Awesome experience at this salon!  I went to see Lotus Roze Johnson for the first time and she gained a client for life!  I am so pleased with my cut and color.  I needed a new imagine for a career transition I'm going through and she nailed it!  It was like she read my mind and then made it even better.  She asked questions and looked at the images I brought, was warm and welcoming and really listened.  I was a bit nervous as the color was new for me and I was going shorter than I had before.  She had such a natural calming and relate-able way about her I was put at ease right away.  I'm also really tender headed and have bad experiences with cuts and bleach.  She was really gentle, no pulling or pressure (which I'm sensitive to) and didn't use anything with chemically smells, in fact the scents were calming and the head massage in the shampoo bowl was a welcome plus.  I felt really pampered and taken care of the whole time.  I loved the way she did the cut, first wet then dry.  As I was watching her work it was getting better and better and I was super excited. She could have stopped about 20 minutes earlier and I would have been totally pleased, but she went the extra mile and added shape and detail that make the look really polished.  I'm amazed at how good I look right out of bed first thing in the morning.  I just can't say enough about it, I'm obsessed with the color, definitely the best I've ever had, rich and silky and with so much depth.  She really is an amazing artist.Her prices are good and you really get alot for your money.  She also recommend a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to help me take care of it that smells amazing and was available in the saloon for a reasonable price.The salon itself was great too; clean and comfortable with a lovely modern rustic vibe, and a cute little boutique attached.  Lovely things to browse and chic comfy seating.  Everyone there was friendly, professional and attentive.  Love, love, love it!  Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Lotus, you'll walk away feeling amazing! I had my hair cut by Eileen Coppola, and am very disappointed. I have very very short hair and wanted a slight tweek to my cut. I took in a picture and knowing that I could not look just like the picture,  I assumed she at least would  try to help me so that I could eventually get there. Instead, she cut it the way she wanted. I am 64, and still like to play with edgy hairstyles. Instead, I looked like a dowdy old woman.  And the she cared me $45 for the cut.  U will never go to the salon again. Read Less

This review is for Melyssa. My fiance went to another stylist for a hair and makeup trial before our wedding and came out looking like a circus clown. She did a trial with Melyssa and everything turned out much better. Much to my surprise, on our wedding day, she made a few adjustments and my fiance looked even better than after the trial. She got so many compliments on how beautiful she looked on her wedding day! Melyssa also styled my brother's and my hair on the day of the wedding and we looked great too. I went in for a blow out. I was very well taken care of. The girl who did it for me (forgot her name) but she's from Southern California was very good at it. She asked me a lot of questions as to how I wanted it and was very accommodating. Good conversation in the chair. She used R+co products which I happened to know. It's day 2 and my hair looks shiny. As far as price, I saw on the menu $35 but she charged me 40. Not sure why, maybe I missed something? Maybe tax? Oh well... I was happy with the result. Read Less

