I came in on Friday to get a gel manicure. I called in a couple hours prior to see if they had an opening. No problems there! They were even able to seat me early which was great.This was not my first visit to the salon and this review is solely regarding the quality of my last service. I was drawn to some metallic gel nail polishes that I have never seen before. They are basically glitter powder applied over a coat of white or black nail polish and rubbed in to create a metallic sheen. I'm not confident that the shade I picked matched the end result, but I trusted in the process and thought it didn't look right just because it was unfinished. Sadly, I was mistaken. You can also make out the air bubbles and uneven nail polish application in the pictures I've provided.I did not think to ask about how much these were (lesson learned) but there was nothing on the gel polish swatches indicating that those options would be $10 extra. If it was listed anywhere else I must have missed it. I would have really appreciated it if someone confirmed with me that there would be an up charge.In summary, I don't know whether to be unsatisfied by the product or the process. Either way, I would reconsider choosing the metallic options from here if you expect a meticulous manicure. TL;DR : Came in for gel manicure. Chose metallic gel polish. Love this place! You won't regret it! I have known Shayla (owner) for awhile now! Back in high school before she opened her own salon, I would always go to her. When I found a new salon near me, I walked in and right away Shayla greeted me and remembered my name and who I am! After 10 years! And I immediately said Shayla? It was amazing to know someone recognized you as a previous customer after 10 years. Shayla keeps a clean and friendly business. Her employees are all very nice as well. Lena is my girl for my manicure and Shayla does my pedicures. I've only gotten to meet with some of the gals when my two girls aren't available(rare) and I need an emergency appointment! Usually like it here and my nail technician was very nice, but it has only been 1 week and my gels are peeling on all fingers and a couple of my tips are breaking off. So, I'm sitting here waiting for a friend to finish up with a pedi as I write this... my nails look amazing, her feet look amazing, and the prices here are fairly decent.HOWEVER. My eyebrows... are gone! I asked for them to be cleaned up, not HALVED. I wish the stylist would have just asked if she didn't know what a "clean up" was. There was no reason for it (they had already been shaped, so the hard part was done), and the stylist defended her actions by showing me the wax strip with the other half of my eyebrow on it, saying she was creating arches. They're the most crooked arches I've ever seen, because they have a dent in the front that makes me look like I'm upset (which I am right now, but that's beside the point). She gave me involuntary RBF!I'd get my nails and feet done here, for sure. But I swear by Grabthar's hammer, no one here will ever do my eyebrows again.5/5 for the Nail Salon. 1/5 for hair removal. 3/5 overall. Read Less

Love this nail salon! Never have trouble getting in. I've even called on my way and they make an appointment for me. It can be a little cramped when a lot of people are there but the decor is so cute and the ladies are so nice, you hardly notice!! Katie is by far my favorite! She has been doing my nails and eyebrows for years. I used to see her at a different salon and was pleasantly surprised when she started working at Tranquil! My only complaint is that my gel nails don't seem to last as long as getting them done from a different salon. Seem to chip after only a week or so. This is my new go-to nail salon. It's right on the Orange Circle near my job, yet the prices are very affordable for such a trendy/high-traffic area. I pay $64 every time I come in for either a fill or new set with a pedicure with a 7-minute massage. Kim is amazing as well - she really cares about you liking your nails and will always go the extra mile to make sure you do. She'll do her best to match colors and even re-do them if you don't like them. She also gives massages at $1 a minute. She's good at working out my knots and relaxing me after a long day. I look forward to my visit with her every 2 weeks. The location is incredibly clean and very chic looking on the inside as well. I love my nail girl, her name is Kim. I have been going to her for the past 12 years. She has not always been at this location I followed her from a different location in Orange.  I also enjoy having my pedicure done by Katie. I always come during the week to avoid parking issues. There is public parking across the street, but if you don't want to walk it is best to coming during the week before noon. I highly recommend the services of Kim and Katie. Read Less

