I have had my nails done at a few places in Redwood and this is the best by far. I've been to Revival and walked our crying (legit) because they treated me like a monster and others have said the same about their experience (read my review).ANYWAY! Jay painted did my manicure and pedicure on 2 separate occasions and both were fantastic. The callus remover/pumice/de-hooving lol wasn't the best but was really good and compared to all the other shops in Redwood City this was legit the best.Thank you Bamboo for your service :D Read Less

Popped in here on a whim to get out of the heat. My old gel manicure had grown out and started to chip, so I asked for a new one. The first technician came at my nails with a drill, which I immediately refused (they were soak offs!). She seemed mildly annoyed at having to spend the extra time soaking the polish off. A second nail tech shaped my nails and trimmed them, and did an okay job. Had some uneven edges when she was done. A third nail tech applied my gel polish. He stuck my whole hand under the lamp after he applied a coat to a single nail! I suspect they all were overcured. When I went to have them removed at my usual salon, the polish would not come off after 20 minutes of soaking and gently filing surface. When the polish finally came off, I discovered my nails were absurdly damaged. Five fingers had serious peeling and pockmarks, and four others had damage. I have no doubt it was caused by the unorthodox curing of the polish, and I suspect the tech mixed gel brands that are not meant to be used together.I will not be returning. Read Less

Its an okay place to get your nails done but I wont be going back. I git a simple pedicure, no fake nails, just a paint job. However, the quality was not good. Parts of the nail were showing and the Polish wasn't smooth. Plus, the skipped the leg message that comes with a pedicure. Unfortunately they couldn't do the scrub I asked for but instead of doing something else (like a lotion or something) they just don't do anything! It was a total let down especially since it was my birthday, I wanted to be pampered. Its a beautiful salon but unprofessional employees. BEWARE / BEWARE / BEWAREThere are nail salons that see two 13 year-old girls come in for a manicure and pedicure without their parents and recognize they have an opportunity to gain two customers for a very long time by providing quality service. Conversely, Bamboo Nail Spa eyes this scenario as an opportunity to fleece young women who are unlikely to complain or argue about sub-par work or unexpected fees.My daughter and her friend came in there for a manicure and pedicure. They asked for recommendations as the menu is pretty long. The person helping them recommended the most expensive foot treatment and told them the total for everything would be $45, including tip. At the end, they were charged the $45 for the foot treatment and $30 for the manicure. It makes sense that these would be separate charges but it seems they went out of their way to confuse the explanation when they were choosing services. For no explanation, they charged one girl $70 and one $75 for the exact same treatment and then demanded they tip although they were told tip was included. Beside the shady dealings with the bill, it seems they also perform sub-par work for the same reasons I listed above. Although her manicure was fine, the foot treatment for my daughter and her friend was joke. I will spare the details but my daughter needs to repaint her toenails already after a $45 foot treatment.The girls then relayed to me how a friend of theirs was also provided sub-par service when she went there alone but everything was quickly fixed when her mom went in and complained. I guess they learned their lesson: do not patronize this establishment as they see young girls as targets and not valued customers. Read Less
