This spot is cool but I think I like the DTLA location better. Parking is a bit easier here, with metered parking spaces right outside the front door and a 90 minute free structure just a short walk away.The biggest difference is that this location is a lot smaller. Not too big of a deal but the ambiance is different here. One problem I had was that my massage chair did not work well, only a couple of functions were operating on it.  I also asked for a coffee from the coffee bar they have out, but my nail tech told me that their keurig machine was broken...a few minutes later another nail tech came over with a coffee for me (not sure how they made it but it definitely wasn't from the keurig). I really appreciated that they went the extra mile to make it for me.Overall I'm sure I'll be back. I have been coming to this nail salon for the past 2 years.  I always make an appointment with Mai and she is always very accommodating with my schedule.  She always takes a lot of time when she does my pedicures and gel manicures.  She does an awesome job.  I have never felt like she rushes to get done.  My gel always last 2 was and sometimes even longer.  Call ahead and ask for Mai she will not disappoint you. I have been a customer here for 5 years plus now. Lynn and Fong are my faves. Most of the staff are exceptional here. Taking one star off as today I did a walk in and received horrible service from the lady who did my pedicure. The girls I usually go to were off for the day. I was helped by one of the older nail technicians and I have to say, thumbs down. She was not friendly. I felt my pedicure was rushed. She did not take the time adequately to remove all the dead skin from my feet. Let me tell you, I can have some dead skin. There is a certain nail that accumulates a lot of dead skin under, she didn't touch it. Fong is normally on top of it! She put a squirt of lotion on each leg while my legs and feet were wet. When she brought the hot towel, she threw it on my leg as if she were placing a piece of uncooked meat on a cutting board. Slap!I decided during the pedicure to cancel my manicure request. This was an absolutely horrible experience. They were super rude when we got there and the lady who did my manicure never asked me what I wanted or anything. She commented on how gross my nails were and how gross it was that i bit my nails. To make matters worse, she made four of my fingers bleed and then tried to hide it. The way that she worked on my cuticles was painful and she wiped the blood on a dirty cloth. Then she left when she was done, didn't even offer any sort of heat lamp to dry my nails under. WOW as a person who has been through all kinds of experiences in nail salons i can honestly say that i got the best and quickest service from here! i went in to get a gel fill with three other girls who got a full gel set, a gel mani, and a regular fill. two of us had appointments and the rest of us didn't and there were a few other people in the salon already. IT TOOK LESS THAN AN HOUR FOR ALL 4 OF US!!!! WOW...Amazing service! Yesterday, Kevin did my gel mani and Michelle did my pedi. They couldn't have been more accommodating. They were both gentle and incredibly thorough. I recently moved to the area and am so excited to have such a gem of a salon that I can walk to! First of all, out of all of the reviews I read before deciding to go here, none of them mentioned something very important, at least in my opinion!  They have free electric massage chairs that putter away on you as you are getting your nails worked on!!! How cool is that! I've got me some nasty feet, with some even more nasty toes.  The big toes on both of my feet have in-grown toe nails, so bad that they hurt pretty bad sometimes.  And my eyes are so bad, that even with glasses, I can't see well enough to do much about it myself.  After noticing the pain on both feet today, I thought to do something I had never tried before.  I popped up Yelp and searched for "pedicure in-grown (zipcode)", where (zipcode) was of course my zipcode. After sifting through a few reviews for a few different businesses, I saw one that mentioned someones husband going here to have LYNN work on his ingrown toenails.  So I called, asked for LYNN, told her my sitch, and she said come in in half an hour, so I did. Besides the chairs being electric massage chairs, they have these awesome foot tubs on them, each with their own plumbing, which allows them to easily flush out someones old used water and refill with fresh water for the next customer. She had it waiting for me with clean warmed water when I arrived, so we were able to get right to it.I was wondering how good of a job she could do, she not being any kind of a doctor and this not being any sort of medical facility.  But LYNN is an artist of her craft.  She knew exactly what tools to use and how to use them to remove the parts of my nails that were digging in. And she knew how to do it without it hurting, beyond how much they were already hurting of course.  I wish I would have thought to do this a long time ago.  Now I can go hiking again!In contest to a few bad reviews about this place, for my experience, I was cheerfully greeted right away by the gentleman at the front desk, and LYNN was extremely nice and professional.  Everything looked clean. The only thing negative at all I have to say is that I got some strange looks from a couple of other employees.  I assume maybe because I am a man in a place mostly women go to?  Who knows, but homey don't care.There is metered parking on the streets, a pay lot across the street ($3 if I remember correctly), and around the block on De Lacey there is a city pay lot that allows 90 minutes for free. This is my favorite salons!!! I've been going for a while now and I'm always happy with the final product of my nails. I took a break from this salon and went to a cheaper one on Lake and was not nearly as satisfied. I came in today for a set of acrylics and they seated me right away. I got to look at an extensive amount of polish swatches while a nice young man prepped my nails. I showed him a picture of the shape I wanted, and he nailed it!! I've been coming here for about 5 years, I only keep going because they're good at threading. They're also good at gel but if you're getting just a regular mani pedi then try someplace else. I just got back and they didn't even take the old nail polish off all the way, my skin is stained red all over my toes. I just asked for buff nails and I got uneven not very buffed at all. Maybe just don't go on a Friday. Pretty terrible and I'm disappointed. That was the last straw for this place. The service was okay everything was very basic. The guy who greeted me was nice and I got sat down right away for manicure. There was one guy who kept taking to me while getting my manicure which got annoying cause I'm there to relax. The woman doing my nails sneezed three times AND DIDN'T