My NEW go to neighborhood spot after several bad experiences at another place nearby. Walked in around noon, was started right away, got a mani and pedi was finished in 35 mins. One person on hands, one on feet, $27 for both because they run a special midday. Both my mani and pedi look perfect. So happy I found this place! Mani-Pedi is my go-to spot for nail services in the neighborhood!The ambience is very nice. It is an airy, light-filled space in a pretty part of the Mission. They have a good amount of chairs and usually have enough technicians working that the wait times are fairly short even when walking in. Making an appointment doesn't make much difference; when I've done this I've waited about the same amount of time. The standard manicure and pedicure are both pretty low-frills, but usually don't chip quickly and are done with a high level of attention to detail. They are also reasonably priced for SF at $12 (for a mani) and $30 (for a mani pedi). My favorite service is the gel manicure which is also reasonably priced at $25 and performed with the same level of quality. They also have a good selection of regular and gel polishes. Read Less

AMAZING! Clean, cute and not too pricey! Fill-In: The best acrylic fill in I've had since the 2 years I've lived in SF! He takes his time, very precise and doesn't cake the acrylic on (which I hate!). They fit my natural nail bed perfectly! Pedicure: Gentle, clean and precise as well! I usually walk out not liking the shape or seeing something that just looks off (polish, shape, cuticle) BUT not here! They do a perfect pedicure for a nice price. I give them 5 whole stars!! This is my go-to place for nails, I won't go anywhere else. The ladies are lovely and friendly. Huge range of colors at great prices. I go in for a gel mani, gel pedi once a month. They do such a good job that my nails last about 3 weeks before they start to wear - and I can get one more week out of them then. I especially love that they will help you out with in between issues - once, a week after getting my gels done I bashed my finger and needed one nail re-done. This review is for my technician.  This is my first time at Mani-Pedi, and having just moved to the neighborhood I was hoping to find my new regular salon.  I came in for a gel manicure and I was seated right away, so they get a star for that.  All the other employees seemed nice and pleasant enough, but the man that worked on my nails left much to be desired. To start, it was one of those rare sweaty 80 degree days in SF and he didn't bother to offer me water.  I'm not asking for anything fancy, but the water fountain was literally right next to him.  Every other salon I go to at least offers water, tea....sometimes even mimosas (!!) so it's not crazy to ask clients if they'd like some water on a sweltering day.  Luckily a nice coworker came by and offered me some when she saw I didn't have any.He hurt me multiple times, first jabbing the metal stick under my nail to the point I had to pull my hand away, filed one of my nails down to the fingertip without realizing he was filing (and burning) my actual finger, and did a sloppy job shaping my nails.  I had to ask him to fix several of them before he applied gels because they looked terrible and I could have done a better job myself.Then, about halfway through my manicure he stopped to retrieve a tip from another customer, had a brief conversation and stuck his finger in his ear before continuing to touch my hands again.  Rude and also, really gross.  He had an attitude the entire time and was not friendly at all, so no points there for personality. Still, I did not complain.  He did a good enough job on my gels and I got up to pay.  Now, I'm a generous tipper all around. Even with all of this, I still gave him a decent cash tip...way more than he deserved.  He would have gotten a lot more out of me if he hadn't done all of the things mentioned above.  And what did he do? He didn't even wait until I left the counter, he just came up and grabbed the cash, looked at how much I left him, turned to me and scowled.  Are you serious guy?? You must have forgotten that tipping is *optional* and is based on the quality of service/lack of service you provide.   That was enough for me to leave a review.  Not cool. Awful and RUDE customer service. I'm not sure if the person I had was being prejudiced but I paid for a full gel manicure and it did not include a massage or treatment. She even refused to cut my nails to my preference and seriously mean about it. RUDE. I've never had worse treatment. They run quite the operation here! Seemingly endless amount of nail technicians in the sweet place with not a hint of smell. Really nice facility with rose petals in your foot water, comfortable massage chairs, and nonalcoholic beverage service while you get pampered! They have a huge selection of colors and do a really nice job with application. The reason for this 4 rather than 5 star review for me is because they completely neglect your calluses! A lot of local nail salons were closed or not picking up their phones on 4th of July. Came across this one on yelp and decided to give them a call! Made a reservation for 2 at 1230 but ended up going an hour early. The ladies were very kind. Small place, but it was super relaxing and they even offered orange infused water! Mani pedi was 27$, which is a STEAL given that my nail lady, Vy, put in great quality work on them! I NEVER get mani pedi, just shellac or acrylic. But she did sucha great job with mine, I'm so comfortable getting another one from here again. Their pedicure baths had rose petals and lemon slices, which all in all, just looked really appealing. Was visiting the city and my auntie and I got to walk into this nail salon. We couldn't be more delighted and satisfied with the manicure set provided by one of the nail techs at the place.Susan, lady on the right, painted my aunt's nails with decent curvy lines and topped off with a couple of nice looking tiny flowers. Everything just seems right and her specific skills met our needs. Service was quick and professional. We'd be happy to come back when we are in town and will ask for Susan again. The shop was busy in peak hours but we arrived during off-peak and the line was only one or two people. Very clean and cozy place. 5-star experience overall. Definitely a must-go nail salon. Great deal on Mani Pedis, I made a reservation for 4 people, increased it to 5 at the last minute and they were able to accommodate. It's a smaller place- but very clean! They add flowers to your pedicure water! I got a gel manicure which lasted fairly long- some nails stayed longer than others. Read Less

