I was extremely disappointed with Oceanview Nails. I came in with my daughter and another friend and we were all unhappy. They each got a mani/pedi and I just got a pedicure. The entire experience lasted maybe 25 minutes. My daughters polish is already off on almost all her fingers and several of her fingernails also broke.  On her toes, the polish was not smooth at all. My toes are fine but it all went so quickly that I might as well have done it myself. Also, the upselling never stopped. With everything manicurist or pedicurist did, they tried to upsell us. That gets really old. When I went to pay for all three of us and add a tip, I was told I could only tip in cash. Who does this? You are only hurting your employees. I understand you have to pay more when someone uses a credit card but the truth is that most of use credit cards. I didn't have any cash so had to go outside and find an ATM. Ocean View Nails has been my favorite nail salon since moving from LA Cty. to Orange Cty. several years ago. I go to have my nails done at least once a month or more. I love the way the girls do nails and this salon is what I consider "up-scale" with an emphasis on cleanliness and friendliness. I don't just go for the gel manicure or pedicure, but also the massages that I have loved for so long. However.....I went today and was informed that they have been told by the owner to discontinue the massage after receiving a gel manicure. The reason I was given is because the girls have stress & some have pain after giving the massage -but...they always give a massage during the "regular' and less expensive manicure?? After paying almost $70 including tip, I was frustrated as the massage after the gel manicure is usually the main reason I tip the girls, and I regreted this service will no longer be given at S.C. Nails. I will be looking for another nail salon for my monthly relaxation, or, I will start giving myself a gel manicure at home as my friends do. Read Less

I have been a customer of Ocean View Nails for four years. Beginning June 1, the salon has restructured their "menu" and not for the better. The price of a pedicure has increased, but massage time has decreased. There is no longer massage with a gelmanicure. I was told by the owner that he is aligning with "industry standards". I explained that people came to his salon because they were above industry standards. The salon won a gold medal in the Sun Post news, and now he's just getting greedy. I told him his pride would be his downfall. The salon has discontinued its customer loyalty card. When I asked him about what happened to the card, he honestly chuckled and said it was only meant to be a promotional item when the business first opened. Well..I've been going there four years and there are lots of people who are upset to see the customer loyalty card end. There are plenty of places closer to my house, and up until now, I was happy to make the drive to Ocean View Nails. But after my conversation this morning with the owner, I realize it may be time to find a new place. And I'm honestly sad about that. Got a gel mani/pedi, and I am not impressed. I paid $87, the massage chair was never turned on (nor offered to be turned on) the lady who did my manicure didn't ask me if I wanted my nails cut (or filed), she decided to cut them on her own. All in all it was 40 minutes between the time I walked in and the time I walked out. Usually I am helped to put my shoes back on, (a nice touch) I had to fish my shoes out from under the pedicure chair myself. Lastly, no excuse for a bad attitude from both women who helped me. The nail technicians were super friendly and conversational and we were able to communicate perfectly. They seemed to put extra care into my and my sister's nails and really make sure everything was perfect. I hope I just had a weird Experience. I was paired with a woman who kept yawning and didn't listen to what I was asking her to do. Then when it was time for my nails to dry, she said she'd be right back. She never came back, I put on my own flip flops and didn't leave a tip (*which I've never done) .. but she wasn't there! ... Everyone else seemed upbeat and friendly. I was sad my first experience here was with someone who could care less. Read Less
