I now prefer Lake Nails on Newport. I cannot give zero stars to Happiness Nails, but I want to. I just learned how to leave reviews. A couple of months ago I walked in with my two nieces. I saw one of the workers attending to a customer, about six feet from the door. We stood for about two or three minutes, and he did not acknowledge us. My niece got his attention, and she asked him "How long of a wait will it be?" He replied with a nasty tone, "I'll be with you in a minute." We waited about two or three more minutes. My niece asked again, "How long of a wait?" He said something like, "Sit down and wait." Again, the tone was nasty. He continued to work with the customer, and began mumbling under his breath. The customer began to laugh. I told my niece, "This not how to run a business. Let's go." It is my belief that if a person wants to run a business they need to learn how to deal with the public, or they will receive negative reviews from people like me. My nieces drove to see me. They wanted to take me to do something nice. Happiness Nails gave us several nasty minutes. We should only spend our money where we receive satisfactory service. I really don't even feel like giving them a one star. I would rather give give them zero stars due to the fact that we were waiting the night before for over an hour so decided to make an appointment for the next morning. When we got there a different man said only my daughter had an appointment and they didn't see my appointment to just get my toenail fixed. The man acted as if I was lying. Then sat me down as I waited for this lady with an attitude and spoke to me as if she was barking orders. I was a loyal customer until they made me feel like complete sh*t simply by asking for the tiny personal fan they had on another table like a foot away from where they sat me for a manicure. Basically, THEIR AC was broken & it was over 96° outside so they had their doors open & it was humid in there & all i asked for was the little tiny fan & they freaked tf out. They were completely rude about it & immediately got loud towards me. It was embarrassing to be in that situation infront of all of the other customers & they were NOT willing to accommodate to my needs (which were so small may i add) as a loyal, well tipping customer. I really want to give them ZERO stars, but Google won't allow it. I went to this nail salon on Friday, Sept.1 with my aunt and my sister, hoping to have a "girl's day out" of pampering and fun. Upon entering, we were dryly greeted by the man at the first station. We patiently waited for about 10 minutes, looking through menu of services offered and selecting our colors while we waited. I eventually asked the man, "About how long is the wait". He looked bothered at my question and simply replied, "I'll be right with you" in an annoyed tone of voice. I wasn't trying to rush him or anyone else, I simply asked the question out of curiosity so that we could have any idea of how much longer we had to wait. I replied to him, "Yes, but how much longer is the wait?". Again, he responded "I'll be with you". I said, "That's not what I asked, I just want to know how long the wait is going to be". NOT ONCE DID HE ANSWER MY QUESTION! He was working on some girl's nails and my aunt saw him and I heard him whisper something to the girl under his breath and they both started chuckling and laughing. Once that happened, my aunt asked me "Do you want to take our business somewhere else?" (of course, loud enough for him to hear). I told her, it was up to her, since we were treating her for a mani and pedi that day. Needless to say, we left and will never return! We ended up going to a salon by the name of "Lake Nails" and had an AMAZING experience! The owner and everyone else was so friendly and welcoming! When we entered, the owner immediately approached us after she helped the customer at the register and told us the wait would be about 15 minutes (we didn't even have to ask her)! I can't speak for the work that Happiness Nails does, because we unfortunately, weren't able to experience it, but if you are looking for friendly and professional customer service... We come here when we need a pedicure. Usually a hit or a miss in regards to wait time and quality. Some of the workers are very friendly and always do a good job. Other times they can be slow or do a poor job.But sometimes you just need a pedicure and this location is very convenient for me.Overall it's probably just okay. Read Less

