Had a man-pedi with Ann and Ivy today. The space was sunny, clean and relaxing, quiet and serene. They are very kind and welcoming, and you have a choice of hot tea and biscuits to enjoy during your services. They even brought me a neck warmer, and changed it out halfway through my service. This place is one of the best nail salons I've been to! Best service in the world -- their deluxe manis and pedis are definitely worth the price tag and the technicians are super attentive and aware. They offer complimentary tea and cookies with every service as well! Messed up my manicure and they redid it the next day for free on the spot - they have a 3 day chip guarantee and it's always honored. Go to Nu if you want perfectly shaped nails and flawless polish! I found this place on yelp while visiting on vacation. It was beyond excellent! I made my appointment online,  which was so easy. As soon as I walked in the door a very nice man welcomed me and asked it I wanted any tea or water. My nail technician was named Anh.  She was phenomenal! She paid close attention to details. I rarely write reviews but this establishment has earned my time. I was able to make an online appointment (major plus) within only 24 hours notice during my lunch. The location is nearby in the heart of union square. Took the elevator to the 2nd floor and accidentally visited the business to the right, go up the stairs for the salon. The gentleman at the counter was extremely friendly and made me feel special!  He offered complimentary services that included tea, cookie and a warm neck pillow (another plus). I settled in for a classic mani with gel and a deluxe pedi with Inh who was so friendly and accommodating. She asked along the way to make sure I was happy with the shape, color, etc.  Although this is  the pricey side of traditional mani/pedis, this was totally worth it. This salon was clean and the staff was very customer service oriented. Best mani pedi place in SF. I'm from NY and so the bar is set is pretty high, most places in SF cost a lot but don't pay that much attention to detail, but Ten Zen is different. Their technicians don't seem like they're in a hurry to just get the job done and the spa manager is really attentive, offering a selection of teas and neck warmer. Went in for a mani pedi and the pedicure was fine, but the French gel manicure was terrible. It looks like a drunk person couldn't color inside the lines. Also very expensive. Would not go back for a French manicure :( Read Less

It's spacious, relaxing and nicely decorated.  Only waited 10-15 minutes for my mani pedi.  But the aesthetician was very good about checking in regularly, asking for input and direction, and conscientious.  Standard mani pedi was $48.  Parking close by at Ellis O'Farrell.  I'd come back! I came here from NYC on business and, reading another review here for similar purpose, decided to go with her recommendation. I was *not* disappointed. Hot tea of your choice, Neck warmer, and complete comfort. They had lots of color options for both my gel mani and regular pedi, and the beautician was *excellent.* Great attention to detail when cutting, filing and trimming my nails and cuticles, and she made sure both kids of polish went on very evenly. I'm from NY was in town for business. I needed a gel manicure/pedicure and stumbled on this lovely place on Yelp. The pictures drew me in and I'm glad I followed my instincts!  Beautifully design salon, comfy stations, neck warmers, selection of tea and great customer service is what this place has to offer.I got a gel removal/manicure and pedicure. The salon is sheer perfection. Beautiful decor, great ventilation, yummy tea, lovely staff.The only reason I'm taking a star off is because they rushed me out. I went during an off hour, so I was the only person there. I wasn't wearing sandals, so I wanted to wait a bit--say 15,20 minutes--for my toenails to dry so I wouldn't mess up my pedicure. The team at Ten Zen Nail Spa wowed me so much that I had to dig up my old login info, just so I can rave and pay their hospitality forward!The service here is unmatched...you can tell that the entire team simply enjoys making sure their clients have the best experience possible.  From my initial call to make a last minute appointment, to being greeted by the friendly staff immediately after walking in, offered a selection of tea (which was served with a delicious almond cookie), the tranquil ambience, my nail technician proactively checking in at each step to make sure everything was exactly to my liking (water temperature, nail shape, massage pressure) to the warm neck pillow (which was proactively swapped out half way during my treatment once it started getting cool)...every detail has been carefully thought through, with the client in mind.  The goodie bag with my personal nail files used during the treatment is an example of their thoughtful touches.For a $35 classic pedicure, I was treated like I was as a luxury spa. Even when I was the last person in the shop, the team never rushed me. I've found the perfect salon!  Close to work, great location, clean, super great staff/owners!  Can't get any better than this!  One of my biggest pet-peeves at a salon is feeling rushed.  Mai spent quality time with me and made me feel special, even though I was just taking a break during my work day.  She offered me something to drink (that also came with a cookie...bonus!), then a warm neck wrap (that she changed out to a new one when cooled).I'm ecstatic that I've found Ten Zen Nail Spa...see you soon! The location of the salon is great with lovely big windows which give you the perfect opportunity to daydream away.After I had chosen my pedicure of choice (there is many) I got to choose any nail color. I appreciated that there was not any hidden cost at any time, what you chose is what you got. I dislike when nail salons don't include all colors displayed, charge extra for removing old nail polish and so on.They bring an amazing menu of different teas to try,  a cookie and after you are finished a little goodie bag with a foot buffer and a nail file.Splendid experience! I came here earlier this week with a large party of 12 people. We all got mani pedis. The salon is very clean and spacious. I am very hesitant on trying new nail salons bc I am not sure how clean it is going to be and I only like to go to salons with a bowl for water and not a tub so I know it is clean, they have bowls here. I sat down and the nail technician did a great job cutting and shaping my nails. Before she started to paint, she asked if I was ok with shape which was appreciated, not many salons do this. The tools are clean and they give you the nail file and buffer when you are done so they don't reuse on other customers. They also give tea when you are getting nails done, a pretty big list of teas to choose from and it's loose leaf so you can see them brew it in the corner. Mint chamomile was good. They also give you cookies. Nail polish selection: huge! A great assortment of colors. Location: in a weird building on the 3rd floor. Since this area is very touristy, I'd highly recommend visiting here if you are out of town and need to get nails done. Read Less

