I had a bogo deal. Buy one get one half off and ordered 2 small teas with no toppings that turned out to be $8. That's crazy. So a large is $6 that's only for tea with no real fruits or not worth it. Although the orange green tea did taste good. I taste bits of pulp but it was all liquid and no fruit slices. I used to enjoy this place a lot, but I think their quality has gone down quite and prices has went up too much.  For a large mixed fruit green tea without any add on would cost you more than $6 now. They used to put fresh fruit bits in the drink but they don't put anymore. The tea also tasted bitter with little fruit flavor. While Tea Bar is located in Yes Plaza aka worst plaza for parking ever, the boba makes it worth. My go-to is usually passionfruit green tea with less ice. I'd say that their tea is average, but I like that they don't add too much sugar to it. A lot of tea spots add way too much sugar that it doesn't even taste like tea anymore! Tried out this store due to Ubereats. Was pretty impressed by their rice bentos, but I had also ordered their mini fried tofu in hot. And yes, I understand hot is hot, but I eat pretty spicy stuff and this was just stupid. The tofu came as if it was just drowned in spicy powder. It wasn't even edible. I called the store to tell them of this and they told me they could give me another order of the fried tofu free of charge. So I go into the store and let them know what they had told me through the phone... the manager, I'm assuming, comes out and tells me that their boss told them they can't give a free order, that they can only give me $3 off my order. My friend introduced me to this place recently. I read they had special "crystal boba" and my friend said their popcorn chicken is pretty legit. It was my husband and baby's first time going to the yes plaza. The outside of the building for tea bar was super cute but when I got in, I was kind of surprised at how dumpy it was. Another downfall was that they only take cash. I was able to use to ATM located right in front of the store but could not evade the $3 charge per transaction. blah!On to the better news...my husband ordered a strawberry/banana slush and I got the rose milk tea with crystal boba. We also ordered 3 popcorn chickens with a couple sides of rice. The large size of drinks is nice and I really loved the hard plastic cup it came in. The crystal boba was yummy. To be honest, if I was blind and could not see the color, I wouldn't have known there was much of a difference between the two bobas. It was good nonetheless.Popcorn chicken was seriously the most delicious and close to Taiwan I have had. The texture of the coating on the chicken was perfect, not too thick like other places and not too thin. The chicken meat though not all white was very juicy. The flavoring was just right. Our group decided to come here before heading to Round 1. Great boba shop for real fruit drinks! I'm not sure if all the fruity drinks have real fruit, but I tried the watermelon green tea, and that had real watermelon. I was scared that the drink would be overly sweet so I asked for 75% sweet. It was very lightly sweet, I wish I had gone with the 100% sweetness. It was still very good and very refreshing. My large size was gone so fast. My boyfriend had the mango green tea. And the guy at the register didn't seem like he knew what he was doing since he was just standing there. There were more drinks that needed to be made but he literally did nothing. Great place for fruity teas! They use FRESH FRUIT in all their fruit drinks, so since fruits are seasonal their drinks will also vary depending on the time of year! Go during the summer (since a lot of fruits are in season & sweet)!! Tip: during the winter order their milk teas instead because the fruit may or may not be sweet, so the drink may not be as good. Their drinks are on the more expensive side but it's worth it since they use fresh fruit. I like the balance of their drinks and you get just enough of the tea flavor. This place is located in the corner of the plaza; it is very hidden. Tea Bar shares a mini food court with No. 1 Noodle house. Parking could be hard to find during the weekends and the parking spots are very compact. When I got here, I was greeted right away. It was my first time here so I really didn't know what to get. The server was really helpful in suggesting some of the more popular drinks. I ended up getting a milk tea. The ice to milk tea ratio was overwhelming. It was okay; kind of too sweet for me. By far the best boba tea place in the area. The best part is that they make their fruit teas with real fruit and that's really rare. Honestly, I've never been to another tea place that does that. The workers here are also very nice; it's a really friendly atmosphere, almost like your local Cheers. A lot of regulars come here, definitely a place to make friends.I would recommend the orange green tea and that's probably their most popular drink but honestly you can't go wrong with any of their drinks here. Would I come back? Probably not... I remember the drinks here being a lot better than they are now. Don't get me wrong, they are not bad. However, their mixed fruit green tea does not