I highly do not recommend they are very expensive and just keep adding “ 5 dollars more” for the tiny things. I pay $50 for my nails and a week later a nail fell off on like nothing. I have been in this salon a few times. I always have the feeling that the women working there are victims of human trafficking but I don't have proof. Today, I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure. The girl who worked on my toes did a great job. The woman who worked in my hands did an average job. When I told her that this wasn't what I asked for (nails were uneven and the color didn't match), she called her manager. The manager was rude and painted my nails with some sparking stuff. meanwhile, I saw the face of the girl who did my nails, I saw fear. I said to the manager "It wasn't her fault, it was a case of miscommunication."  Most of the women who work there speak English as their second language. The manager was rude to me and I felt intimidated by the way she looked and spoke to me. It was frightening. The nail technician later came and add moisturizer to my hands. It was a very uncomfortable situation. This happened a few hours ago and I still feel shaken by the whole incident. Please, don't come to this place. Stay away from this place, I went in to wax my eyebrows and not only did they burnt me but one of my eyebrows is missing the middle part! I knew something was wrong when she seemed nervous and kept going back and forth plucking each eyebrow for almost 30 minutes. I asked for a mirror and realized almost both my eye brows were gone! I have tried just about every salon in Redwood City and have determined that Fabulous Nails is by far the best salon in the area.   Staff are friendly and professional.   The salon is clean and comfortable, and they give the best pedicures ever.   I'm especially fond of their silk nail technique.  I met the owner 6 years ago when I first moved here.  She was extremely helpful,  but I like to try out different places.  However,  the fact that I keep coming back to Fabulous Nails has made me realize that there is no place better and I will no longer shop around for any other salon. I've been coming here for years. The service has never been great. Just okay but its the closest and largest salon. They take walk-in's which is what I need due to my schedule I never know when I can sqeeez in a manicure and pedi. However, over the past year it seems the service has gotten worse. There's a couple of ladies that do an ecxellent job. The others are hit and miss and should not be working there or they need to go back and learn how to do manicures again the right way. The last mani with gel was a disaster. I had to tell the lady to add 3 coats to make sure the color was vibrant. Last time she worked on my mani she only applied 2 coats and it was spotty. I didnt notice until I got home and my daughter pointed it out.  Now this last time with the 3 gel coats she did not let the gel set long enough after each coat so now it's lifting after 4 days! This is not the first time. The previous time one of the good manicurist saw my nails and asked where I had them done and she couldn't believe it was there. Even she said it was a poor job. It's an older lady with glasses. Stay away from her. She should not be working on nails. No technique at all even for my simple gel mani. This is the 3rd time in a row they do a crappy job so I have to say good bye and find another place. $30 is pricey to only have to redo every week because of their poor declining service. The owner is not very pleasant either. To the owner - get up and GO CHECK on your employees work before your customers leave to make sure it's quality work. I've never had a bad experience at this salon. I hadn't been for a few years because my daughter is now in the industry. However, with her living out of state for a few more weeks and me having a wedding coming up, I chose to go back. It had been remodeled and it looks very nice. The stations have all been upgraded. Sad to say, I thought this would be my nail salon.  I had visited this salon two weeks ago and had a great experience.  Unfortunately, this time around it was a waste of time and made me very uncomfortable.I have short nails that I keep nice.  I went in to the salon and sat down... as soon as I did the lady started to mock my short nails and proceeded to ask how she would paint them- due to them not being long.  She then had other salon employees come up and mention how short they were.  To be honest I go to a salon for a service not to be mocked by the service providers.  Won't be visiting this establishment again..  what a shame as I just moved out here and looking for a salon.  I Read Less

I've been coming here for several years.  I had stopped coming for a while due to bad experiences: the gel has worn off/chipped and I've felt rushed, but the past few times I've returned, I have had near perfect experiences. Today, I called for a gel manicure and they had an opening right away.  When I arrived, I was taken immediately. Ive been a regular for a while but I am going to seek out a new nail salon. I recently had a pedicure and the lady hurt my big toe by digging into the skin and now a week+ later it still hurts and is causing me anxiety. After having a set of acrylics done at another salon that dos a slap job on me I came into get them off as I was so unhappy with how they looked. Simply Be is not the place to go. The woman who helped me at Fabulous Nails was understanding and was quick to suggest that I keep them on to save my nails. It really sucks to be lied to, I called this place before coming in asking how much they charged for a fill.. I was told $25.00 when Chinh charged me she charged me $35.00 I did not mention anything because I thought maybe I misunderstood the first time. As soon as I left I called and asked again for pricing, she said $25.00 and I repeated TWENTY-FIVE? And she said yes, so why did she charge me $10.00 extra?! Nevermind the fact she cut both pinkys.. Great place for a spa pedicure. The nice new chairs are stationed so you are not stuck awkwardly facing the eyes of a stranger. They kindly offer complimentary beverages. If not offered, just ask! I enjoyed the hot rock massage and exfoliating scrub. I hate it when you go somewhere and the manicurist does it for like one minute and you leave with pretty toes with dinosaur rough feet still. I have to point out to anyone reading, I find it really disrespectful when people take pictures of their manicurist without their permission. How would you like someone snapping pictures of you while you work so they can show off on Social Media? Have some class and at least turn off the sound/flash. I came in here and got an espress mani and pedi today and I really wish I had gone elsewhere. The woman who did it complained that I should get the full service (why offer the service if you're going to complain when a customer gets it?) the reason I wanted the express is because I have been extremely sick lately and didn't want to be out long. She completed the pedicure and then I asked if she could add a design (she complained about this as well, go figure) then started on the manicure. She asked for payment and then when she brought back the receipt for me to sign there was no place for tip, I asked about how to leave tip and she said cash only and to go into the taco place next door to get the tip.  