WASH HER HANDS.. I'm pretty sure the tools she used were not sanitized either. The nail files were clearly used and when she was done she just wiped the tools and put them back. When it came time to pay I assumed they accepted card since there were card machines to do so, also there were no minimum signs. The front desk guy notified me that they "just implemented" a card minimum of 20$.. I only had 13$ in cash so I wasn't able to tip. I also ruined on of my nails trying to dig in my bag for my cash pouch to check . He told me I could use the ATM in the store but that would charge me an extra 5$ just to use!! I only came in this place since it had Pasadena awards everywhere for being one of the best nail salons in the area. It was ok but definitely won't recommend people to come. Where do I begin.... I walked into a room full of stone faced employees who were none too helpful. It took them a while to acknowledge my presence, even though they were all staring at me...Not sure what that was about. Anyway, a young man wearing reflective sunglasses and a T-shirt that read, "Anti social club" came to greet me and he was nice enough.Holly,  the young lady who did my pedicure was timidly sweet!  She did a good job and was very professional. I did find it rude that she didn't even bother looking up when I walked up to her and gave her more than a 20% tip--she didn't have trouble taking the money and running away(Literally). Oh yeah, and to add insult to injury, Mr. Antisocial told me, "see you next time" as I was walking out...not a chance!Overall, I can say with relative certainty that I won't be back. I know this is a cheap nail salon in southern California. I know what I am getting into. I have tried many of the salons around the Pasadena area. Decided to try this one since it's in walking distance to my new place. HOWEVER, it was not worth the time or money to come here. Should have driven to my usual spot.I was rushed to pick a color and then quickly rushed into a chair. Honestly only 30 seconds or so was allowed to choose a color. I originally came in for the deluxe pedicure since I read great reviews on the callus removal. Well after my lady rushed, rushed, rushed through rudimentarily trimming my nails and cuticles she asked what type of pedicure I wanted and I decided not to pay for this lady to rush through the extra callus removal. Meanwhile, someone started my fingernails but when another lady (who didn't seem to have an appointment) walked in for a eyebrow wax I was ditched mid-filing to wait for a new technician to finish my nails. Helen ended up doing my nails after my pedicure had finished and she seemed to do a nice job but also rushed through the entire service and left for the night before I had even paid. The receptionist seemed nice enough but when I was paying he said to let him know if I had a problem. Ok I thought, he noticed I wasn't happy with the service, but he simply waved off my concern that I felt very rushed and pushed around with "some people like us, some people don't". Well, I hope thats not their business motto!I'm rating 2 stars since the end product came out just plain fine. Not great...not terrible. This place is beautiful.  They have so many seats for mani-pedis and you really feel like you're swept away in a relaxing oasis while the amazing men and women beautify your hands and feet.  Each chair is a giant massage chair so you are also getting a nice massage while you're getting your mani-pedis.  I've always only gotten regular pedicures and gel manicures here.  The regular pedicures with nail polish is $20 without tip and the regular gel manicures are $30 without tip.  They do a great job for me...and that says a LOT because my fingers and fingernails are HORRIBLE (thank you bouldering), and I only go once every 3 or 4 months.  =(  I'm surprised they are patient enough to fix my fingers EVERY TIME!  They also do waxing and threading here, but I've never wanted one.  I love this place because of the ambiance.  Unlike most other nail salons I go to, this place feels super clean, big, and full of friendly and professional people.  I love this place! Harmony is one of two salons I go to regularly in Pasadena for mani-pedis.  I am a regular mani-pedi customer, and Harmony does a good job.  Here are my pros and cons:Pros-great selection of good quality polish, good color selection with on-trend colors, friendly staff with a few exceptions.Cons-very popular, so often crowded at peak times, foot massage with the regular pedicure pretty limited.I've never had a complaint about the quality of my manicure or pedicure.  I always leave with my nails  looking good. Not sure what the 1 star reviews are about, but this is my go to nail salon! I've been going here since they opened. Mai is my lady!  If she's unavailable I go to Fong who's great too. These two ladies are awesome if you're particular about how your nails are done. Service has always been great! I make same day appointments and they always accommodate me. Josh, the guy at the front is beyond hospitable. He makes it a point to know clients by first name and just makes the overall experience enjoyable each time I go. Such a friendly staff overall. They have spa chairs for mani/pedis but they also have a nail bar your hands only. They're a full service nail salon. They offer gel, acrylics, waxing, threading, eyelash extensions all for a reasonable price. Prices aren't too bad for the location and up keep of the salon compared to other joints. They maintain the shop and all its materials on a regular basis. My husband and just recently moved to Pasadena from South Carolina so I had been doing research of good nail salons close to our home. Harmony is less than .5 mile from our house. So the distance was perfect. The guy at the front desk made things run smoothly and was nice enough to lead me in the direction a good Restaurant close by. My normal salon has limited hours compared to Harmony so one Saturday evening I called made a last minute appointment and was so glad I did!PROS: - Open 7 days a week! - Open later than most salons! - The owner Jen is so warm and gets to know her customers. - Gel manicure done by Sue & pedicure done by Michelle easily lasted 3 weeks. - Most gel colors have an exact match for non-gel colors for pedicures.DRAWBACKS:Note I say drawbacks and not cons because they really are not. - This is a busy salon with the ability to service a large number of people all at once. So it is not very "relaxing" but I suppose that is also why they can squeeze late appointment makers (like me). - It is located on the edge of Old Town so it falls into the same parking options. The 90 minute free lot on Delacy is about 1 - 1.5 blocks away, there is limited metered parking directly in front of the salon and there is a pay lot right across the street which depending on the day / time seems to run about $5.00OVERALLSo all in all I really enjoyed this salon!!!
