Came here today for first time and I was able to make appointment on a Saturday and both the manicurist and pedicurist where extremely detail oriented and they came out very pretty very satisfied. My favorite nail shop in Pasadena. I've been a customer since they opened and absolutely love it. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the owners are amazing people. I was nervous to try a different nail salon, but VP Nails was great! I made an appointment for a regular manicure 10am on a Saturday with Michelle and there was no one else there for an hour which was amazing. It was so relaxing - I thought their chairs were just fine. There were lots of walk-ins and they were able to accommodate. Parking was super easy. Michelle was SO nice and did a wonderful job on my nails. To pay I used Venmo and was able to tip with Venmo too which I loved. Definitely recommend this place. Read Less

I stopped by this awesome little nail shop after getting a massage across the street. I didn't have an appointment but only had to wait 10 minutes which was really nice. It probably took me that long to pick my gel color anyways. My nail technician was a young lady with a very gentle touch and her name is Kim! Kim did a nearly perfect job on my nails and the spacing around the cuticles is awesome. See my attached photo. Kim is now my go-to nail lady and I will definitely be requesting her when I come back.The nail salon isn't super fancy and they don't have pedicure chairs, but it rivals the other shops I've been to in Pasadena ten-fold. I wanted to venture out and try a different nail salon and it brought me here!This is located among other buildings and offices such as Citizen's Bank and a spa. There's free 1-2 hour street parking nearby. I came in at noon at a Tuesday and it was not busy at all. The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodated me with my nail technician. This place is not your usual nail salon; it has regular, non-massaging chairs but they're cushioned. Instead of having a sink attached to the chair, this nail salon uses shallow pans to soak your feet in. Vincent, my nail tech was great! He was very nice and confirmed with me on which package I wanted, which was the callus-treatment pedicure for $24. He was quick at clipping, trimming, and filing my nails. He also used the cuticle scissors and scraper to push it back to where it needed to be. I will say, it was kind of painful when he was working on the skin at the side of my right big toe. It became inflamed but luckily I didn't bleed. He was very thorough with the callous treatment by scrubbing my heels and the balls of my feet. They were pretty gnarly from the inconsistent weather and my lack of TLC.Thanks Vincent! You did a marvelous job on my nails! They take venmo!!!I liked it here. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. It took about an hour to do and everyone was very nice. I honestly don't know how this place has such a high rating. It really bothers me when places say they offer pedicure services but don't have proper equipment. My feet were washed in a bucket. A Saran-wrapped bucket...The salon was dingy and the experience was not great. I would have left upon seeing the place but I had already made the drive and I trusted the ratings. Honestly, I know I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to beauty services but this place was extra seedy. Tools weren't sanitized, towels weren't clean, just not great. My pedicure was ok. My pedicurist was friendly enough but I had to tell her twice that she hurt me. Cheaper prices but you can get much better service elsewhere. Will not be back! Read Less

Three words: "We accept Venmo." I've found my go - to mail salon because why not accept Venmo?! Besides this, Michelle actually did a great job on my digits! She took so much care and paid attention to details for each finger to make sure it was going on the entire nail as evenly as possible. She was so kind and gentle when we spoke so even though they didnt have massage chairs, I felt comfortable and relaxed. Michelle is also a very small woman, but the strength in her hands when she did my manicure massages...holy moly! So strong! The only downside to this was looking for parking. This place is awesome!  The crew here has been working here for a long time and every time I come in they are clutch.  My wife comes here way more often than me but I come in on occasion for the pedicure with the callous remover.  Being a dude it's a little against the grain rolling in here but they make it comfortable and understand that I'm here to get in and out.They do a fantastic job with my wife's nails and the owner is a master when it comes to nail design.  They are also super affordable and close to all the action in Pasadena.One caveat, BRING CASH.  They are a cash only joint! First I selected the color I wanted (red wine) off the OPi & Essie collection they offer. Each staff wear a mask and a new pair of gloves before touching each client. Vincent was my pedicurist and he did an awesome job with shaping my nails. I could tell that he took his time with it! He even moisturized my dry legs and gave me a mini massage. I have mixed feelings about this place. I've been here a few times and some were good, some were bad. My recent experience was okay. I got their upgraded pedicures (sea salt) since it's my bday week. Michelle did my pedicure and she kept asking me for different upgrades every time --thats how I ended up getting the sea salt pedi. Even after I upgraded, she kept asking me if I wanted more upgrades (like shiny buffing and extra massage time). Whenever I said no, she would say "really? You should. Its healthy." It got really annoying. Anyway, the actual pedicure was mediocre. I've had better. She was very soft on me and didn't really clean my toes well that I did at home after. Since she was wearing gloves, the massage (part of the package) was not good. Overall, I will find another place for my future appointments. My sister found that the lady that did hers was very unpleasant and looked extremely annoyed when she asked for her in grown to be removed. In growns hurt so... of course she will ask for it to be removed.... at a nail salon. She also got an upgrade on her pedi and it was as mediocre as mine. Read Less

