I am here at the salon getting polish on my fingernails and toe nails. My tech is doing an excellent job and is very attentive, but that’s not why I am writing this review. I witnessed a disabled patron come into this salon and the staff was amazing. 3 staff members paused what they were doing to help this patron to their seat. Went in for a gel over lay today, which is a natural look with out the fake nails but still some powder to make the nails look longer and look neat and look very much alike acrylic nails. Yet this is what I received, I tried to explain myself repeatedly and they could not understand what I wanted since they don't speak much English and when this was the finished product and I couldn't believe they expected me to pay $34 for that! I was not going to go back and forth and make a scene but they have lost my business forever. Many visits to NT Nails over the last five to eight years, mostly pedicure and manicures. In the past, I had gotten sets of acrylic nails, but since I have had Gel Nails, then that's what I choose. Most of the time, the nail service was excellent, and maybe only 2-3 times the technique and quality was poor. Usually, hardly any wait time. I try to go in the morning, before they get very busy. Only one time I was told I had a 15 minute wait, then 20-25 minutes later, I was told I had 15-20 wait AGAIN. I left only to come back another day, in the morning. Based on what I stated about the numerous services, then maybe I should say five stars. Therefore, I changed up from four stars. By the way, everyone working there has always be nice! Read Less

My review is specifically for one of the manicurists, Monica.  I have been in here several times and had both manicures (regular as well as gel polish) and pedicures and they always do an ok job, but today Monica did a gel french manicure, and she did an outstanding job!  She was not only very meticulous about the work and making sure that I was happy every step of the way, she was friendly and warm and she seemed genuinely happy to be there and to be working on my nails.  I asked her for her name so that I can be sure to ask for her again....she was THAT good! I just moved to Porterville and there are limited amounts of nail salons to choose from. I read the reviews on here which had bad ratings, but decided to give them a try. I called them for their hours today (Saturday), the lady said said they close at 8pm and they don't make appointments "first come, first serve" I come in around 7:10pm for a gel mani and regular pedi. The place is clean and spacious. Everything was going well until 7:30pm when the lady seem rushed because she had plans after work, then became rude when the nail polish on my toes messed up while she tried to put on the paper sandals. Then threw the other sandal and paper towel she had in her hand in the washing bowl. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!The price they have on display said pedi $23 and gel polish on the hands $15. But total came out to $55 she said pedi is $23 and gel is $32 (my real nails, no acrylic added)  because it included a manicure. Which does not make any sense to me at all since I've been to many nail salons and their price on display already includes the paint and manicure. She just had an attitude most of the time, and then has the nerve to tell me to come early next time because everyone wants to go home and don't want to stay late to finish. Well next time I won't even bother to give them my business. For the bad customer service and false advertisement on price, which makes this place very pricey! FYI: I lived in the Bay Area and I never paid this much for the services I received today. Very disappointed at the customer service! Owner could care less about making the customer happy! I told him I was unhappy with my service and it was not what I asked for and he argued that I was wrong! I came here Easter weekend & my first impression: the place looks nice & clean. A Latina female did my pedi & right away I could tell she did not enjoy her job. She was making rude remarks about the other employees & just seemed overall upset she was working there. Anyways about the pedi: I have ingrown toe nails on both my big toes (every salon I've ever been to has never had a problem cutting them out) however this young lady was very rough in doing so. She yanked my nail out & ended up cutting my toe. It hurt so bad & my toe was bleeding a lot. As she continued, the paint job was mediocre, I had to fix it once she finished. The receptionist was super kind and welcoming! It was so busy I was about to walk out and go back another day, but she greeted me and welcomed me in. She told me to sit right away and I was there for no more than 45 minutes. Got gel polish, was very happy with the outcome. The only bad part was that the nail tech that was doing my nails kept taking deep breaths like he was frustrated, looking around at everyone walking in, and he just looked super miserable. I was there Easter weekend. Had a male do my pedi he was pleasant but needed to be a little more gentle with filing my nails and buffing them. My daughter had a female Latina who clearly didn't enjoy her job and seemed to, under her breath, make remarks about the other employees. This female's demeanor was not inviting. My guy ok! I have been there 3 times, the first time they did a great job on my fill, second time it was terrible I got them redone a week later. The third time I went I was hoping to have a great experience like the first time, I ended up getting the same guy I got the second time. He rushed everything, my nails were so bumpy and crooked. I got the old man, and he is a nice man. But his work on my nails was horrible. He tried charging me for gel nails when I only got regular nail polish. He mad me bleed twice and continued to work. And he did not shape then as I wanted, I wanted stiletto nails (I even showed him a picture as an example). But he made them almond shaped. I will not be giving them my business again. Read Less

