I made a appt for Friday in the evening to get the dip powder manicure. The nails looked nice when leaving the salon. She told me they would last 2 weeks with good care. ?? I have always done dip and they last generally 3-4 weeks. Also why you pay more for dip than gel, because you want them to last longer than 2 weeks! On Sunday the top coat started peeling off. This is because she did a sloppy job, the top coat was stuck all of my skin. You obviously only want it stuck to your nail or the peeling starts. On Tuesday the top coat is snagging on my clothes hair etc. Thursday my nail broke while opening a canned drink and another while making my bed. I will not go back to this salon, although I really hoped it'd work out because I live so close to it. The color selection for the powder was also very limited. I tried so hard to really like this place. Its clean, close to where I live, some of the ladies are nice. I have experienced the attitude of the girl behind the desk but that is not even my reason for the 2 stars. My reason is every time I go there I get fungus on my nails... every time. Read Less

Mona is a great manicurist!  I went in for a acrylic gel manicure and she showed me this ombré pink and white acrylic option to do.It was similar to manicures I had seen online and liked, so I decided to try it.  I love the result!As for the salon, the staff is polite and it is always clean inside.  Mona also does pretty lash extensions. So, first of all, I *AM* a guy!!  I have been getting my nails done for many years, and love it.  I recently moved, and before I did, my favorite nail salon closed.  Today I figured it was more than time, and yelped nail salons where I was at.  Sorted by distance, and TADA!  Lux Nail Spa came up!  I went in and was told the mani/pedi was $32.  A starting price at best (but I usually have my feet done, etc. on top of a starting price).  The ultimate package was $55, which is where I ended up in my old salon, but here got SO MUCH MORE!I had two of the most wonderful ladies work on me.  First the nails (fantastic job), then scrubs for the soles of my feet, salt/sugar scrub for my legs, warm lotion for my arms/legs, and then let them do a buff/polish to my nails - AMAZING RESULTS!!  I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!  Will definitely be back.  Thanks guys. It's new, and quite beautiful but half of the time I walk out of  there I'm either satisfied, or I'm like "What the heck did you just do to my nails?" Kind of in the middle today. The points of my acrylics are a little uneven and rough though. She only put the acrylic on my real nail instead of putting a little bit of an extension to make them all seem even. I recently moved to the area , and have been trying to find my go to nail salon. I went to two salons and asked for an ombre French.I saw a picture online of it and it looked really beautiful.Both salons told me I would need a full set to get this done. I had finally given up, and just decided to try Mona at lux nail spa based on her fabulous reviews. I sat and asked for plain French and she immediately asked me if I would like an ombré . Had the best experience here. The employees were all very nice and did a great job with my nails. I normally feel very rushed at nail salons, but the environment here was very relaxing, even though they were busy. Their massage game is on point. Never have I received such a wonderful massage from a nail salon before in my life, but their nail work needs a little more effort. I made an appointment here early on in the week. When I got there, they didn't have my name in their book. The person who picked up the phone had told me that this time was available, but apparently forgot to write it down. They still seated me right away which was great since it was busy.I got a pedicure and a regular manicure. Nothing fancy. Since they were busy, they had two people work on me at once. I didn't mind that either. The woman who did my feet was fine. She painted my toes ok. I saw nothing wrong with her work or her massage. However the woman who did my manicure did a poor job with the polishing. The polish was applied too thick so you can tell it wouldn't dry on time. There was so polish on the sides of my fingers as well. I was not happy, but I was in a rush and she did give me a wonderful massage. More detail about the massage. She applied lotion all over my shoulders, then onto my arms and hands. She massaged my shoulders with deep pressure and maybe even her shoulders. To get further down my back, she stretched out her arm to have my head rest forward on it while she deeply massage the back of my neck. She did that to both sides. I was completely amazed. Pros: Great location in Redondo Beach, parking is usually available, I almost always can walk in to get a manicure or pedicure without much wait (unless it's prime time on the weekend!), the staff are friendly, and the pricing is pretty darn good!Cons: I question the cleanliness of the tools-- the ladies have boxes where they keep the tools and sponges and it seems like they reuse them without cleaning. The foot tubs are always covered with new plastic, so it's clean in that sense. Also, last time the woman who did my toes seemed to quickly file and shape my toes, but she did a poor job. I had to point out a jagged nail 2 times and even after she tried to fix it, I still wasn't satisfied!Overall, an okay place for a mani pedi, especially if you want some thing cheap!Pro Tips: You can get great nails with just a "color change" for only $8, without going through the entire mani/pedi process if you don't want the full scrub/ massage treatment. Wow this is the best nail spa. I am from Australia & the pedicure & manicure was the best I've ever had, better than the ones I receive in Australia. The staff are friendly, funny, professional, courteous & make you feel special. The treatment I received made me feel like I was in heaven. I highly recommend this business.
