They offer neck warmers, bring you water, and constantly check on you. Their services are reasonably priced, yet each comes with several upgrades. The third-level manicure is my favorite; it has a brown sugar scrub and hot towel for your arms. I also enjoy that they include flower petals in the water for that extra ambience. Saw they had a special for a full set pedicure and eyebrow wax for 35 and thought amazing!...it was not amazing... the sign said 40 Inside the shop sat down any way bleeding with in 30 seconds I opted out of ped decided to get eyelashes and eyebrows instead the girl who did my lashes poured glue into my actual in my actual eyeball and shouted on the phone directly in my face the entire time...the inside of the girls mouth smelled like an open butt hole in a warm turtle tank! I don't even know where to start... well let's just say 1st off the service was good, no doubt about that. I really liked my lady Thuy. She was so nice & made my experience a good one. The only problem I had here was there pricing system. Online it says there services & all but never mentions an additional $15 for gel for each service done. I mean it's no biggie, but it just caught me off guard. Then after the service as I'm leaving what really got me was the fact that the lady at the register tells me you get a discount if you pay CASH ONLY!! This was one of the best nail salons I've ever been to. I loved every part of it. I booked an appointment but ended up getting there about thirty minutes early. No problem! They got me right in. I appreciated having a range of pedicures to choose from and I went with the Peppermint because the soles of my feet were in pretty bad shape from summer sandal walking. I was greeted with a cozy blanket and even a warm neck wrap to cuddle up to. They also had some complementary drinks.    The nail tech really took her time to provide the best possible experience. One of the things I really liked was the tool that they used to get calloused skin off--it was almost like a mini sander thing that got my feet SO smooth! I adored the nail polish I picked--they had TONS of colors which made choosing the perfect one easier (I went with the Gel which I highly recommend). First time dropped in and took a basic option. The good thing, that I didn't have to wait. And after half an hour I got my fingers and toes done. The bad thing is about quality. Look at the pictures. Camera could even catch inaccurate layers. Before I got seated, I've been told to choose a color. But there was only 4 polishes to choose from. When I asked if they have a color between pink and orange, they brought me to polishes to choose. However later I've seen others choosing from the palette 🎨. Overall: Not the best nail salon i've been to, but i'd definitely come around if I had a nail emergency!I came here today to get a gel mani. The selection of nail colors were limited, but they had enough to choose from (ranging from glitters to holographic to chrome to pastel colors). I was greeted by a male who did my nails. He was friendly and easy to talk to, pausing everytime to make sure i was happy with the shape of my nail.The overall appearance of my nails was fine. There was a few areas on my nail that could have been better painted and less clumped. (I understand no one's perfect ). The only real 'con' i had about this place was the cleanliness. Pretty unhappy with the gel manicure I received. Probably 2nd to the worst I've ever got. I really hate to write this review and rate this place so low because the people are very friendly and the place is nice (although not the cleanest).When I first came I the people at the desk are extremely friendly which is great because that isn't always the case. The whole place itself seems very luxurious and relaxing. No chemical smell! Wrapped spa beds for the feet to keep things clean... awesome!But not for me. I sat in a chair and a lady (don't want  to mention names) started to file my nails. Not only did it get all over my jacket, clothes and purse, she did it so rough it started to heat up my nail to the point of pain!Now that my nails are done I can see each finger is a different shape, the polish is thin in some places and you can see my own nail bed, the polish near the cuticle isn't even... UGH! I got the basic only because I don't like getting a massage (I know I'm weird) not because I'm being cheap. Very disappointed!! This is the best nail salon in Santa Clara! (I've been to many!) I constantly return and am continually pleased by the results. I've had one of the nail techs, Lee Anne, (I believe) and my shellac manicures last weeks when she does them. She is careful and great with customers -- I've had conversations with her and also just sat silently, such a sweet girl. Very nice salon! Got the "refresh" gel manicure for $35. Reasonably priced I'd say. Especially since I loved all the add ons: mint leaves in the soak, warmed neck pillow, the substantially long arm/hand massage, and the warm towel massage at the end. I've been here a few times over the last 4-5 years and usually it's fairly decent service, good nails, and palo-alto prices (avg for the area). No complaints and while not my top choice, it ranks high. However, I came in today for a full set of acrylics and John, who I believe just joined recently, was AMAZING.  It was the first time when getting acrylics and I said "I would like short nails (not like 1in long talons)", that the technician hadn't said something along the lines of "no, no, long is better. It's prettier" - which me, being me, meant i ended up caving and just filing them down myself at home after. Upon closer inspection at home, there's a few little refinements in terms of nail shape/gel application I could've caught but really overall, I'm a happy customer. Super friendly, great conversationalist but also knew when I wanted to just sit so convos never felt forced, and overall great nail technician. If you're looking for fast service, this is the place for you.  