The gentleman that did my pedicure looked at my feet about 1/4 of the time,  mostly just when painting my toe nails.  He was literally staring at these other ladies while buffing my skin instead of my toe nails.   I finally just pulled my feet away to force him to look down. He just did it again. He turned the water on super hot,  felt it,  then rinsed my leg.  When I told him it was really hot,  he just turned it to straight cold.  Same thing for when he filled the water basin. He never talked to me,  just tapped my foot or leg and pointed.  I assumed he couldn't speak English.  Then at the end when he tried to put shoes on my feet immediately after painting my toes and I requested that he wait,  he then spoke perfect English to me. I have been coming here for over a year, I enjoy my pedicures with Nancy. She is very gentle and does a great job. My have my nails done also and each one has done a great job. They do an okay job here. Depends on who you get. The owner is great, there's also a couple of women that do a good job, but it also depends on the day. Just make sure the owners wife actually sees you pay, or she'll yell at you from across the room while you're trying to leave so everyone stares at you and thinks you're trying to skip out. Don't post reviews very often, but I feel compelled to warn those who may consider this place to get their nails done. My whole family has been getting their nails done here at this place ever since we've moved. (5 years ago) So this is a review that should hold value. I'm very particular about my nails. First thing, I must say is that I've never enjoyed getting my nails done here. The customer service is poor, there is never the same people there twice(besides the couple that owns and a couple others). Which I find very odd. Every single time I come in there are comments that I find inappropriate and make me feel uncomfortable. They have made comments pertaining to my weight and acne and they have called me "little girl" which I find very annoying.  Their nails are average, price average, manicures and pedicures vary due to who you get and what mood they are in. I've also heard people complain about how ruff they are and how much they ignore you when you ask them to be gentle. Which I've experienced as well. So if you are sensitive id be aware. The only reason I come back is because I'm willing to put up with it most the time to get the quality I want for my acrylic nails considering the area it's located there are not really any better options. But this last time I'm considering finding a different establishment. I went in to get my nails done today. I'm a college student so I'm usually on a tight budget and know exactly how much I can spend and my mother was giving me a late birthday present to get my eyebrows waxed along with my nails which I was paying with different cards. So I get my eyebrows waxed and pay for that and then I sit down to get my nails done. After being bugged over and over to try to up sale to "gel polish", which I repeatedly had no interest in, I finish and go to pay for my nails. They the guy tells me me its going to be more than I normally pay due to the fact that I was getting my nails shaped different, even though I said I've gotten them done that way before and it wasn't anymore expensive. So I say okay fine but I know I won't have enough and my mom said that I could charge the remaining balance on her card which was just a few dollars.( keep in mind this is all after I'd already had my nails done just needing polish) so he takes me card and I tell him to charge x amount on one card and x on the other because I wouldn't have enough for the whole price. He took my card and stood over there for id say about 5 minutes and came back and told me that the credit card was declining and then he shows me that he showed declined and I say well I should have money on there and he said "you have no money" and they says we will just charge the whole thing on this the other card that he was only suppose to charge a couple dollars on and I say that's not my card that's my moms and I'm not sure how much it is that she has on there. He says we can just swipe it and if it doesn't then there's no money. I was irritated already, but he swipes the card cause I guess I had no other option and then I sign for my moms card. So I go home and check my account to see why it declined and I had no money and he took out the money for the nails. I ask my mom if they charged  her card and they did! So we go over there and try to see what happened. For one they were so rude. Tried saying it was the machine and then were accusing me of throwing the receipt  out, then the papers that were supposedly suppose to be for the "transaction" were destroyed cause they were "thrown in the trash" by me...when I never even saw that there was papers. Then he was saying that the bank does that and that it was the machine that said declined and that the refund was on the way. I was never told that the card even went through at all! But it did and then it was refunded and then the guy charged the full amount on my moms card. They were arguing with us and did not apologize for defensive and on top of that said well you should just pay with cash next time! Like its my fault I wanted to use a card.. So basically the guy charged my account and with out telling me,  instead telling me my card was just plain declined and I had no money, then supposedly refunded me with out telling me or having me sign anything, allowed me to charge the other card the full amount. I visited here today for my second time while visiting my family. Our first time was great, and it seemed to be the best nail place in town, from the modernness of the salon to the service. Today was another story.My niece and I each got mani/pedis. To be fair, the woman doing my toes, and the young man with the very cool white-dyed hair that did my niece's toes and fingers were great. The problem is the young man with the dark spikey hair that did my fingers. Without him this would have been a 4 star review.I have never in all my life had such a poor mani. Nine of my ten nails near the nail bed were jagged, not rounded; the second coat didn't go as close to the nail bed, making a very visible line; coverage on several nails was poor creating various textures; and he got paint all over my skin. I have never had a professional mani that needed to so extensively use a paintbrush and remover, and even still mistakes remained.When I complained he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, as did the woman doing my toes, and they asked if I had had black nail polish before (which I have numerous times) as if the paint was why his work was terrible. If this logic made any sense, my toes would be just as bad, which they weren't; they are perfect. He then said the clear coat would fix it. This is preposterous! Clear can't fix a lack of paint or a horrendous job.He took the nail polish off of one and started over, but the second time was just as bad, so I gave up. I decided it would be easier, less time consuming, and higher quality if I fixed them at home myself.What was so irritating is that someone that obviously lacked experience, concern, or a desire to do good work is allowed to do work. His terrible job makes me not want to return. So beware of a young man with spikey dark if you go here, and don't be surprised if it's the worst mani you've ever had. Read Less

So I brought my sis here so she can get her nails done & they were so rude ( the owner) sayn comments makin my sis seemed like she was a dumb person & her husband comes over & says his remarks, I thought dat was uncalled for, so I'll never come back there again. The appearance on the inside is nice. I've always enjoyed the work I've had done at NT nails except for today. The guy that did my nails is named David. I have not seen him there before, perhaps he is new. He was not gentle on my nails at all. Three of my fingers bled near the cuticle area on my left hand and 2 fingers on my right hand. My nails look ok, but my cuticles are on fire!!! Every time he would take the nail file to my fingers he was rubbing more on the skin than the finger nail. Sever times I had to say "ouch" and pull my hand back. IF I ever come back again, I will refuse to see that guy. I've been a regular customer for months, but I'm not sure I want to come back.