I'm visiting the city for the weekend, and decided to treat myself a manicure. I found the location easily and was given a beautiful manicure by Nu. First of all they offer you a selection of complementary hot tea and serve it with a cookie. I was offered water and then more tea during my appointment. Just came back from a pedicure over my lunch break. The staff are super friendly, but still let me read my book undisturbed. The ambiance is very relaxing with soft music & hot tea. I saw Ten Zen on a Gilt City deal for a mani pedi and decided I would use it for my birthday.  Ten Zen is easily missed on Powell, so look out for the sign.  Upon check in I was asked if I would like tea or water.  They also had a good size tea menu.  I opted for the vanilla tea and it was served with an almond cookie at my station.  They had a large wall of colors from OPI, Essie, and Formula X.  I almost fell asleep while my toes were getting worked on & with the neck warmer around my neck and the calming music.  They also had nice relaxing reclining chairs.  The decor was mod with cute sayings on the wall.  My nail technician was very detailed and meticulous, double checking her work and getting close to the cuticle to make sure the polish wouldn't lift.  She was also very considerate with asking me if I would like to take off my rings before she put lotion on my hands.  The lotion left my skin so moisturized.  I did get a deal for it, but it is well worth the regular price tag.  My mani was perfect for a couple days, as I am so hard on my hands and clumsy, I was surprised it even was perfect for more than a day.  It's about a week and a half now and it's only be chipping at the white part of my nails.  The pedi looks brand spanking new still.  What's also important is that they are super clean!  Clean studio, they use disposable liners on the foot baths, clean tools, and they give you the nail file and buffer to bring home.  In addition to all the pros, I was NOT treated like a second class citizen for having a deal voucher.  Please note to allow enough time to have your nails dry.  I thought the given quote times in the email included drying time but it did not. Ten Zen offers a range of services from nails, lash extensions, facials, and makeup services.  It is truly a relaxing zen haven in the noisy hustle and bustle of downtown.  I will be back! Read Less

I am the newest fan of this place! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome and serene. I was led to the area for my treatment and offered tea from a menu of selections. It even came with a cookie! The receptionist took my jacket to hang for me too! Top notch customer service. I had Mai, who was phenomenal. Very gentle and thorough. She even gave me my nail file to take home so I could touch up my pedi. I've never seen that before! And after the pedi is done, the chairs recline so you can truly relax. Ahhhhh.
