This was the 2nd time I went to Kristina's for a gel pedicure, everything was great the first time, but when I came in the second time was not good. I had an appt, got there 5 min early to choose my color. So Kristina then said I was 5 min early and that she was prepping the chair for me, she then tells me to sit down and take off my shoes (she had stopped the water already). I thengo to the chair and put my feet in the water because she never told me not to put them in, she then comes back from the room and starts yelling at me saying "I told you not to put your feet in the water, you don't listen to me" I didn't know it was such a big a deal and I had told her she never told me not to put my feet in the water so then she continued on saying "I don't listen to her". I payed for the pedicure even though the color was ugly and my edges were done very sloppy (she didn't bring the gel polish all the way down to my nail or my edges) Definitely was my last time going there. I've been using Kristina's Nail Spa since they moved to Point Richmond. Up until recently, I mainly had Kathy do my pedicure (that's the main service I use there). I have loved the shop's ambiance, the relaxing music, and, until Kathy left, the wonderful pedicures and leg/feet massages I've received. However, the quality has deteriorated and I've been dissatisfied the last few times I've gone there, today especially. The woman (not the owner) who does most of the pedicures is careless and rough. Some of the polish on my nails is marred and she didn't smooth out nail's edges. She spent about 2 mins on massaging my calves. That was it! I won't be back. Read Less

My favorite nail salon. They always do a wonderful job and I always come here for all my nail needs. They're very sweet and the salon itself is always very clean, and the massage chairs are a nice touch. I feel lucky that this place is in Point Richmond. Read Less

Very racist, I am puertorican and colombian walked in to get a manicure she said she couldn't do a manicure, I asked if the other 2 girls could and they looked at each other and Said something about mexico and started laughing then told me no manicure sorry. As I was walking out an asian girl walked in and asked for a manicure and pedicure, they asked her to have a sit. Just horrible customer service. If you are not asian do not go to this place. One week later what a bad job. I should have known she did my nails less  than 10 minutes. I explained to her that my nails don't look good. She tried to explain that she has been doing this for long time.  Besides that she talked about the woman who had just got her nails done by her . Kristina gives the best neck massages, and she now knows this is what I'm really after and always seems to go overboard with it. I love it! It's not a fancy place, but it's clean and simple, and she's always got soothing music on. Everyone who comes in and out the door seems to be a personal friend of Kristina's. On top of that, prices are very reasonable, especially for the Bay Area! I'm so glad they're in my neighborhood! Read Less

I've frequented this shop since she moved into Point Richmond. Before this shop I was a Nail Shop goer (Emeryville and before that the one on Grand Ave. in Oakland). You will pay more money for a mani pedi at Kristina's, but you also get more:1) it's clean here and the tools they use are clean2) super quiet and relaxing3) you can make an appointment and not have to wait4) because it's Kristina and one other technician, there are never more than 4 people in the shop at once.Some of what the negative reviews say is somewhat true. Her nail painting is not the best. And this is not the place to come if you want designs or a lot of fancied up acrylics. I've always had good work done on my nails. And the shellac lasts for two weeks on me-- and I have two small children (therefore hand washing like a maniac, give them baths every day) and hand wash dishes at least once a day-- and the polish still lasts. I come here from time to time when I am in town visiting my grandmother. Kristina and her staff have always done a good job but on 7/23/16 when I went into the shop, I had the WORST nail shop experience I have ever had anywhere. Note, she recognized me and said hello and was very nice to me when I walked in but everything after this was WAY DOWN HILL.I brought my aunt along for a pedicure and shellac manicure. My aunt asked about callous remover and we were told they don't do that. The pedicures were mediocre - both my aunt and I were surprised that they put the paint on our toe nails before doing the foot and leg massage... this meant that they were hovering over to make sure not to mess up our nails so the massage part was awkward. Don't get me started on the fact that because there was now paint on my nails the lotion was never applied to my toes AT ALL... what kind of pedicure leaves your toes all dry!?!?! Next, Kristina did my shellac manicure. Every color I asked for she didn't have. I asked if she could do a design, she said no, she doesn't do designs on shellac. She rushed through my shellac manicure, never did a massage or put any lotion on me, had me sitting under the UV light for excessive amounts of time because she was on the phone and NOT paying attention (even though she has a sign saying for patrons to not talk on the phone because its inconsiderate to other guests). At the end of the manicure, I asked her if she could fix some parts of the shellac because she had done a very poor job (poor job meaning the shellac was not all the way on the nail, everyone who gets shellac knows that this will cause the shellac to lift in a matter of days. The edges were all sloppy. To be honest, it looked like I had painted my own nails with my left hand... and I'm a righty!). Kristina flipped out and began raising her voice at me and telling me that this was the best she could do and that she knew people like us and that we always want something for free and that nothing is free. I told her that she was a professional nail technician and if this was the best she could do that was very surprising considering she's never done my nails like this before. She continued to raise her voice and yelled that we could pay for the pedicures and get out of her store. She yelled that we could write whatever we want on yelp (i never mentioned writing a review), she told us to just pay and get out and then we can call the cops or do whatever we want. Mind you, all of these things she was saying were unprovoked. The entire time, my aunt and I sat there shocked and confused at how and why she got so upset. My aunt then calmly pointed out to her that she had been on the phone the entire time despite her signage about patrons not being on the phone and that perhaps she was distracted. Kristina then began to cry and told us that we didn't understand and that she had an emergency and that we were bad people. There was no indication at all that her call was an emergency. If it was, she could've asked her staff member to finish up the job, she wasn't worried, panicked, crying, upset, or anything. Not until I asked her to please fix the terrible nail job she had done. Anyway, feeling bad that I subjected my aunt to this place I went ahead and paid for both of our pedicures. I had to go and get my nails re-done at another shop a few days later because of them being done so poorly. I never want to have an experience like this again! Read Less

This is the worse place ever. The owner Christina does not take her time she is greedy and does everything super fast, I went in for a pedi and a mani and she did both like in 25min. Three stars for the nails, she doesn't clean up the cuticles, or push back the cuticle, or buffer it out before putting gel and tips on, fill was also outrageously priced. Not personal, no emotion, I felt she was in such a big rush too. The tech was so rude, and even started talking bad about my nails in vietnamese, so I spoke back in English to the other nail tech. Apologizing for my topCoat that was hard to get off. They were so shocked that I understood the rude things she was saying about me WHILE DOING my nails! I was so uncomfortable, that I wanted to just leave in the middle of doing it. She obviously was having a bad day, and her attitude reflected it. I still have her an awesome tip, even though she totally didn't deserve it. I will be going somewhere else where I don't pay someone to talk badly about me in another language. Read Less

Such good service and a wonderful soothing atmosphere. Kristina and Kathy were very attentive and did great work. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure. They did massage hot rocks and scrubs.
