going anywhere else. My sister who lives in SF even comes down here for her Mani/pedis. It is very clean but still welcoming and comfortable. There is not the nail salon smell we are often familiar with. The owner Tina knows here customers names and preferences so there is a neighborhood feel fitting for Willow Glen. It is also notable that Tina treats her employees very well which I appreciate. There is high quality control and Tina and the rest of the staff provide recommendations when needed.I get the gel polish and there are SO many colors to choose from. The pedicure chairs are again very sanitary (as are all of their tools, you get a new set). Read Less

I have been here about 4 times now and I am always pleased with my nails and the service. The owner/manager is so personable and remembers all of her clients. All of the ladies are very sweet and gentle and make sure you have the outcome you asked for. AND this is the ONLY place that has not ONCE pinched my skin when cleaning my cuticles!!! im usually terrified, but they are the best! lol  I would recommend this place to any lady who wants to be pampered and enjoy some girl time. :) Read Less

I've gone to this place twice already, 1st time they were super busy and were able to see me very soon. Everyone was nice even though the place was packed with customers. Second time, the place wasn't too busy and the lady that did my nails was super nice and talked about our plans for the weekend. They do an incredible job with nails and are very attention to detail. TINA IS A SAINT! I have been a customer of nail elegance since 2008 & refuse to go anywhere else to get my nails done. As much as I missed my parents while in Southern California for college, I might have missed Tina and her amazing staff even more. (Sorry mom.)Not only does she always accommodate me when I call for short notice "emergency" appointments, I always see her try to accommodate walk-ins as well. I don't think I have ever had to wait for an appointment either, but if you do, they have Dum Dums lollipops in the sitting area which can occupy like 4 minutes of your time! All of the women who work there are equally as efficient & talented so I never have to call to request a specific person. I have gotten just about every service they offer done on my nails, from gel manicure to french acrylics, & the product quality is top notch. They have so many color options / brands for gel polish to choose from...its actually insane. I have major commitment issues & they are always so patient with me as I attempt pick from the 40 variations of periwinkle. Also, huge fan of their pedicure chairs, who doesn't enjoy a nice back massage moment while having their feet soak in paraffin wax? Its like the adult version of seven minutes in heaven.They are also all super great with children!! I frequently bring my little cousins to get their nails done & the staff is always happily up for the challenge of drawing Olaf from Frozen on a big toe. God bless. Really horrible experience.I got a normal manicure and pedicure. They "cut and shaped my nails"- but after I got home I noticed they were left very long and sharp. The polish was uneven, and I had to specify multiple times to have my cuticles cut correctly. My nails were soaked in cold water and no cuticle oil was applied so it was uncomfortable when they pushed them and the cuticles were left jagged and rough leading to hang nails the next day. Polish was dried hastily with some quick dry drops, and as they used 3 coats of color, it smeared quickly after leaving the salon. A few women came in while I was there to have similar chips and smears fixed. The salon was very clean which gets them 2 stars, however I would never go back. The ladies were nice but just seemed like they were poorly trained our used to getting away with doing a poor job. Read Less