Honestly, the BEST place for nails. Lilly & Michelle are the absolute sweetest! I've been going to this shop for the past year or so & I'm in love! In addition to the incredible nail work, gel policy, and sweet employees, they are very respectful on your appointments! They will NEVER tell you to go in if they are very busy & unable to attend you (unlike many other places). Also, the gel work here is off the charts! My nails have never ever ever chipped and have always lasted AT LEAST 3 weeks, if not longer. Check out my picture below. This is a regular pedicure that I got for my wedding on September 2nd (done by Vincent) and look @ how good they still look!! Almost 2 months now and no chips! Best work ever! Had a great gel manicure here this morning.  I made an appointment, but it wasn't busy at all when I arrived (I guess weekday mornings aren't prime manicure times!).  As others have mentioned, It's a very small shop, with room for about 10 clients.  It doesn't have the typical massage chair/ foot soak setup, either.  You sit in a comfy chair with pillows and your hands and feet are soaked in bowls/ tubs, which still gets the job done, and the arm massage I got after my manicure was enough to make me forget about a clunky massage chair!The price of a gel French tip seemed reasonable - came out to $38 I believe - and Michelle did great work.  She was friendly and meticulous!Bonus - it's right next door to Europane, so you can get your coffee and croissant fix right after!  That's my plan for next time, at least... I'm sad to say that this establishment up until my last visit had been my go-to place for all my nail care. My most recent experience did not go as well. As you guys probably know, going to nail salons are always risky because with improper tool disinfection, you increase your chances of getting fungal infections and such. It's a must that the most preventative way is for nail salons to autoclave their tools and pack them into sterile blue packs afterwards. NEVER go to establishments that use barbicide solution as: 1) they are usually diluted to save money and 2) they do not kill all harbored bacteria and fungus. Anyways, this is why my last experience led to this one-star review:1) Up until then, I had just assumed that the tools had been autoclaved as seen by their blue sterile packaging, but I decided that day I was going to ask to validate this, cause hey, it's my health that's on the line right? So I decided to ask this older-looking gentleman nail technician, as the lady who was doing my nails (shoulder-length curly hair), had stood up to get something. As he was working on my friend's nails (who was sitting next to me), I asked him how the tools were cleaned, and I didn't think he understood me as he gave me a confused look. However, when the lady who was doing my nails came back, he started to talk to the lady in Vietnamese, and they both started looking at me. As they were talking more, the lady started to glare at me and give me this dirty look. I truly don't understand what that was about, and I was honestly confused. Had he understood what I had said? Did I say something to offend them? But, that was that, and I never got my original question answered. 2) Unfortunately, my pedicure experience with this same lady was terrible that day. I had gotten the callus treatment with my pedicure, and her technique didn't leave my feet smooth at all. After I got home I could feel the coarse ridges on parts of my feet where she had buffed. Randomly stopped in while in Pasadena and I was pleasantly surprised by the service. I'm usually disappointed with most nail salons but this one is great! Its a small nail salon but very comfortable and quiet. The staff is incredibly friendly and they did a great job with my gel manicure as well. They have lots of gel colors to choose from too.