I went here a couple of days ago to get chrome nails done. The technician did incredible job. She took a ton of care in making sure my nails were fully cleaned,buffed, and prepped before she applied the polish. I am definitely coming back and requesting the same technician. I wish I had gotten her name. It was 45 dollars for gel chrome nails which less expensive than the other place I went to in SF. Read Less

I came to Mani-Pedi when I was going on a early afternoon walk in the city. They have a large poster advertisement for happy hour mani-pedis $27! Can't beat that. I walked right in and I waited about 20 mins for my mani-pedi. They have refreshments available while you wait (water, tea, sofa, chips, candy). They have a large selection of nail polish to choose from from dark to neon to neutrals. My mani-pedi was pretty standard, you get what you pay for I guess. I asked for short nails and my manicurist accidentally cut me with the nail filer. :/But other than that, it was pretty good. It was probably about an hour of pampering. It's day 5 from my mani-pedi and no chips so far- woo! I would definitely recommend this place for someone who is on a budget but needs a "me" day. Read Less

Good manicures at a very affordable price ($12 manicure, $25 gel manicure, $20 pedi, $30 combo). Also, I LOVE the ambiance - nice plushy couches with back massaging built in, very clean, chips/crackers (seem to be a bad idea after/during a mani). The women were fast and efficient - very straight to the point. I wished mine took a little longer on the massaging and warm hand towel part. It would be a 5 star experience with a little bit more attentive service and if the tea weren't served in styrofoam containers.Please bring your tip in cash! Read Less

Was searching for a nail shop that accepted walk ins (and no wait...I was only in SF for a few days and my nails were looking dingy). Luckily I found this place! I went during the week, so it didn't take too long for me to get my nails done, even though it did seem busy.I went in for just a taupe gel manicure and they came out perfect! No bubbles and they lasted for WEEKS. Mind you, I am quite clumsy and careless about my nails, so the fact that they lasted so long was very impressive.Highly recommend if you're in the city! Came here about a week ago with my friend and my experience was just OK. It's a very quaint place, but a very popular one! So popular that we were double booked for our appointment. I don't mind waiting, but it was just a little inconvenient because my friend and I had plans afterwards. Anywho, the interior was cozy and I enjoyed the atmosphere. My manicure session was good, not perfect, but good. My only major complaint was the filing of the nails. I wanted an oval shape, but the manicurist barely filed my nails. She didn't even clip any to even out the shape. All the nails are uneven and not a true oval. The paint job was better; she painted things pretty evenly, even though it felt kind of rushed. I'm sure she was eager to cater to the other guests that were waiting.  Overall, for the cheap price of $12 for a manicure, this place is decent. My friend and I had booked an appointment. We arrived at our appointment time of 6pm to discover that they had accidentally double booked us. That was okay to me. Seeing as how popular they are, and the fact that they had an appointment system on their website, I could look past the double booking. We ended up waiting until 6:30pm, which is pretty standard for any nail salon that is popular, regardless of appointment.REQUEST FOR SOMEONE ELSE IF THEY GIVE YOU THE GUY. He placed his phone in the drawer of the nail station and kept glancing at it while he was clipping my nails. He also picked it up to text back whenever a text message was received. This is very unprofessional. He asked me if I wanted my nails short, and I said yes. Without checking to see if the length was to my liking, he proceeded to cut chunks of my nails! I was left with really short nails, which I do not like. During the little arm massage they give you, he seemed to squeeze harder and harder, as if he wanted to break all my bones. I had handprints after this. During the painting session, he haphazardly painted the base coat, which I know will cause staining especially since I chose a darker color. With the first coat of application, I asked that he cover up the 1/4 of my nails that he missed. He waved off my request and said that it was ok because it was the first layer. Um, no it's NOT ok! The color will not be even if you do not evenly coat each layer! Later on, another lady took over and I could tell he was complaining to her about my request to even out the first layer of color. The lady was much better at the application and much friendlier. However, she was in a rush to attend to the last couple customers as they were near closing at the time. Combined with the guy and lady, I had polish on my skin. I requested that they clean off the excess polish on my skin, and they also rushed through that. This resulted in polish and top coat sticking on my skin, which meant the polish began to lift off a couple hours later. I had to go home and apply my own top coat, as well as clean the excess polish to prevent further chipping. This place is only popular because it seems to be the only cheaper salon around this area. The 1 star is for the lady's great customer service, as she was always checking up on us and apologizing for the wait. A manicure that does not even last 1 day and did not make me feel pampered and relaxed? I will be taking my business elsewhere. Read Less

I got the most meticulous gel manicure from Beverly. I was very impressed by her attention to detail and concern for shaping my nails to my preference. She tried THREE different black polishes before settling on one because I specifically asked for a true, opaque black and she wanted to make sure I was satisfied. Excellent nail salon in town. My technician really care about overall of my nail health and beauty. She always gives me the best advice what service will fit best for my nails.