Oooookay so now I get a service fee, whatever. When she "completed" my manicure she said thank you and just walked off lol? The whole situation was strange. I looked down at my hands and they were a mess! I'm going to post a photo of what my nails look like and mind you this was done only a few hours ago! I could've stayed at home and done my own nails and done a better than that! So off I go to the taco place to get tip... Which then tells me I have to order something to use the ATM. I came in on Wednesday to get a fake set of nails for my birthday. About 3 hours after I got them done, TWO of them had already broken WITHOUT any strenuous or aggressive work with my hands. By the second day, two more had broken and paint had started chipping off the of the rest. I paid $43 for my hands and $30 for my feet; at least my pedicure still looks great. I am SO disappointed. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Where do I start! Okay 1st, they do not seem clean at all!! They put garbage bags on pedicure tubs, which looks to me like they are reusing the bags! Even if they weren't, who wants to get a pedicure with your feet in a garbage bag full of water? SECOND, they were so rude! I heard them saying things under their breath about the customers. THIRDLY, They are not gentle at all, working in a hurry for no reason. Also, their prices are insane! And on top of all of this, I came in being told they were ready, and they had me there in a seat waiting for 25 minutes, why lie to a customer??? Also I need to empathize on the rudeness here, and how I suspect that they are not that clean. If someone can recommend a cleaner and friendlier spa, please let me know! Came in on a Friday, out of work feeling tired, I have a wedding to go to so I thought why not. I came in at 7:25pm, not knowing they closed at 7pm, no one said anything. they welcomed me told me to choose a color and put me on those pedi couches. 1hr total was my pedi, I'm not a big vanity kind of person but I thought the young girl did well, she took her time to clean, paint and even tell me if the color was acceptable to go on and paint the rest of my nails. I went to Fabulous Nails for the first time.  Let me just say I was shocked when I got my receipt back!  $52 and my nails chipped within 3 hours.  The sign on the window states $10 for a manicure and $20 for a pedicure  I was charged $22 for a manicure and $30 for a pedicure.  I did have a few knicks from the tool the girl was using and she filed the life out of my toenails.I will never go back to this salon and I will never recommend it.  I will tell my friends to STAY AWAY! $30 for a simple pedicure? Are you kidding me? Just nail polish and a foot scrub and it is $30? Definitely not worth the money, I could have done it at home with my own polish. Worst part is the lady kept messing up. Looked like she had no idea how to paint nails. The lady barley spoke English and what she told me in the beginning sounded like $16 was actually $60. Also you'll never guess what else happened... I was overhearing a lady speaking on the phone to a customer and the customer was furious because she came in early to get her nails done and was supposed to be charged $70..... But instead the salon charged her $700.... Wtf is this. How can you make a mistake like this seriously???!!! Please, please, please, please stay away :/ I've never been so tortured getting my nails done before. I regret coming here at all. They cut me in six of my fingers & burned them with the alcohol. A younger girl was going out of my nails and filed my cuticles until they bleed.. I'm very patient with beginners but after the third cut.. I had to ask for a different manicurist. She seemed like the owner there.. But even she ended up cutting me 3 more times and worse. After two hours of filing. Her & I got frustrated and I decided to just pay and leave. I went in on Sunday for the first time and am never going back.I decided to get stiletto nails, painted white with a simple design on the ring finger. At my usual spot in Santa Clara they charge me about $35, but this spot decided to charge me $53- after adding a whole bunch of extra costs that I didn't even ask for! Also, for a design it was $8 and the trainee she had do the design completely butchered it and after expressing this they STILL charged me for it.Also, she cut me on 3 different nails and kept adding nail polish remover to clean up her mess which hurt so bad.I ended up going home and removing the design and eventually the color. I have had good service at this salon for over ten years. However, for the past three weeks in a row there have been a series of unfortunate events. The shellac on my nails have gotten chips two weeks in a row and that's not supposed to happen. The second time I went in to get a redo, the manicurist asked me what shellac I wanted to replace the faulty one. I showed her and another manicurist told her the number. Then I took a nap. When I woke up she had given me the wrong shellac. When I asked her what happened, she said, "You have to tell me what you want." O my god! I believe the universe is telling me to change salons. Omg! My boyfriend and I came here. My boyfriend wanted to experience why girls love pedis and Pauly D so as a present...I got my mani-pedi and I told him to join me .Lesson learned!!!Only come here if you are a white male! My bf was pampered way more than me...they even offered him multiple beers. I was only offered soda, water, or tea...On top of that I had shellac French mani done...next day they started to bubble and crack. it's shellac! This shouldn't happen! I came back the next day and they were so rude.Lady who did my nails was rushing only talking about how lucky I am I have a white boyfriend...what the hell...I love him for him not his skin tone. On top of that, she is carelessly filing my nails leaving them crooked, she rushed repainting them...she made me keep my hands in uv light way too long where the bottom part of my nail was tender for 2 days, and she cut me while cutting my curticals....On top of all this my nails cracked again 3 days later!!!NEVER GET SHELLAC NAILS DONE HERE OR COME HERE AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE AN ATTRACTIVE YOUNG WHITE MAN!!!!!!!They just lost 2 customers at once.