I came in to get a color correction which involved also doing a color melt and balyage. I got my hair done by Melyssa. I'm literally in shock at how she was able to fix my hair. I felt embarrassed wearing it in certain styles with the way it was before. It was a total nightmare! It was my first time at this salon and I went to see my FAVORITE stylist Ashley Sanders who has been doing this over 10 years! It was super easy to book with her and get a good time slot that fit my schedule. I got a Brazilian blowout, color and a small trim to take off unhealthy hair. My hair is naturally dark brown and I had tried to go as blonde as possible before this appointment, my ombre Ashley had done was BEAUTIFUL but I was ready for my old color back. She picked the perfect dark brown to match my hair and trimmed the unhealthy hair off. After my blowout my hair literally felt like silk through my fingers!! I am beyond happy with the result and it has lasted me over two weeks so far! Her prices are reasonable and she was even able to recommend a nice sulfate free shampoo to help keep the blowout lasting longer and accommodate my special request of a shampoo without silicone. The head massage during the wash and the warm coffee she gave me were also nice perks to this appointment with this experienced stylist. I literally walked out feeling like I was at a spa for the day .. and it was only 11 AM hahaha :)A little about the Salon: It was super bright and airy and has recently undergone a beautiful renovation! I am not reviewing the salon itself, although I really liked the look and feel of it, but the massage I received from Laurie. It was probably the best massage I've ever had and I've had some really great massages in the past. Laurie is super sweet and immediately put me at ease. Her massage room is beautiful, extremely clean, and ultra relaxing. Laurie applied the perfect amount of pressure and focused on the areas I asked her to with amazing results. One of the most horrible experiences I've ever had not to include that this day was a mother daughter day that we had all three of us had our hair done so to be again I just want to say that i had Ivy do my hair highlight and I loved it she's a very nice girl Second of all I just want to say Nikki attempted to do my sisters hair I had made an appointment for my sister with Nikki. We got there showed her the picture we wanted she told us that it would look like that but a li...ttle bit milder so we said OK that's OK then she said you guys have a price in minder we no just want to have this hair done the way the picture so she does OK no problem after we had seen her hair after it was washed it looked exactly the same as when we Came in it may have looked a little more red but it look like it was just as if there was hair dye put on her hair and there was no streaks it wasn't anything like the pictures also I went up to her and I had asked her what was going on and I was like I don't see any highlights and she responded with well it's going to be multiple sessions and it's gonna take more than five hours remind you that my hair appointment was already for four hours that we were there we did not leave till seven so this could've been done then she it was gonna cost more money I had to leave her and have my hair get finished so she had asked my sister if she if she liked it or not my sister felt really bad and she just felt really guilty and she was too shy to say it wasn't what she wanted so she did lie and say it was fine my mom and my sister had left at 7 o'clock mind you that we did get there at 2 o'clock and when we left the door we were all very very disappoint my sister was upset she felt bad that she didn't like it and she didn't say anything I was very upset because I didn't get to express how I was feeling when Nikki had already left so I had texted Nikki on our way home to let her know hey my sister's not happy we didn't get the results that we wanted and if she could fix it or I would like a refund please she responded with well have your sister call me I did not like that because I am the one that made the appointment with you so I was felt obligated to have something done I responded back to Nikki saying no I just need to make an appointment to have my sisters hair redone Nikki responded with I don't do refunds and have your sister call me my sister was very upset she's like I do not want to talk to her she felt a little shy around her so I was trying to take care of it. So all of the overall experience was very disappointing remind you that we did spend a couple hundred dollars in there we also bought clothes in there so we are very just felt like we were scammed with our money mind you my sisters hair was $200 for something that she walked out of the looking almost the same. Unfortunately our experience here was not a good one. We came in for blowouts prior to an important event. 2 of us did not get the scalp massage, shampoo or blowout but we're charged the same as the other people in our group that did. They curled my hair and when it didn't turn out like they wanted, they just put it in an updo sort of style. The other person in our party that didn't get the "works" had the "Sherry" done and her hair went flat within an hour. They said that the problem was our hair, not because we didn't get the shampoo and blowout. After speaking with my regular hair stylist she informed me that you get volume and hold by adding product to the hair after the shampoo and prior to the blow drying process. So, we are extremely disappointed that not only did we pay for a service that we did not receive, our hair did not look like we expected. Definitely will not return to this salon and will not be recommending it to anyone I know. If you do happen to take advantage of this salons services, make sure you demand to get the full service you are paying for! Read Less

I injured my hand, so I'm not able to wash & style my hair on my own for the next week. So I thought I would treat myself & come in for a wash & styling. I asked for loose curls. My hairstylist, who doesn't work here, normally blow dries my hair with a round brush & then takes a curling iron to give it some style. The stylist today used a flat brush when blowing out my hair, which left my hair and roots frizzy. And then took my hair in small sections & curled my hair with a small curling iron. I ended up leaving the salon with frizzy tightly curled hair. I had to come home & restyle my hair on my own with one hand. It really defeats the purpose of paying $40 for someone to style my hair because I'm injured, only to have to come home and try my best to fix it. Happy with Janeth!A beauty salon is the last place I would check in as I don't really pamper myself too often nor do I have the time to do so. The upkeep can be expensive. Maybe that's why I don't have the Glamorama badge... I have yet to earn it. Actually, a deal from LivingSocial came up and I purchased it for my daughter, who wanted to color her hair. We arrived at our scheduled appointment and met with Janeth (pronounced Yaneth). While I was waiting for Janeth to work on daughter's hair she talked me into getting a color too! I was hesitant but she gave me a deal since I was already there at the salon and my daughter was her last appt. This was my first time here and Janeth did a great job for us. We had the works... color, cut, conditioning and style. She's very friendly and great conversationalist. Setting up an appointment was no hassle. I left a message for her and she returned my call right away. Corina, fellow Yelper, was just recently here too and Janeth did a beautiful job on her hair. In fact, that is Corina on the check-in profile photo for Lavender Salon. Looks like I found a place and a stylist to go to from now on (even though I only go twice a year for a cut or trim. :-]The salon is very clean and welcoming and it is located in a nice area in Rocklin on Stanford Ranch Road. This place does almost everything. They have aestheticians on site also. Most of these professionals work by appointment only and I'm not really sure if someone is onsite all the time to accommodate walk-ins.