For the price I paid, I expected them to take their time but instead they rushed through the service which did not make it enjoyable.  Technicians need to be retrained on how to correctly trim toenails in order to prevent ingrown nails, which I started developing a day after my pedicure (Ouch!).  Also, technicians need to learn to take it easy when filing off the shellac on nails for removal as they can easily burn your fingers if they file too hard. I used to come to this spa all the time five years ago since I grew up in the area. I recently moved back and came today for a pedicure and eyebrow wax. It's even better than I remembered. The service is impeccable. Michael did my pedicure and he truly did an incredible job. The signature pedicure lasted almost 75 minutes when at most places, I am out in 45. It was much appreciated. The eyebrow waxing wasn't the best but they tried their best. After all, this is a nail salon. That's where they truly excel. Won't take a star off for the eyebrows. I work near this salon so was surprised I hadn't noticed the sign a few doors down from Spice Kit earlier! I went on a rainy Sunday in winter so it was fairly full but not too busy. The salon is very hospitable! Upon entering there is a front lobby that is curtained off from the main salon area so it's nice not to notice the hustle and bustle of checkout while you're in the pedicure chair. The staff is extremely friendly! They also all wear matching black uniform and apron which makes the atmosphere more professional.I had a mani-pedi and they immediately offered me a spot in the pedicure chair where I received my traditional pedicure and a manicurist was able to do my nails at the same time. The traditional pedicure comes with real mint leaves in the water- not sure I could feel much of a difference but knowing they were there helped me relax :) The pedicure massage chairs are a bit dated and the remote was a little confusing so I couldn't figure out quite my perfect setting but that might just be me! Otherwise my mani-pedi looked gorgeous. I chose an OPI Infinite Shine color which was $5 more or 8$ more if you use for nails and toes. Thankfully they take card but only cash tip is accepted. A little bit of a bummer but they have an ATM in the lobby. I can't remember the exact breakdown but my pedicure and non-gel mani totaled $60 before tip. The neighborhood was previously TEERRRIBLE but theyve condemned all of the bad Apartments so that rid of most of the bad The shop was previously dirty and that's why I previously stop going The shop made some pretty significant upgrades which really added to the shop and cater to the sanitary needs of the customers... As far as attitude hell you find that everywhere. In many cases, customers reap what they sow. Then they quickly get upset because they were initially the rude person The special is really only special for those who need what the offer states. Basic math will tell you that. This is the go-to nail salon in Palo Alto even though there are a bunch of other ones around the area. I have been here once with a group of 8 girls and they were extremely accommodating. I think one of the best things about this place is that they are able to serve large groups very efficiently. I got the classic manicure and pedicure with french gel nails for my hands. Pros: the staff is really nice. Sonia was my lady and she was very sweet. The place is pretty clean and it's pretty quiet. The chairs have leg massagers. I got in without a wait.Cons: overpriced, I got a regular pedicure and I didn't even want polish on, and it was $25. It was the shortest pedicure I've ever had, I was there for 15 minutes and that's because she had to cut an ingrown toenail. So if I didn't have that I would've been there for maybe 10 mins. She put lotion on my legs and didn't even massage me or my feet. They use the chairs to "massage" you which is honestly so annoying. She also cut my nails and filed them before I even put them in water?? I was also going to get my gels taken off my nails and they were going to charge me $10... So I will just peel them off myself. Went for a pedicure and despite telling the pedicurist not to cut cuticles on the side of my toenails she did anyways and my toe started bleeding. My toe is still in pain and am worried about staph infections as there was a Substantial amount of blood given that it was a small area of my toe. I would caution against going to la Jolie. A year and half ago when certain people were there it was a great place but now after the experience i had in there i wouldn't set a toe in you establishment! $40 dollar special is a rip off my nails are shitty, i sat in regular cold ass water for almost an hour before someone noticed i existed. After i got my eyebrow done, which was the only good part my experience, the short fat woman was so rude i walked out without drying my toes! Paid $57 (cash) for my mani pedi gel package that includes light massaging, hot scented towels.My pedi water was filled with mint leaves and what not, feels spa-ish. My mani water had mint leaves as well.Monica did my mani and she did an amazing job, she helped me pick out a color to match my red shoes. Kathy did my pedi and found the perfect color to match my gel mani. Overall I'm pleased with the work.I got to sit in the massage chair with a neck warmer until my toes were done air drying.The facilities is well kept and clean; though something that was silly is that the pedi sinks are literally kitchen like sinks. It's a neat design, looks like an antique water pump well. Ample parking and yes there is an ATM with a $1 fee inside the establishment.Only wish it weren't THAT expensive.