have any fruit in it, like it did before. I remember before their mixed fruit tea was filled up half way with fruit. When I came in today, the only fruit that was inside were two tiny pieces of apple, strawberry and a slice of orange. For a large fruit tea they charged almost $7. This is located in the corner of the plaza next to Phoenix. Parking is a little bit hard to find when you come on the weekend. They redid the parking lines which made more spots but they are so close together that you should definitely be careful where you park since some people might just door ding you. Anyways I usually come here for boba because it tastes the most authentic to me. I really love their popcorn chicken and chicken steak. The way they deep fry it is amazing. I love the flavor. I usually get mild because I can't handle more than that but I always get a side of the spicy powder just in case I want more spicy. The cool thing about this place is that they have an outdoor seating area where they usually project sporting events on the walls. It is a really cool place to chill and hang out with friends. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review for Tea Bar, but here it goes!With any tea bar, you HAVE to get their watermelon green tea (large of course). I used to think this drink was only available at the Arcadia Tea Bar Starry, but was super happy to find it at this one (Jungle). Fresh blended watermelon with green tea. I always order my tea half sugar everywhere else, but their green tea here normally isn't too sweet, so I don't make any adjustments. Every now and then it's too sweet, but not a big deal when you mix in the watermelon. Perfect drink for the summer when watermelon is in season.When watermelon isn't in season, I typically just go for any one of their other fruity teas, especially peach. The watermelon green tea is bomb in the summer, super refreshing. But the main reason i go here is for their popcorn chicken. I think it's one of the best around imo, and when you ask for extra spicy they deliver! I hate when i ask for extra spicy at some places and it has about the same amount of spice/kick as a potato. I need that spice to kick me in the face, but that's just me. I've also had popcorn chicken that has had a bit of sweetness to it and i'm not into that either, tea bar's is 100% savory :) popcorn chicken is about $5 and some change so i'd say $6, and they only take cash which is always a bummer cause i never have cash, but they have one of those generic ATMs inside if you need it. I gotta say that they consistently bring out excellent tasting teas, fruit blends, and even decent snacks. Drinks: 5/5- Tea Bar uses fresh brewed teas and their accents (like rose tea) enhance the flavor of the drink itself. You can tell they use fresh/real fruit in their drinks both by the texture and taste (none of that powder junk you find at the majority of the tea/boba shops.) Boba here is soft and just chewy enough, and their grass jelly is solid as well.  I really like my teas brewed, non-powdered, and strong; Tea Bar does a great job at that (Great oolong tea), meaning I can go 1/4-1/2 sugar and still get a good taste out of their drinks. You really don't need the sugar given how fresh everything is.Overall, a solid, fresh option with reasonable prices. Fresh brew teas settle much better in the stomach and you don't feel too sick from the sweetness after (assuming you cut the sugar.) The only thing to prepare for is a strong smell that comes from their snacks. Otherwise, the place is excellent for your boba/tea needs.Note on preferences: I love tea and like the taste of real tea, dislike powders and syrups. Read Less

Best tea/boba place ever! The tea is so fresh tasting, and the boba balls are so soft and are freshly made. Along with that, the cups they use aren't a flimsy plastic but rather a thicker type. This location in Rowland Heights absolutely has a Grapefruit Green Tea that definitely became my favorite! I tried the grapefruit green tea at the location in Cerritos and it sucked! Tonight I added aloe vera and aiyu jelly which was the perfect combination to my drink. You could definitely see and taste the pulp of the fruit that was floating inside of my drink! The flavor of grapefruit was not over bearing nor was the green tea! You could also taste the green tea but was sweetened that went well. The cups has been upgraded as well to a better plastic quality! The service tonight was not so "WOW" in which few of the females need to smile more and not looked so bothered with something. Watermelon Green Tea with FRESH REAL WATERMELON. So good. This was my first time here and my friend recommended the Watermelon Green Tea since they use real watermelon. I don't think all their drinks use fresh fruits, so this is a special one. It's not too sweet and the mix of watermelon and green tea actually works really well. I also got it with Crystal Boba - which is basically just white/clear colored boba that's a little bit firmer than regular boba. I don't know if mine was a little weird because the inside of the boba was so firm it almost felt like rubber. I prefer regular boba, but I tried it just to try it. The Watermelon Green Tea is $3.95 and the boba