LUDI!  I have been seeing her for a year now and she took my horribly bleached out, unhealthy and difficult to work with pixie cut and transformed me!  A more natural color with amazing color depth and highlights and her pixie cuts are AMAZING!  I feel like she is my personal stylist that is completely vested in me and her energy and warmth are so genuine.  I suspect all her clients feel this way!  If you are looking for a new stylist... you can't go wrong!  You may have to wait awhile to get in to see her but LUDI IS WORTH IT! I was here awhile ago for a keratin treatment. Was told the treatment will last 3-6 month, but it only last a week! I listened and washed my hair 3 days after the treatment, by the 2nd wash my hair went back to how it was before. When the stylist blowing dry my hair, she has the blow dryer so close to my scalp and burned me, I told her it's kind hot but she wasn't really paying attention. When I read about Colour bar and they are big on head massage during hair wash, but my wash is like nah...It was my first keratin experience and I dislike it. Read Less

Liz is the bomb! I hate to have short hair but alas my hair was damaged and it needed to be cut so it can look healthier. Liz listened to my concerns about short hair and took 15 minutes to discuss my hair needs and wants. We looked at pictures together and she did wonders! I have never fell in LOVE with a haircut before but she did an amazing job. I later went back to make another appointment for coloring and no surprise, I loved my highlights. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best I've felt about my hair in... probably ever. This was my first official salon visit, and I'm so happy I chose The Colour Bar! Gabby did my hair, and it looks and feels phenomenal still! (I got it done on Saturday)I definitely knew I needed a change and I came in with long, shapeless hair, and the fringe I had going was not doing me any favors. I was a little intimidated at first because I don't know salon visits like this one to be regular for me. (That's definitely going to change!) I was greeted in and the people were very welcoming, Gabby was kind in the way she spoke to me and in the whole service, she really cares about her clients and it shows in her work! I went in for a consultation because I felt like I wanted her to talk with me and point me in the right direction in terms of what would look good with what I had in hair length, color, cut and style, and she delivered! She gave me a long bob and wispy bangs that frame my face really well! Liz at The Color Bar gave me the most beautiful color and cut I have ever had. During my initial consultation (which I didn't realize how key those are) she took my skin coloring, hair condition, shape of my face, and my age (I'm over 55) into consideration. As we looked at pictures I brought in, we discussed the perfect color and style for me. My experience at Colour Bar was the best. The Colour Bar provided excellent service and makes you feel pampered. They offer water, tea, and wine to you. There is a bowl of candy in the front table. You have to book a 15 minute consultation to discuss with a hairstylist what you want to be done with your hair. It may be a bit inconvenient but it is worth it. It very important to be able to communicate what you want and make sure your hairstylist understands you. Liz, my hairstylist, was the best. Liz was very attentive and listened to me talk about what I wanted to do with my hair. It takes me awhile to warm up to people and I found it easy to talk to Liz. Liz went above and beyond for me. She answered all my question in details, taught me a ways to maintain my hair, and had great product recommendation. My hairstyle was beautiful and I loved it. I was impressed. Liz is new hairstylist of the Colour Bar and she is amazing. I will definitely come back for her. Great pricing for a hairstyle that you will love. This salon is A! MAZ! ING! I took my girlfriend here for a Valentine's Day gift, because she has always, always wanted a silver ombre. But if you see in the before picture, she has lvl 2 dark, dark hair. Bleaching dark hair to get to the platinum you need for the grey color can be so damaging, and I started my journey here by shooting an email to them asking them.. probably a couple more questions than needed. It was pretty wordy, maybe a little annoying. But my girlfriend holds so much of her confidence in her hair that if anything went wrong in the bleaching/dyeing process, it'd be a disaster. So first off? Wonderful, quick response to my email. Answered all of my concerns and then some, and then they set us up for a consultation. At the consultation, we met Katie, who is the person who made Kelley's hair dream come true! She told us we'd dye the hair by sessions to keep her hair strong and healthy, and that she'd walk out with her goal in a couple months. First session is the blonde you see, second session is the lavender blonde you see, and third session is the end result! A beautiful gunmental grey that she is obsessed with!! Katie was such an amazing, chill person. She did wonders with Kelley's hair! And the whole time we were there, the team gave EXCELLENT! A+ service. Some of the best service I have ever received! The owner and staff know their business. I came in with a very specific request, to have my white goatee died from a light blue to a dark blue. Not only did they accomplish this perfectly but they even put a light purple shampoo to my White hair which caused my hair to have a nice silvery fox like sheen. Cassie at the midtown location is absolutely wonderful! She was very sweet and funny, but she also focused in and gave my hair the attention it needed. I went from shoulder length hair to a pixie cut, and she did a fabulous job. I brought a couple of reference pictures in, and as she was cutting my hair she stopped at a couple of different points to check in about the length and to make sure I liked where it was going. I am so glad that she did, because she left it a little b...it longer and I love it even more than the reference pictures. She was great at communicating with me while in the chair, she asked a lot of questions to make sure she knew what I wanted, and she made me look and feel fantastic. I'm from the bay area and was passing through town, but I may have to find more excuses to head up to Sacramento so that I can visit again. I lived in Sac for a year as an exchange student from Australia at Sac state. I was recommended to the colour bar by a mate and had Sumin each time. She's amazing! The only times I've ever come out of a hair dresser happy with my hair and feeling a million bucks was when Sumin did my hair. I have been going to Sue for my haircuts for almost two years now and I can't imagine going to anyone else! I really appreciate the time Sue spends on teaching me different things that I can do with my hair after she has cut it. Great location, everyone is super friendly from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you walk you. Sue has always been on time except for one time when I received a call informing me she was running a half hour late, which I really appreciated the communication because I was running behind too so it all worked out.