Tried out this nail salon almost 2 weeks ago. I got a simple coffin glitter tip & pedicure . Only the nails were gel. I had a very bad experience here the guy that was doing my nails was rushing me to pick colors & he did a very sloppy work, the gel dripped through the side of my nail onto my finger , he did not take his time so they were not evenly shaped at all. Its about to be 2 weeks & some have now chipped from the bottom that is close to my cuticle & also seems like it created air bubbles in that area too. Service at this place is horrible. Doesn't do any good to make an appointment, they are too busy trying to cram as many walk-ins as they can so you still have to wait.  Made an appt for my daughter for prom, one of many appts for the day, told them when I made the appt we would be pressed for time. When we walked in, of course all their people were busy taking care of walk-ins and we had to wait. Their little pimp even gave me attitude when I asked how long we would have to wait. This place is in a really convenient location for us so we have been here a few times now. It is your typical nail salon with the massage chairs and people talking in a language most of their clients can't understand. I have only ever had a pedicure here and my mother-in-law has also gotten her eyebrows done. My mother-in-law has nothing but praise for the lady she usually has do her eyebrows there. I usually get the number 2 which comes with a few added things like hot stones. My mother-in-law gets the number 3 for the callous removal which is usually good.Overall, they do a good job at pedicures and eyebrows and they always seems to be decently clean. Can't comment on their other services but we enjoy coming here when for pedicures! They workers are always friendly and do a good job. I have had good and bad experiences here. The last 2 times were bad... they left a messy edge on my gel polish manicure. They send me out with polish stuck to the skin around my nails and the gel layers were too thick and "blobby" looking. A professional job should look neat and clean. They tried to blame in on my short nails...yes I have natural short nails and I want them painted - so what? They also are not good at designs. If you just want a basic mani-pedi, then it is fine. The wait will be REALLY long if you don't make an appointment, but my appointment is usually taken on time, albeit not without reminding them it's your turn. Make an appointment because they are pretty busy but busy for a reason. They do a great job . I always come out happy with my nails. I am a personal trainer and have acrylics and my nails NEVER have broken . Peter does a good job and even when I call late to come in he accommodates and even works over time to make sure everyone gets attended . I won't go any where else . Read Less

The only reason this place is receiving 2 stars is because my daughter's pedi and mani came out pretty good. Other than that horrible French gel manicure for me and he charged me 30 dollars for and I agree with the other yelper  one of the ladies that did my pedicure was seriously hating life. Their prices are affordable and the staff is nice and welcoming. Weekend mornings are busy so make an appointment. I usually don't and usually I wait for about 10-15 minutes, which I don't mind. For a full set, pedicure, and eye brow wax, I paid $52. I honestly think that's a great deal considering I used to pay $40 for just a pedicure. Read Less

This place is terrible ! I went in and requested a pedicure and a pedique ( full set for the toes ) they said no problem , take a seat. I asked if I needed to write it down he said no. After 30 minutes of waiting they were ready for me , that's fine it's a Saturday I understand if they are busy The girl was asking about color options and I again made it clear I wanted a full set in addition to the pedicure , usually you don't have to pay for this in two separate transactions but that's how they were doing it She scrubbed my feet , cleaned my cuticles and did what you would expect of a basic pedicure.Then she started to paint my bare nail, I asked what she was doing and she said I requested a full set on the nails I've been here for almost 2 hours now She was confused and started painting the bottom of my nail I again asked what she was doing and explained again I want a full set on my toes So she said no problem someone else will do that for you.A man came over and said you want pink as if it wasn't normal. I said yes I want the full acrylic nail set painted pink He brought out tips for fingers and said sorry your toe is too big , I asked well don't you have tips for toes ??? Those are for fingers are they not ? He said yes and your toe is too big I said so you can't do it ? He said he could it just wouldn't cover the whole nail. Well that would look terrible so I asked is this a service you normally do not provide ? He said I can do it your toe is just too big . I again said so you can't do it ? Well why did you agree to it two hours ago ?? He said I can but your toe is to big. I was fed up with their service at this point and said ok I'm going to leave now you have wasted my time and now I have to go get my nails done elsewhere. They tried to charge for the pedicure I received I said no you didn't complete the service I requested . They said you got a pedicure you have to pay for it. I said its unfinished. They said we can paint it and Finnish it. I said no that's not what I asked for. If you couldn't provide he service for me you should have said so when I arrived. They made me pay for my pedicure. I've been to Happiness Nails twice. The first time I went my gel nails lasted for four weeks! I just got my nails done again, my tech took such good care of my nails and was so detailed in her work. She also didn't make it seem like it was a burden to do designs on my nails like a lot of places tend to do. 10/10 excellent experience. Read Less

I have been looking for a new nail salon. I just got the gel done on my nails and they look simply amazing! The gel makes my nails look great for a few weeks and protects them from constant cracking or chipping! They also do super cute designs. The salon is spotless and has a chic atmosphere! Came here a few weeks ago with my friend, we were searching for a nail salon. ! We walked in and it didn't look like a nail salon more like a comfortable lounge!! The seats were cute and way comfortable.. I got a manicure which I loved .. the lady was really nice and she sat next to me.. it felt more like a spa and not a corner nail salon. I got there 10 mins before my appointment and they took me in early, despite being super busy. My technician was quick, precise, and friendly. She got me in and out in 40 minutes which was great! I was greeted when I walked in and helped right away even though it looked busy. The nail salon was very cute and looked super clean inside. Parking wasn't bad and it's nice to have a free lot to park in. The pricing was reasonable, I only had to pay nearly 30, cut down and gel manicure, which is pretty good. They have a good amount of gel colors but it never hurts to increase the selection. Read Less
