I moved to the area almost 2 years ago and have read lots of reviews regarding this place. The staff takes their time and is very thorough with their pedicures and manicures. It is a family owned salon and they treat you like family. They always know my name and I have become a regular here. I love the massages and the paint always last and has never chipped for me. I have gone to other nail salons in the past but as soon as I become a regular, the quality of the massage and the pampering goes down. It is simply not the case for Emerald. I had been going to another salon for years but I felt like I had to micromanage for my nails to look decent. I finally decided to search out a higher quality salon, even if that meant paying more. I made an appointment and came in. My only regret is not finding this salon sooner. Jenny does my nails, but I've had a couple pedicures by other employees and they are all great. I am always offered a dink when I come in and I am able to zone out on the tv or in conversation with Jenny and know my nails will be perfect. Whenever I've had a nail issue they are always quick to fix it at no charge, even when I offer to pay. I could rave about the salon all day, but you should definitely go check it out for yourself. Been looking for a new place to do my nails..... and im glad i finally decided to try Emerald nails. I walked in with my daughter and right away we were warmly greeted. I didnt have an appt but that wasnt an issue. I explained that i wanted a full set pink holographic coffin nails and a pedi the same color. Also my daughter needed her nails cut, filed, and a color change. We got exactly what we asked for! Not only are they friendly and  accommodating but they have an eye for detail and wont settle for less than perfect! Beautiful job! Happy customer! If you pay with cash you get 3% off. This is the place to go for all your nail needs! I have only seen Jenny so far but she does great work and is very knowledgeable and friendly. I am picky in the sense that I like to find someone who is good at their craft and I stick with them. I will not go anywhere else and neither should you! I love this place! Jenny (the owner) is always incredibly nice to everyone that walks in the door. She makes you feel so welcomed. Mia has done my toes for 2 years and always does an amazing job. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is that they really don't want to take a credit card here. I rarely carry cash, especially anything over $50, so it's a huge downfall for me. Made an appointment yesterday for 10am today and received a response quickly from the owner Jenny. Walked in today and had no wait. Danny did a fantastic job on my nails! He was careful and thorough. I got a full set acrylic nails with French tip. Some salons do the tip with powder but this salons does it with white nail polish. They also guarantee it for 7 days. (No big deal since I just need it to last til tomorrow for a wedding). I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Service cost $45 for the full French tip set + 3% for card. And I left a cash tip. Love this place, and customer service is great!Very meticulous on detail and corrected any issue they saw on my nails even though I didn't see anything wrong. Also they use a hot stone to massage you! Almost fell asleep in my chair. Very friendly and clean, they have a huge selection of gel polishes. I came in for a fill and pedicure while here on business. The hot stone massage for the pedicure was to die for! Love it! My nails look horrible. Went in for a pedicure manicure. The pedicure turned out fine, but my manicure is just awful. I had asked for a layer of acrylic underneath my gel French manicure because my nails are really thin and brittle right now. The manicurist said no problem he put it tip and acrylic then paint over with French. My first problem is I asked for round oval shape and he argued with me for like 3 minutes that it doesn't look good. I don't really care what your opinion is that's what I want. He starts filing, gets my skin a few times. I repeatedly said you're filing my skin, he says okay, then does it again. The round edge was so crooked! The manager finally came over to take a look to file it herself, her excuse for why they can't get around as cuz they're so used to doing almond shape these days.  Round should not be that hard of a concept. Finally we get done with the French tip I look down at my nails and you can see the false tip underneath the paint. Are you kidding me question mark I asked him should I be able to see the fake tip underneath?? He just smiles and says yes. The best gel manicure I have ever gotten. AND the best service. I was getting so tired of my gel manicures lasting a week at most without chipping or peeling off- not to mention making my nails extremely weak and thin. This gel manicure has lasted two weeks without a single bump, crack, or peel. And I feel like I could go another full week if my nails weren't growing out underneath. I really love this place because it's so relaxing. Last time I fell asleep for a couple minutes haha. I only ever come here for pedicures because they do a very good pedicure. There was just one lady who I was not impressed with but I really enjoy my time here. I spend a lot on a pedicure here but I don't mind because I usually do a deluxe pedicure so it's over an hour and gel polish as well because it lasts