My first time here and I really liked my experience! They have tons of gel OPI colors to choose from. The salon is small/cozy but it didn't seem to matter. Sandy did my gel manicure. She was super nice. The owner also seems very attentive to her customers. I loved it so much that I told my friend about it, and she came in for a gel manicure and pedicure. I have been to over 10 nail salons, and this one truly has stolen my heart. Kim, my nail technician is the best! I came to her with my nails being paper thin and short from the gel polish, and now my nails that grow long and are strong naturally are back to there normal state! I love this place! I don't know what all these other people are talking about, especially those saying that there are no massage chairs and that they are overpriced. It's a beautiful clean salon with massage chairs and they are very reasonably priced. They do an amazing job, are friendly, and are not pushy with adding extras on to your services. My friend and I went in for the first time during the street fair last week, partially to get in air conditioning. We had a fantastic experience. The young lady who did my mani/pedi was great, though she was very soft spoken with a bit of an accent so I had to keep asking her to repeat herself and I felt kinda bad about that. She did a great job on my nails. I didn't ask for anything special but her work was clean and I didn't feel like I had to fix anything when I was done.The lady who did my friend's mani/pedi kept talking to the lady on the other side of her and glancing back at my friend and I. We felt like she must've been talking about us. Her work was a bit sloppy. At the end, my friend accidentally messed up a nail so asked the lady at the counter to fix it. She must have thought the work was sloppy too because instead of just fixing the one nail, she did all of her fingers. Now THAT is pride in your work/store! This review is only for nail service. My manicurist Mai is excellent. She's detail- oriented, skilled, pleasant and caring. Price is under $100 for full service spa gel mani-pedi with tip. Yelp has a coupon for first time clients (at least when I went to my first appointment in early 2017). Ask for the frequent buyer punch card before leaving if you plan to become an ongoing customer. For the second time I decided to give this place a shot since I had the kindest woman give me a pedicure. This visit I decided to bring family with me and we all had pedi/mani's and more. I ended up with the same technician who previously did my poor manicure. I decided to give her a second shot. This time she had not changed. She did a poor job on both my hands and feet because she wasn't present and was in a rush. She kept stopping ever couple minutes to watch what her co workers were doing, all the edges of the polish were uneven and she ended up rushing out after she finished with me without saying a word. I know her behavior and lack of presence wasn't personal to me but I won't be visiting again. It's been a couple days and my gel polish and toe nails are chipped. Read Less

In town for the weekend and found this place on Yelp. It's your average small nail salon, but they do an amazing job! Both my pedicure and gel manicure came out awesome. Tina, who did my nails and was very friendly noticed my eyebrows were looking rough and offered to thread them. I was a bit nervous because I usually go to a specific place but they came out great! She took her time and was very gentle. To top it all off, somehow my pedicure, gel manicure, and eyebrows came out to just $47! Partly because Tina mentioned they give 15% off to new customers but even without the 15%, $55 for hands, feet and eyebrows is still a steal if you ask me. overall i had a good experience here. there was no wait as i went in the middle of the day for a pedicure. the girl did a good job on my feet and even managed to get my ingrown toenail pieces out the sides which not everyone knows how to do properly. she did seem annoyed that i didn't want the $40 pedicure and i declined the eyebrow wax she offered as well, but overall she was kind and did a nice job. i know upselling is a part of the job but she offered me about 10 different things over the course of being there and it kind of got old. chose 1 or 2 and then leave me alone. i will be back to this place as its close by and i feel it's reasonably priced. they also have all OPI, essie, and ORLY polishes which are better quality. I walked right in off the street and was able to see Lena without an appointment. What drew me was that fact that they do chrome nails. It's a long process because there are so many steps. It was $35 for an acrylic fill with a 15% discount already applied. I like how my nails turned out but I had to take away a star because there is no massage and the place isn't very clean. I really don't like to leave bad reviews but after seeing all the great reviews I expected better service. I went in for a gel manicure and what I got was what I would consider just a basic manicure. The lady who assisted me was on her phone most of the time and didn't even bother to ask me what gel manicure package I wanted. She just assumed I wanted the cheapest package... which was overpriced at $27. Since I have worked in the service industry myself I expect great service. I will not be returning. Read Less

4 stars! This might be TMI but the lady really got my hang nail out for the first time after going to many nail salons. Props to her for digging her face into my foot. The place is super cute and clean. They have news playing on the TV which I really appreciated. I usually go to nail salons that are playing a Korean drama. They ask for your payments on an iPad before they put nail polish on your nails, major PLUS! I had both a great experience and a terrible one. I had come here before for a manicure and I liked it enough to come back, this time I got a manicure and pedicure. The manicure was amazing, the lady who did my nails was very sweet and careful with my nails. She took her time and double checked each nail to make sure it looked good. I was very happy with how they turned out and I would recommend the manicure. The pedicure was not great and a little painful. The water was lukewarm and the lady doing my pedicure was very rough and seemed to be in a rush. First she jammed the tool under my nails a little too hard which was uncomfortable. Then the worst part is that she scratched the side of my foot with the rough sponge they use on the heels. Cannot recommend. Right down the street from my house (actually plentiful parking for those who are driving), clean interior, very friendly staff. The pictures of the nail art are what sold me, as I think it takes very skilled hands for that type of work. But I came here for a pedicure.Long story short, though the space and spa pedicure were sanitary, the women gracious and appreciative, and I received a first time discount, I still would not return or refer anyone here. My polish was painted on my cuticles and though it was cleaned up with some acetone and a brush, and looked good from afar, the polish line was still sitting on my skin and I suspected early on that the pedi would not hold up. Well, my polish immediately chipped off (the whole nail, not small flakes) when I went to the beach four days later. Being a socal resident, and a beach frequenter, this is the first time my toenail polish has ever worn away on the sand. I am so sad I moved because I have to find somewhere new to get my waxes. Cortney is amazing and very knowldgeable and, believe it or not, can actually make your brazillian experience enjoyable. Her space is clean and private, tucked away in a cute old house in Geneva. The inconspicuous-ness is really nice because when you walk in it is not like you are announcing to the world "Hey! I'm going to get a wax!" Also she has great hours and flexibility (evenings and weekends!) and you can schedule using her website, a mobile app, or by texting her.
