I had the worst experience at River Nail and Spa. I came out of it with a cut on my big toe and a smudge on another toe. When I saw the smudge and brought it to the attention of the pedicurist. she asked me to wait till she could fix it. half an hour later I had to remind her firmly that I had been waiting and she send another person to fix it.She was callous and nicked me while removing toe cuticles.Bad experience Read Less

Read the reviews before coming here! I unfortunately did not pay attention and was in for an unpleasant surprise.Upon walking in, I was greeted with an unfriendly "what do you need" by the manager, as if I was interrupting an important meeting. After choosing my colors for my regular mani-pedi from a wall of poorly organized half empty bottles of mostly cheap brands, I was seated at a spa chair with what appeared to be a filthy, stained towel under my feet.  The girl who did my toes was pleasant enough, but in general the staff looked miserable and had a brusque, unfriendly tone with every interaction.The mani-pedi itself was about as professional as if I had done it at home (and is a whopping $42). While they are very nice there, they did not sanitize the tools they used on me or even change the towel on the table between myself and the person before me. I was very unhappy with this salon! We looked at the prices and it said 20.99 for a fill! I ended up paying 41.00 ! I had 1 broken nail and did gel polish !!! The lady kept burning me with the drill file and cut the side of my finger with the nail file! Also the polish on one of my nails got messed up and instead of taking the polish off and fixing it she left it even after I said something! I'm giving this a two star rating and not one, only because they were very nice and friendly while I was there, and the place is quite clean. That said, it's been two weeks since I was there, paid $80 for a spa pedicure and a gel manicure, and there is only one fingernail that the polish is not chipping; most started chipping or peaking within a week. The worse part for me though is that I failed to check yelp before going like I normally would. We frequent Palm Springs and occasionally I'll treat myself to a mani/pedi while there if my boyfriend is attending a conference. I selected this purely out of convenience but sadly need to have my nails repainted causing me more money and taking more time than had I gone to where I normally go while there. If I could give 0 stars i would. They charged you a "takeoff fee" just to remove your existing nails. I have never heard of this fee before. Pure robbery. Got a gel manicure and within 5 days it was already peeling off. Tricked by the awesome location, but never again.They were $15 more expensive than other competitors within the Rancho Mirage area. The service is okay and they do an average job...HOWEVER, their prices are a total rip-off! They upcharge you without telling you what the costs will be. My dad took me here for my birthday and we each had pedicures and he had a manicure and I had a fill. They charged us $217!!! That is outrageous. The average price for these services elsewhere would have been around $120.  When I called to discuss it with someone, I was told about all the erroneous charges. For example, it was an extra $10 charge to have my nails and feet done at the same time. What is that about? I've never heard of such a thing. Of course they didn't mention there would be an additional fee at the time. I was also charged for callous removal when I specifically said that I did not want or need callous removal. And so on and so forth...I do not mind paying higher prices from a luxury spa, but this is not such a place. They are not transparent in their fees and we will not be back. Read Less

I have been going here for years and Tony is the best. He always takes good care of me. I have really long nails and it takes 2 sometimes 3 hours to do my nails. I never feel rushed and my nails and toes always look great. Thank you Tony!!! Read Less

Oh so this is embarrassing but I am going to tell it anyways hahaI went in and got my nails done, they offered eyebrows, I accepted. I was charged and counted out cash and tip, then left. The nails looked great, even though it was a little pricey. When I returned again, two girls were talking and obviously I had no clue what they were saying. When all of a sudden the older lady doing my nails cut my cuticle, and it bled. Immediately after she did that she said, so you didn't pay for all of it last time. I said are you sure? Cause I was told 'X' amount and that is what I paid plus tip. (with tip it should have even came to the total they apparently should have charged me! I over tip being in the hospitality industry and I would like to return and have my nails done nice again obviously) So I apologized and paid even more to make sure the girl from before at least receive a tip, because I clearly didn't mean to do that. I am so sure they A. didn't count it right or B. didn't charge me accordingly.  SO WORD TO THE WISE, THEY WILL TALK SHIT ABOUT YOU AND CUT YOU IF THEY DECIDE THEY DON"T like you. Terrible service... Tina she very rude. I asked for fill on my acrylics while I wanted with my client . She was told that I should get a gel over my nail & she asked cut the hangnail. I have never paid $ 57 for fill. I tip her  , she didn't ever say thank you . Never smile .  I was mad at myself for even tipping her because she was so rude.My client had a pedicure and also got the gel it was $106 for basic pedicure with gel & acrylic my toes. This used to be our go to place. It is highly insulting they charge $.45 to use a credit card. There are constant up charges for every little thing that you want to do. The thing they lost us on was to try to charge us $10 extra to get a manicure and pedicure at the same time on top of the price of both services which I've never heard of something so moronic in my entire life!Hopefully the owners will see this and come to their senses and maybe we will get an apology and change their policy. Terible service...very rude.i asked for  fill on my acrylics  while I waited  with my client. I was told that I should get a gel overcoat otherwise my nails would be wet when I left $20 extra for a gel coat hello I have never paid more than $5 I said no and ended up walking out without polish. I tipped her $5 my fill was $21 she didn't even say thank you! I was mad at myself for even tiping her because she was so rude. Staff isn't very attentive but they are nice. I went in for a pedicure and I ended up getting my legs waxed, eye brows waxed and my toes done. My total was 88$ kind of steep in my book. This shop does do the shellac/Gel nails along with specialty work like webbed/frog acrylic nails. My one upset was the wax was REALLY hot and caused my legs to break out in blisters, I told the lady it was too hot and she just laughed and kept going... language barrier I can only assume. Read Less