was an extra $0.50. Also, the cashier didn't ask me what size I wanted and I didn't specify so he just charged me for a large - which is an extra $0.75. I wasn't really happy about this since my drink came out to be $5.66, but thankfully it tasted really good so I didn't mind too much. I'm sure if I asked to change it, they would have taken care of it for me since my friends had problems ordering too and the cashier accommodated for them.Note: CASH ONLYAlso, if you go at night and hang out right outside, there's a bunch of people smoking which is annoying if you don't like that smell. Usually, I like coming here for the rose milk tea since they use legit rose tea. For the past few experiences, however, I've noticed there's a lack of cleanliness, friendliness, and poor teamwork among the workers. Cleanliness - we came in at a slow time and there were 4-5 tables that weren't clean... The cashier/worker had enough time to run around and just wipe tables down, but he was too busy watching the girl make drinks.Friendliness - the workers looked super irritable and didn't say hello at all... In fact, I didn't feel welcomed. He looked irritable and miserable like he didn't want to be there.Poor Teamwork - again, I watched one worker make drinks and the guy just ogle at her the whole time. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 - 20/100After dining at Ichi Ichi for shabu, my bf and I decided to check out Tea Bar next door. We ordered a papaya milk slush and a mango green tea with aloe vera. My papaya milk slush had a yogurt-y aftertaste to it. I'm not sure if that's on purpose or by accident from not cleaning the blender. My bf paid an extra $0.50 for the aloe vera just to find out there's no aloe vera inside his drink.Overall, the drinks aren't horrible, but I would be hesitant to come back for a second time. One of my favorite boba joints near work! Always go for the watermelon green tea and make sure you upgrade to a large! I've tried a few other options, but none can compare. A large is a little on the expensive side ~$5 ea. but if you apply for their 5 star card, they have BOGO once in awhile. Theres no running AC here so don't come on a hot day. My favorites are the watermelon green tea and the grapefruit green tea. Of course, don't forget the crystal boba!! Imagine your ordinary boba, but with a slightly harder, chewier texture. There's a recently revamped common sitting area shared with Honeymee and the noodle store next door. Note to self: Never letting my friends order again. Came here on a Friday night with some friends for some shaved ice. I sat outside in the patio to save our table as they went in to make the order. They told me they ordered the matcha green tea flavor but it's going to take a little longer cause mochi was low in stock. The wait only took 15 mins but the staff don't deliver to your table. My friends didn't disclose that they ordered the large size. When they carried the bowl out, I was thoroughly surprised! It's so much ice! In fact, we were given 7 spoons...but there were only four of us. Needless to say, we did not finish it. But the mochi was chewy and matcha was not bad. There's also a surplus of mung bean and red bean paste which probably were from a can. The shaved ice wasn't bad but I've had better. Watermelon Green Tea.It's the one and only drink I get here because it's that good. And get a large because the regular size just isn't enough. Whether you're trying to cool down from a hot summer day or after eating hotpot, it really hits the spot. Made with freshly juiced watermelons and mixed with green tea; it's sweet, but not too sweet, just that perfect amount, if you know what I mean. Sad to know their prices went up recently, but I understand. Food-wise, their popcorn chicken and sweet potato fries are amazing snacks. Make sure you ask for extra plum powder for the sweet potato fries, adds an extra layer of flavor you won't regret. They revamped the dining area recently, looks really nice, kind of hipster now. Every time I come here they always run out of the crystal boba, but today I was FINALLYYY able to try it!! It's UH-MAZINGG! It's chewy like boba but doesn't turn mushy when it's in your drink for too long. I ordered the Rose Grapefruit Green Tea with easy sugar and the crystal boba really complimented the drink nicely. I thought the drink would be sour because of the Grapefruit but it was a lovely combination with rose.Will definitely come back to try their other drinks and also the yoyonoya. Tea bar is a pretty popular place in Rowland Heights, it's located in the inside of Yes Plaza next to a few other stores that sell a variety of food and desserts. The inside does have seating but I feel like most people sit outside and enjoy the nice sun or a nice night. Depending on what time you show up. This place gets pretty busy and packed so sometimes you might actually have to wait 20 minutes to get your drink order. Bring a friend, relax and try something different. One of the popular drinks to get is grapefruit green tea. You can let them know how much sugar you want in the drink and they'll gladly do it.Cash only business like many other Asian places so don't forget to bring some dollar bills.