forever. The owner is such a nice sweet lady and is very welcoming! I just would not recommend getting acrylics done here because only the guy does acrylics and when I had a fill done he took over an hour and a half and they were awful! This nail salon is simply AMAZING. I have been looking for a nail salon as good as the one I use to go to when I lived in UTC, and currently I live in scripps ranch and let me tell you- no other nail place can compare to this- I have been to 8 other ones around scripps ranch, Mira Mesa, and poway. My fav lady is Tina - she awesome and very good detailed when Jenny is busy. But everyone else is just a good! They care about all details and make sure they your nails are perfect. Gosh, what a breath of fresh air, truly. I was getting tired of the nail salon near our place, so I opted to venture out into Poway. I missed the business park completely since it was in the back of the lot and the sign outside was a bit hidden around the turn. So keep your eyes peeled! Upon entering, I was greeted by Jenny. She was very friendly and I'm assuming she's in charge. She took the appointments, payments, and was very attentive to all the customers in the shop. She assigned Tina for my spa gel polish nails and Kim for my spa pedicure. She also chose shows to watch on the TV that would appeal to the patrons at that time, but since minors came in, she apologized and change it to a family friendly show. I thought that was pretty considerate of her and I actually appreciated that. So back to the nails!Tina did a great job! She was very thorough. The nail on my right index finger was partially broken and I was totally unaware of it. She was able to repair it and made it look just as smooth as the others. In the end, my nails came out better than expected and lasted for a solid 2 weeks. Kim was an older lady, but make no mistake. She was just as thorough as Tina. She cleaned up my cuticles well and man, the hot stones felt incredible on my legs. Just thinking about it makes me want to run there after work! Haha.After I was finished, Jenny rang me up. It was a total of $49. I paid in cash and she gave me a stamp card (only valid for cash payment visits). She also told me my nails were guaranteed for 7 days, which I LOVE! I was contemplating on getting my nails done because:1 - Every time I get them done they don't last long (the polish starts to chip away after a week)2 - It adds up!.. BUT! I am SO GLAD I decided to come here to get them done. Not only am I in LOVE with my nails, but I am excited to come back!Experience.Everyone here is welcoming and very sweet. I walked in without an appointment and was a little taken back because they had a full house.. They said they could fit me in, in about 10 minutes. I was a bit skeptical because I was on a time crunch - so I was up front about it. I said I had to be out by a certain time and the owners checked with the rest of their staff to see if they could make it happen. Once they confirmed, I was still a bit nervous but figured, "I'm never in this area and they have close to perfect ratings with over 200 reviews - what do I have to lose?!" So I chose my color, looked on yelp to see what designs they had and waited patiently. I was there for a mani/pedi and they started with my pedi first. The experience was great. The hot stone part was pretty cool. My experience getting a mani was better than my pedi. The pedi was pretty basic to be honest - even with the upcharge for an add on service. As for my mani - one nail tech helped prepped my nails and Jenny came to make them sparkle! She's precise and her attention to detail is key! She's a perfectionist so your nails will come out looking flawless.Disclaimer:I don't get gels or acrylics. My nails are natural. With that said, they do not do designs on natural nails. Jenny mentioned she made an exception for me because I was a new customer. I don't understand why they don't - it's been a week and a half and my nails still look GREAT! She was up front though and did say there is no guarantee for regular nail polish, which I appreciate. I don't know of any salons that do any kind of guarantees to be honest. As much as I'd love to give them 5 stars (because I am sooooo in love with my nails) - I have to kock a star off for the pedi and not being able to do nail art on natural nails.. I'm not a fan of getting gel or acrylics so it'll be interesting when I return to hear about what I need to do to have fun nail art next (..and what the cost difference is as well - because a standard mani/pedi is pretty affordable!)There are quite a few nail salons closer to me, but if I'm in the mood again to get my nails done I'd make the effort to go to Emerald since they aren't that much further than the others. My mom and I were searching for a new nail salon. I came upon Emerald Nails on Yelp, they had amazing reviews,so I decide to try them out. Their reviews were well deserve. Some criticize the location and space but as the owners would put it "they are creating an intimate and inviting setting not a factory with lots of chairs". It's about the quality at this place not quantity. Jenny, was the one who perform my spa pedicure and she happens to be the owner of the shop. This is her family's business and they take customer service serious and they genuinely care about your needs and wants. I was impressed with my experience and I would recommend this place to anyone.
