I think my nails looks great! They had plenty of colors to choose from, the tools they used looked clean and sterilized, and the person who did my nails was efficient and open to my feedback. It seemed like a lot of the customers in there were regulars which speaks really well to their customer service. I only have one negative, and it's a big one for a bargain hunter like me. This place is pretty pricey. I only got a gel manicure and it was $32. Many of the nail places in this area are currently under $30. Perhaps, if they did anything extra, like a stellar hand massage, I would feel better about paying that much. But not for just the manicure itself. I didn't even get to sit in a massage chair! We'll see how this manicure holds up over the next couple of weeks.Update: The gel on my thumbnail lifted shortly after I left the nail place!!! I rushed back to the salon, ready to raise hell if it wasn't fixed, especially given the price of this manicure! Luckily, no hell-raising was necessary. I go in once a month for a gel manicure and she always makes my nails look beautiful! They last so long! I came here out of convenience because it is in Paseo shopping center and I was doing some shopping. First of all, there spa chair seems very unsanitary to me. Every nail spa I have been to puts the plastic bag in the spa chair where your feet go, because that's the sanitary way to go. Fungal spores from other people's feet in the spa can live there and infect others. Second, they don't have their gel polishes out so you don't know what colors they have. I wanted gold glitter and they didn't have it, but later showed me this $27 extra gold glitter special polish. Had I known they didn't have gold glitter gel, I would have left. Third, the lady fling my pedicure didn't know how to take off gel and it was so painful. When it got to the polish, I think she did a good job, but she was pretty rude in the beginning of my treatment. When she asked me if I was wearing gel I said yes and she looked super annoyed then rolled her eyes. The lady at the front desk was really pushy and overall I got bad vibes. I came here today because last time, about 5 years ago I really liked how they made my nails. It was a bit expensive but worth it. Today I was disappointed, the lady was rushing through my cuticles not paying attention to details. She gave me the "menu" where out of 3 optopns for mani-pedi combos i chose the "delux" which is in the middle of price range. I doubt if there is a big difference in the result. I love this nail spot. No complaints ever. I've been coming here for almost 2 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. This is my jam :) Lena is amazing with mani's, full sets, and waxing too. I only recommend her to all my friends! She gets in done the right way. Ivy is my other favorite, the best at pedi's and even mani's. The manager Lucy is an amazing woman who always treats you with respect. Great service come with having a great attitude. Don't demand, just ask, they're open to work with everyone. This place should be called Horrible nails and spa. Yesterday I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. First of all the lady didn't tell me the water  she turned on was hot so I burned my ankle. Then when she was painting the polish on my toes she didn't even bother to check her work and left nail polish on my toes. As for my gel manicure, I've never experienced gel nail polish this way!! Not even 24 hours it started chipping off. The nail polish feels cheap. The lady who did my mani didn't even clean off the nail polish on my skin and she cut me a few times. Had one of the worst pedicures of my life here. Didn't clean my cuticles didn't scrub my feet with a pumice sponge. The color is all over my skin literally looks like my 3 year old cousin painted my toes. Doesn't even look like I got a pedicure. As for my acrylics ughhkkkkkl hate hate hate. The gel started to peel about 2 HOURS after I left there. 2 hours not 2 days. I had to go back a few days later and fix my entire hand because she also put the gel all over my skin and we all know how ugly it looks when the gel isn't rounded and clean around the cuticle. Her name was Joanne. Definitely don't go to her. The price is terrible! I paid $75 for a basic pedicure and a fill with gel. I've paid less for a pedicure and full set elsewhere. They didn't give me a receipt and I didn't ask about the price either which is my fault but I have a feeling they charged me for extra stuff and that's why I have no receipt I've been here before. I came in yesterday with my sisters so that would could have a relaxing afternoon before the wedding festivities begin.  First of all, the first five minutes were spent trying to up-sell the gel mani/pedi for $39 more on top of the Deluxe pedi for $48.  Needless to say, I opted for the regular polish.   The treatment was done in less than 35 min with uneven coats resulting in blotchy nails.  Less than one day later my polish is chipped in several places. Their cheapest pedicure is $22. You sit on a massaging chair while they exfoliate and massage your lower leg and feet. You choose your color when you walk in, but if you can't find the right top coat glitter, ask them because they have a few behind the glass. Bring pictures because their English isn't the best. I am a Pasadenian and I truly enjoy and take pride in the fine quality of Old Town and the Paseo along with all the other rich artifacts Pasadena brings. I am also a lady of leisure on a beer budget, but I do not hesitate to pay for good service. Unfortunately, Happy Nails does not pose the fine quality that Pasadena delivers. It should be removed; it absolutely does not belong in the Paseo. Let me tell you- I?ve been there numerous of times giving it yet another try, hoping that something good will come of it. Unfortunately, it never does. I always assumed that I had a poor manicurist/pedicures. When I would get fills, my nails would lift in about two days. I would return and hope that they would fix it for free (I spent nearly $90.00 every time I visited). They charged me the five-dollar fee to fix the nail. Then a few days later more nails would lift and fall off- it was a never-ending cycle. They would always tell me that I need a new set, so I gave it a try. It did not solve the problem. My pedicures cost way too much- I believe $35.00-$45.00 because you had to pay for every little thing. I am a big fan of the massage they give while giving a pedicure, however, they give the massage for one minutes on each leg unless you pay more money. Everything is more money in Happy Nails. A few days ago, I saw a sign the advertised $29.00 for a spa pedicure, paraffin wax on hands only and hot oil manicure so I there I was telling myself $29.00 for mani/pedi is not too bad. I went in with a hopeful frown. They turned me down, explaining that I needed a coupon for the deal AND since it was Friday, the deal was no good. Fine. Avoid this nail salon at all costs! We made a reservation for 3 spa pedicures for our group to celebrate a friends birthday. Not only did they forget our reservation, but made us wait a very long time when they made this mistake, and let several walk-in customers ahead of us. Then, when we FINALLY sat down for our pedicures (at all different times even though we booked together so we could sit together) they kept trying to add on extra services and would say the additional price under their breath so that we'd think it was included. After saying 5 times that ""No thank you, we would just like the REGULAR spa pedicure"" they became cold and finished quickly. We all had the shortest pedicures of our lives, 10 minutes tops, with very limited services, they hardly did ANYTHING that is normally included in a standard pedicure.
