My pedicure was okay, my two stars is based on a clear lack of cleanliness. The floors were dirty, they cleaned the tools in the water while my feet were in the tub, when I paid the woman's hands were covered in oil ... she didn't even stop to wipe them after dealing with someone's feet. I called Five Star Nails to ask about an appointment while staying in Palm Springs. They urged me to come on over (which I did). They were very busy with other happy customers, but I was immediately assisted by Kathy who was so gracious and fun-loving. She did a fantastic job on my gel manicure with excellent efficiency. I loved how gentle the lady who did my nails was. She always made sure I was comfortable. I originally went in for a nail polish change and was asked ever do kindly if I wanted to change to gel. You can't knock success. This is the best salon in Palm Springs. It's the busyist nail salon I have gone to. I have gotten the very best pedicure from Michael. The owner, Catherine, is the backbone of the salon. She makes everyone special. She is more of a diplomatic and greet people as friends and family. Boyfriend treated me to get my nails done pretty late in the evening. We walked in 30 minutes prior to them closing, but were treated as if we walked in mid-day, even as we were there 25 minutes past their closing time. Annie took such great care of my nails. My  natural nails have quite the curve on them, so it's difficult to shape them- and I completely understand so I normally have to fix them when I get home, but Annie got them nearly perfect. Normally I also notice that when I get my nails done else where, they miss the outside edges of my nails- she made sure to double check them each time. I was a little picky with my matte finish, but she was beyond willing to help. The massage at the very end was just the cherry to a nice visit at the salon- for I've never received one during/after a manicure. The only thing that kinda had me a little off was that it was difficult to talk to her, she was a little timid but those she was working with stepped in when needed to help clarify for both ends, but all in all Annie has definitely won me over and I'll continue to go back to the salon for her specifically. We called ahead and made an appt and they were ready for us even a couple minutes early. When we parked I was a little nervous because most of the strip mall was empty but I'm glad we yelp'd and came here.  Both my girlfriend and I are happy with how our nails turned out. Incredibly friendly and gracious welcome by the owner (and felt genuine and unforced). The rest of the staff seemed just as pleasant even though the place was unbelievably busy.Facility was meticulously clean.The owner also did my pedicure. I've been going to 5 star nails for the past 2 yrs. And Tim has taken very good care of my nails. They are beautiful and for the most part they have been grown out twice may have broken 2 nails in the time I have been a faithful customer. Their product is great! Friendly service, wait time wasn't bad and it was a busy day.  I had a manicure and pedicure.  It was wonderful!!  They sanded my gel polish off which was nice (I've had it ripped off at other places).  They soaked off the gel on my fingers (again I have had it ripped off and it sucks).  They had great techniques!  Loved the massage and the paraffin wax!!  I would recommend this place to anyone Read Less

BAIT OFFER: They still have a 20% off offer on yelp that they would not honor!!! We called ahead to schedule four pedicures, and they told us to come immediately. I waited the entire duration of my parties' pedicures and was still waiting to be seen. I was put in a spa chair that "didn't work," they attempted to charge me for sitting in a nonfunctional spa chair with cold water for half an hour without ever being addressed by another human life. They up-sold one of the men in our group to a sum total of SIXTY DOLLARS worth of pedicure, clearly taking advantage of him when he said it was his first time.  I'm not sitting outside the salon waiting for them to finish the $60 pedicure--I'm regretting saying, "pick a place to get a pedicure and I'll treat."
