Today I tried Star Nails for the second time. The first time being back in April. My experience was fantastic, the girl who helped me was friendly, did an amazing job on my nails (that lasted almost 3 weeks). I always wanted to make sure to return to Star Nails but never made it a point. Today however was a much different experience. I was helped by a man with a shellac manicure. I have had numerous manicures done in the past and I knew that the manicure would take no longer than 20-25 minutes max. I was there for 50 minutes. While I appreciate the mans time he spent making sure my nails looked nice, I did NOT appreciate the conversation during my time there.Through out my time in the shop, the man assisting me asked me many inappropriate questions -the first being "do you have a boyfriend" before even offering a hello. When I answer back "no" I was called "young and easy" multiple times. I thought it as a joke so I just moved past it. It was then that I started to notice how often he was squeezing my hands in ways that were not professional for a manicurist. But continuing on he made rude and naive remarks about my ethnicity, my family, my looks and much more. At one point he kept the questioning why I don't learn how to cook, or cook for my "daddy". I knew that I was in an uncomfortable situation that I did not want to be in anymore, but none the less he was still painting my nails through all of this and I started to remain quiet. Towards the end of my visit the man helping me stands up and walks behind me (I was thinking he was going to move something or grab something to finish up) he then begins to rub my shoulders and arms standing behind me while I was still sitting down, he then began to brush my hair away from my shoulders (if you cannot tell, all of this was very much unneeded -I came there for a quick manicure NOT to get my shoulders massaged). I told him to stop after making it clear how uncomfortable I was and he went on to finishing my nails. After that he made a comment in regards to me needing to get a boyfriend by the next time I see him and also getting my upper lip waxed. After sharing my experience with friends and family members it was obvious that I was taken advantage of. I will not be returning to this nail salon ever again and I would never recommend for another women to go either. I have never been treated with such disrespect or violation in my entire life at another salon by and man OR a women. Love this nail salon. Everyone here is so sweet and friendly, plus funny! I love Theresa! She is my go to for my acrylics and waxing! She does amazing every time. Holly is also very sweet; even when I call last minute she will get me in when needed! Another plus -- I constantly get compliments on my nails as well! So I've been going to this place for a few months and had issues with polish last time and I wish it was that minor this time, but it's not. I don't know her name but it wasn't Theresa for sure. She's the best as is her husband Henry. The lady was older and started clipping my nails which hurt so bad. I said "you cut me and I told you I'm diabetic" she actually argued with me so when she was done hacking off my nails I looked and sure as shit she cut me in two places and argued and said it was nail polish. Bullshit, she stabbed me twice - today it looks like I'm getting an infection which most people know I could loose a foot over such an infection. And to top it off they charged me.  This place is ridiculous if you don't go to one lady. I'm done with these nasty infectious places.  And I'm not stopping there. I'll be making some calls- After I wrote this I got a threatening message from some guy named Travis - my photos show the cut and infection.  Travis tried to say I showed up upset not true. I have been going here for 8 years. I drive all the way from Vista because Teresa is the only one who can make my nails look the way I want! Everyone there is so friendly as well and knows you. They are the quickest and most efficient in the area. They do full gel mani in 30min with arm and hand massage. Sometimes they'll even throw in a shoulder massage. They are all very nice. Its a small spot so if you get stuck waiting, it can be up to 30min, but their prices are incredible. Read Less
